Thankful for Kroger taking care of my balloon order now that Party City's have sadly closed down. I needed 35 latex balloons blown up with helium and the kind florist at Kroger took care of me for a third of the price I was quoted at a different party store. I ordered them on Thursday and was able to pick them up Friday morning! Keep in mind, latex balloons don't last very long. But hey, it got the job done for a little surprise I was putting together. Kroger was very festive with all the Christmas displays. Walking up to the entrance I smelled all the wonderful christmassy scents. I normally come in to gather fruit for my parents, and I'm always able to find them. The checkout service was great. The cashier had a very pleasant demeanor. read more

12/14/24: Stopped by to pick up a surprise cake for my stepdaughter who was graduating from college. I met Cynthia, who was the baking manager. Her shift was almost over, but she was willing to help and answer my questions. She even customized the cake and added some decorations. The cake was good and the surprise was a success! This is a solid Kroger that I've happily patronized for the past year or so. The store is clean and organized, and they usually have items that even Super Target (Firewheel) is lacking in terms of groceries or personal supplies. I've also been impressed with their selection of last-minute plants and flowers, because they've got such a large grocery and personal care section of the store that the plants section is a little bit smaller than I've seen in other places. The one item that I cannot consistently find is bottled shelf-stable Orange Juice. So if you're going here for that item, just don't get your hopes up. Otherwise, I recommend a visit! read more

The pharmacy constantly has issues filling prescriptions, whether it be prescriptions are not in stock, or they don't understand the drs notes (how does that even happen??!). Purchased a carton of PallMall, charged to card and then realized they charged me $84 so at that moment I said no I don't want them because at Walmart they are $56. But it got pretty interesting finding products we're not normally used to seeing at a grocery store. (A bag of chitlins, really?!) If I only knew how to cook it (and if I had the time!) I would have bought a bag! (We're from SoCal, so these aren't very common for us.) I spotted a shower sponge I really liked for the bargain price of $1! Too bad it unfurled less than 96 hours later. We needed help locating a product and staff were more than happy to show us. The only thing, though?! The refrigerated section in the back (you know... with the meat, poultry and seafood) was FREEZING! Somebody please turn the temp down in that area! What's important is we found everything we needed. Prices are a little higher but for the most part I go here for great produce and meat. The locations are also convenient. I have had instances where the strawberries and other fruits displayed to purchase are molded and then I bought really expensive avocados all to take them back from molding really fast as well as a persimmon that I purchased for a lot of money just for one and had to take it back to get a refund. I had no problems with customer service though on either account with getting money back. I save a lot too with the gas rewards! Love it but you have to watch it because they expire and I just blew it by not seeing I had 200+ points for March. They don't roll over. Updated review: 2/1. This store location is so convenient after I get out of my morning class in Garland so I hate that this happened but I've had another mishap here. Recently I purchased some Hillshire lunch meat and the top pack was fine so I packed my daughters lunch and I also made a sandwich for myself. Well, after the fact, I noticed one of the packages were off in color (Mega pack is 2 packages) and so sure enough, there was a hole in that package. I always check my expiration dates so I knew it wasn't expired when I first purchased it. I took it back for a refund and mentioned this to customer service because this is crucial for people's health. Luckily my daughter and I didn't get sick from eating out of the package that was fresh. (We only consumed about 6 slices all together but still) On a separate note, I had noticed 1 tub of meat with a sticker on it advertising it was on sale. Guess that was a red flag I didn't pay mind to. It was the only one marked down so I thought that was weird. I just can't wrap my head around any company that doesn't continually monitor freshness of food. Not being in this line of work, I can see how it's a lot of separate departments to handle but something needs to change. Otherwise the continued issues get over looked and I can imagine how some customers would just throw it out, not mention this and the issues will still continue. My contribution is to help specific companies to be made aware so they can be proactive with their staff and make a plan of action to make things right for everyone. read more

For one instacart you have to download coupons again even if you have them in your kroger which was odd because it was all connect. I did voice my concern. What an annoying experience. I've tried 14 different carts, small and large, and all of them had a drag, and 8 made a loud noise. Dragging a cart as you are shopping becomes inconvenient as your load gets heavier. I will be shopping at Tom Thumb for some time until I give Kroget a second chance. Annoying! read more

This is a decent kroger. I stop in here on days when I havent had time to put together a lunch or just forgot. Most of the produce is fresh and in good condition. Make sure to read the labels on some cheeses and things. Ive picked up one or two items that have expired or had mold on them. The store is set up well so everything is pretty easy to find. I've been coming to this Kroger for about 9 years now and it keeps getting worse all the time. I swear they look at what I buy and decide to stop carrying those items. They are frequently out of items with many shelves always having blank spaces. This is a review only on the sushi section. Right in front of the entrance is a little cute sushi section. Um, can you say YUMMY????? Geez, I love getting sushi from there!!!!!! :) It's not like the "Americanized" version of sushi (if there is such a thing), they have legit sushi. They also have cute names of the different rolls like "Finding Nemo" which I thought was cutee. They also have rolls made out of brown rice, which I find to be rare in sushi shops. They also sell fresh sashimi! So whenever you shop at Kroger, make sure to stop by the sushi shop and get some yummy, legit sushi!!!!!!!!! :D You will not be disappointed!!! read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at Kroger because the sale prices are pretty competitive. Sachse got its first major grocery store in the form of a "signature" Kroger, and the store has grown with the local population even extending its hours. It is now open from 6am to 1am. But as I discovered just the other night, Kroger is still adjusting. My husband and I got to Kroger at about 10:30 at night and noticed long lines at the registers but I assured him the store would clear by the time we were ready to check out because we had big shopping planned. We spent about 45 minutes getting our groceries. So, it was about 11:15 when we went to check out and saw that there were no cashiers. The only open lanes were "self-check-out". There appeared to be only one lady counting the tills at the closed registers and my husband counted 23 people waiting in line to check-out ahead of us. I spoke with the lady and was told that there were no cashiers on duty between 11pm and 1am. Another employee approached the front and offered to start checking people through his line. When we got up to the front of the line, he told me the same. So, I confirmed with both employees working that night that every single night between 11pm until closing time of 1am, there are no cashiers on duty at all. Sorry, Kroger, but this is grocery store FAIL. read more

I love Kroger and generally have a good experience. Today, however I was incredibly disappointed with the clerk who bagged my groceries. I always bring my own bags because I can usually fit all my items in 2 and living in an apartment that's easier than managing 9 or 10 of the disposable ones. My bagger started to use my bags but only filled them half way. He then asks if I wanted paper bags for the remaining groceries. I said I would actually prefer that he fill the bags I brought. He then proceeded to just cram my items in the bags. I had a bottle of wine on my bread, a lb of sugar on my eggs and even a bag of potatoes just tossed in on top. Not sure why it was so inconvenient for him but it became a hassle for me. read more

Oh how I miss Kroger. Kroger is so much cheaper than any of the local grocery stores in the New Orleans area. When I lived in Ohio, Kroger was my go-to store for groceries. Milk at $1.99 a gallon and other items some $1 or more cheaper than what I can get the same items in New Orleans. This particular location was well stocked, clean, open 24 hours and even had items that I cannot get elsewhere. They also have cheap gas and Starbucks in every location. This Kroger is a perfect example of the surrounding community growing too big for the store. This is a small Kroger and one of the biggest issues is they have resorted to putting displays on virtually every aisle and the aisles are narrow. You often have to wait for the customer in front of you to clear because you can't possibly go around them. With employees with big carts filling online orders, it is a challenging experience. I only shop there now because it is right by two other businesses we use. read more

Normally, I would have given this Kroger 4-5 stars. This one experience repulsed me: The cheese case by the deli was literally COVERED in dead flies just 2 days earlier. I counted 30 before stopping. I reported this to the store manager who had the case cleared and cleaned. While I was there this time, they were restocking the case with the same cheeses...I assumed they would discard them. Now I am wondering what else is covered in flies in the back stockroom. The employees said there were flies everywhere because of the rain. I am not sure if I can shop here anymore...I have serious sanitation concerns. Also, since the flies were DEAD I am wondering what kind of poison you are using around food (and what the flies are transporting as they land on cheese, deli meat, and produce). It seems frivolous to buy organic in an environment like this. If I had taken a picture, the health department might have shut you down. I am disgusted! read more

I like that the store is brand new and clean what I don't like is the number of expired products I have purchased at this store. I just opened a bag of flavored rice cakes I bought on April 11th and I though the flavor was off so I checked the expired date: March 14!! This isn't the first time this has happened. More like the 5th time. I bought lunch meat that was expired but luckily I noticed it at checkout, odwalla juice, soup, bread and I'm pretty sure the beef I bought one time was expired because it made my husband very very sick almost immediately after consuming it. What I do like--the staff and managers are helpful and friendly. I also like the pharmacy they are more knowledgable than our local walgreens and cvs pharmacy. So mad at the situation the Kroger employees put me in last weekend! I ordered cupcakes thru the bakery 3 weeks in advance to ensure they would be on time no issues. These were for a baby shower and requested dark blue icing with a baby shower topper. The lady told me they didn't. Have toppers. Ok no problem I'll go buy them myself. Well when I went to pick them up they were the wrong color icing and they had baby pins in them?? So I spent my money for nothing. Oh well I didn't have time to mess with it. I went to check out and the dumb bagger at the register tried putting a big thing of cupcakes into a bag like it was a bag of chips! Omg they all are smushed! I was so upset! Then to add insult the cashier said oh I can take off a few dollars?? WTF DUDE! Would you serve smushed cupcakes at your party??? So I walked back to the bakery hoping they could fix them and just my luck they were out of blue icing! Ugh I give up! I won't be returning to this Kroger for a long while! This store is horrible! They play an announcement about how they require masks, yet their own employees aren't wearing them. The older lady at the self check out area NEVER has her mask on her face. She wears it around her neck. The produce employees rarely have their masks on. The isles are narrow and yet they put displays on every isle so two carts cannot even pass each other. The items are either out of stock or nearing expiration dates. Employees that are restocking items have empty boxes and carts all over the isles left there forever and making it impossible to shop without moving their stuff they abandoned. Perhaps they can't get good help because they want them to have to scream "woo hoo" every little bit. I know I would hate to have to be so nerdy! read more
