Came in store next day to ask, customer service lady said of course they will write what you want but the bakery closes at 8:0 and the lady leaves early, so good luck with that I guess. I visit this location 2-3x a week since it is the only grocery store within 5 miles of my residence. During the day the service is fine, but tonight I arrived 5-6 min before close and as soon as I walked in the door in, one of your store associates followed me and went out of his way to tell me I had 1 minute to checkout despite it being 3-4 min before close. My father was in the ICU all week and was released today. I grabbed paper towels in a hurry and ran to checkout. Out of all checkout lines and self checkouts, there was 1 self check out register open with 2-3 employees just standing around staring at all the customers in line waiting for us to checkout just so they could lock the doors. Disgusting customer service especially with it being the day after thanksgiving. Please consider the fact that your shoppers don't always get the chance to celebrate the holidays on time and are forced to get last minute needs for their family members that spent the holiday in a hospital bed. I work in the customer service industry and have been in this location several times before close, tonight was by far the worst customer service. Doesn't matter if you have callouts or issues with your employees, they should never be allowed to treat people this way. It's not about what you say, but rather the way that you say it. Lori gave me the worst customer service experience I've ever received. i was trying to get a refund because the codes on some products were wrong. not my fault. I was being overcharged for organic items when they were not organic. The day It happened customer service was already closed so the lady at the register said to come back. I went back a week later and Lori said she couldn't give me my money back because "the coupon was no longer valid since that was last weeks special" and that she needed approval from a manager. And I was like "okay can you call them?" she said "no. I have repeatedly purchased food from here and taken it home and several items are past their expiration dates. It's so frustrating! The cashiers are far from helpful and the baggers are too busy worrying about gossiping to help bag leaving most to the cashiers to bag and scan at the same time. The Tom Thumb store in Rowlett is a great supermarket with a full deli, meat market, bakery, florist, pharmacy, gas station, and in-store Starbucks. I'm sure there are other departments that I am leaving off so if there is something I have not listed and you want to know if they have that department or service here is the main phone number to the store ( (214) 607-0218 ). During football season if you wear Dallas Cowboys apparel you will receive 10% off of your groceries. I am sure there are items that cannot be discounted so check with the store for details. This location has fresh sushi. The store is always clean, super bright and has great selections of fresh, frozen, and canned goods. The end caps and promotional setups are always nicely done. The wine and beer selection is better than most other grocery stores. I have dealt with employees from the meat market, the customer service center, The people at the checkout, the deli, and the bakery. Each time that I've had dealings with each of these different departments the customer service has been great. Lastly, I'm a big believer in shopping local. If you do not shop at your local stores then the tax dollars end up going somewhere else. Without shopping local stores new growth cannot happen. read more

This store is really nice however the problem I conistently encounter is the lack of checkers during lunch hours and after 5pm. I just don't understand how they can have one checker at 12:30 during the week and 4-5 customers deep. I saw one customer, he only had a head of lettuce and an onion and I don't blame him for not wanting to wait to be checked out. He left his items on another belt and walked out. This review is for the meat department and specifically the butcher there, Perez! He did such a great job and helped us out big time!! We were having a big BBQ and because of a misunderstanding no one brought the meat!! My husband went over to this location and not only did Perez hook us up with some great steaks (this was for 40 people mind you!) but he even went out of his way to chop it up into kabobs for us and gave it to us with a smile and was very happy he could help us!! This Tom Thumb is decent. I go here a lot since it is close. The deli has a great selection and the prices through out the store are ok. Not as cheap as walmart but still pretty good. The produce is fresh and the pharmacy is clean. I have this 4 stars because I just bought some naan bread and got home realizing it had mold on it and it was expired. They shouldn't of had it on the shelf so I'm returning it. But otherwise a great store. read more

we do a lot of shopping for our family here. I like the new tagging system that helps you find certain types of food such as Low Carb, Low Fat, etc. Keeps us from having to read all the labels and quickly spot the healthy choices we are seeking. Time saver when you are shopping for a whole family. They always have someone at the door to greet you with a smile and to get you help if you need it. Prices are decent and gas discounts with your purchases. Only downside is they don't have a gas station at this location. read more

I like this store (clean store, courteous staff), and I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM 4 STARS...BUT...I have downgraded them because my mother needs to ride an electric cart while shopping and they went from three carts to ONE in the last few weeks. I realize this is a courtesy item, but if you are going to pay prices higher than several stores in the immediate area, shouldn't you be able to be comfortable while you shop? One cart is not enough to service a store this size. Three was barely enough. The other day a lady tracked us down to tell us she and her husband were waiting for us to finish shopping so he could use the cart. (No pressure, right?) Needless to say we cut our trip short and TT lost some sales. So to the manager I would ask...in the day of WalMart can you really afford to lose sales for such a fixable reason??
