The employees at this particular location are always friendly and definitely stand above the rest (Walmart and the now closed Kroger) . They claim to have a strong commitment to its mission, vision, and core values by providing quality customer service & aim to be the preferred grocery shopping destination. My experience with their store associates and the management prove that they don't care to provide quality customer service and their reluctance to offer help with a smile proves that Albertson's doesn't take care of their employees because it shows in their faces and their disrespect to the their customers. I buy my groceries online and have been a customer for a few years now. Almost every time I make an order either something is left out or is expired. While I do get a quick refund, it causes me to have to go into the store which is not something I want to do thus the reason I order online! This has happened several times. Since they were acquired by the Tom Thumb group, it's been amazing. Store remodeled, lots of room, bright, and clean. During COVID (and now), they have put the safety of their employees and customers at the top! The manager is a great example of how a manager should be. This Albertsons used to be kind of depressing to go to. However they have begun renovations, updating the store front and the inside as well. The produce selection has gotten much better. Now that I've started coming here more I've noticed that the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I am looking forward to seeing the fully improved store. read more

On a delivery order I ordered 3 kinds of meat. They said all were not available. Contacted meat dept and they had all 3 in stock.

I went to this Albertson's specifically to get drinks. I was so happy to find bottled Texas Tea and illi cappuccino. I recently looked for both of these at Kroger and WinCo and neither store had them but this Albertson's had both! I might have went a little crazy loading bottles of tea into my shopping cart. The customer service was typical of most grocery stores (Market Street is an exception). Some of the employees smiled and were pleasant. I could tell my cashier just got the job because he was breathing and could talk. I like this Albertson's for having exactly what I came for. read more

The store renovations are done, new entrance, new check out & new floor! This store is the closest to me and I prefer to go here because the ad for Tom Thumb and Kroger are the same as Albertson's when it comes to sale items. I have had no trouble with the deli, bakery, produce or meat departments. They have a much bigger pharmacy area than most stores, but I don't use their pharmacy as our insurance wants us to use Walgreens. Found the staff friendly and they take you directly to what you need; they just don't wave you in a vague direction like other stores. Produce looks fine to me and not as expensive as Sprouts. If you want to save a few dollars I say go to this store first. read more

Skip this place! Sales everywhere but nothing rings up right! Waited at register for manager to verify a sale, she went into the cash office and never came out! Cashier had to call another lady over, who also tried to run away into another direction! Other lady said I didn't shop correctly at the buy 1 get 2 free meat bin, even the cashier was surprised! They have all the meats stacked together and they are priced within 1-2$ of each other but apparently you have to get the exact same meats to get the deal??? The 3 packs I got all had the same buy 1 get 2 free stickers on them?? How hard can this be?? Oh well! Service is slow and sales are deceptive, 3 other things on my receipt have different prices than they had on the shelf! I had to fill prescriptions for my son and myself both, for different reasons; the medications were nothing alike. I went to pick up these medications and was told my sons was not ready and they only had a partial fill of the generic of my medication. I asked when the generic for the medication came out and was told a recent date. I was pleased UNTIL.... Yes, this is a biggie...May I take the 1 star rating away and give them a "NO star" rating.... My prescription WAS NOT MY PRESCRIPTION!!!! I asked to speak to the pharmacist, who insisted it was correct because that was what was in the computer- he did not need to check the paper scripts. I asked what my son's was being filled with and it was an antibiotic that he is FATALLY ALLERGIC to. He stopped breathing and turned blue when he was a baby and used this medication. My prescription was filled with my son's prescription, his with another patron's, and lord knows whatever else was messed up. I figured this out, but the pharmacist refused to pull the hard scripts until I walked to the front desk and got the store manager that forced him to do so. I was not asking him to show me the records of others, just for him to check them to ensure all of our safety. I even tried explaining this to him. I refuse to use them, now. A pharmacy, or any medical facility, should have NO qualms with US wanting to make sure our treatment is accurate. WE have every right to ask if the doctor or pharmacist did, or does, a proper check,in our presence, to ensure our safety and health. read more

I rarely shop here because 1. I think they are pretty over priced and 2. I can never seem to get the "deals" right. I realized today they are part of Tom Thumb which explains some of the pricing but not the service. They dont have the biggest selection of products, just one or two of each brand and not always a store brand either. Their bakery is quite tragic. There isn't usually anyone around for assistance. They have limited or no product available the times I have stopped in. Of the 2-3 times I've stopped in specifically for a dessert or bread it's just not there. Today completely out of Italian/ garlic bread. That's a major staple. I look back and see some that she says expires today ( which I took bc I need it tonight) but how come there is no replacement bread especially coming up on the weekend. I've needed a last minute cake for an impromptu birthday. 15 minutes later found someone to write on the cake in the worst handwriting possible. The deals today again didn't go right. I asked them to take off the products instead of stressing about it and the cashier still couldn't get it right even after the customer service manager tried to help. They had several buy 4 of something to get discounts. Some rang up and others I was told to wait till the end. The coupons weren't rung up for the right price... I spent the next 5 minutes after check out going over my receipt to see if there were any other mistakes- I found 2 and the CS manager took care of it again. One star for him and one for the clean store. Hopefully writing this down will help me remember why I don't go there....... read more

We shop here a lot during the month. Keith, Johnathan, Tamika and Andrew are very customer service oriented. Staff is so much better than before. Most of the time Walmart may be out of something and they have it! Great at helping you find things or try to get it in. I ordered a graduation cake online one and a half weeks in advance. I picked out the design, colors, and wrote out the wording for the cake. I was unable to pick it up so I had my mother pick it up. When she got home I was in utter disbelief at the first site of the "cake." First, the colors were not what I chose. I had picked blue and YELLOW. I got blue and GOLD. Ummm...how can you not know the difference between yellow and gold?! I mean, we learn primary colors in kindergarten if I'm not mistaken! Second, the center square with the wording enclosed was totally crooked. Totally UNACCEPTABLE! Third, the cake was missing most of the design features that were pictured on their website! It had only a border, two squares, and some writing on it. It was as plain and sad as a painting with no colors. I mean...it was pitiful. Fourth, it was as dry as a bone. I ordered it a week in advance, as mentioned above, and my guess is that they made it way too early so it had been sitting there drying out by the minute. So, after I looked in complete dismay at the horrible representation of the so called "polka dot graduation cake", I called them to see how this could have gone so wrong. I first spoke with the "cake designer." He said that when you ordered online that they cannot see the actual picture of what the design looks like. Seriously....WTF! I'm sorry, but how are you supposed to make a cake and design it according to the customer's choice if you CAN'T EVEN SEE THE FREAKING PICTURE! Isn't that the WHOLE POINT?! I then proceeded to explain this to him and he gave me a lame excuse that he's been trying to tell them (whoever them is) about this forever. I then asked to speak to the manager of the bakery dept. He got on the phone and I gave him a piece of my mind and told him what the designer had told me. He explained that "oh they could in fact see the online pictures but he had to show the designer how to bring them up." My response to that was that he should better train his crew because that is horrible service and how are you supposed to design a cake if you can't see what the customer has selected? His excuse was that he had just been moved to this location and has only been there for two weeks. I was furious, to say the least. This was for my daughter's high school graduation! This is a once in a lifetime event! The cake was to be an important feature and should have been exactly like the design I chose. What is the point of the online ordering feature if they cannot get it right and if they totally IGNORE the preferences?! I mean...they didn't even get the colors right! COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! My nine year old niece could have done better than this. It was supposed to be for a celebration, not for a funeral. It was totally drab and gloomy. I thought to myself, wow, who in their mind would finish this cake and say "ahhhh perfection!"? Would they have wanted this poor excuse of a cake at their daughter's party? HECK NO! This is the FIRST AND LAST time I will ever shop at this Albertsons. You live and learn. If you are thinking of ordering a cake from this store....PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY! This is the best grocery store in South Garland! I do most of my regular shopping here. It's never too busy and the service is great. It's very dated inside which I don't mind one bit, it's clean and very pleasant as opposed to the Wal-mart grocery or Kroger down the street, both are always stressful and crowded with a poor selection. The people that work there are always friendly and personable. Parking is always easy and I often get exactly the spot I want. read more

The 5710 Broadway store is clean, staff are friendly and service at the meat counter is great. The Ground Beef at this location tastes and smells way better than Walmart's junk and the 85% Lean Ground Beef makes a very good hamburger. To me all of Albertsons Beef when cooked has a very good flavor; I purchase almost all of my steaks here. I am not harboring any resentment against Walmart but, I will say there Beef is not for me; if you like Walmart's Beef your taste buds are dead. read more

If I could give it less than one star, I would. My family and I live literally a few minutes away from this grocery store and that is the ONLY reason we go to it. I have never left a review before and I never planned on complaining about this store despite the many shortcomings, but after my mother and I bought two large containers of strawberries and we got home, and upon further inspection saw that they were moldy, we were furious because that should've been caught by the cashier. It was the last straw for me. We drove right back up to the store to get a different batch but we had to wait for a good thirty minutes before the manager decided to tend to us. We weren't the only ones waiting either. There was an elderly couple there who was trying to get a discount off their phone for some eggs and share it with the same cashier who sacked our groceries earlier that day. The elderly couple was probably in their 70's and they didn't understand how the technology worked and they didn't understand that the e-mail they received wasn't a coupon but the coupon was in the app and the e-mail would lead them to that. The cashier could've easily given them the discount and politely explain to them how it works but instead, she simply responded with 'oh that's not a coupon'. That isn't customer service and that is not helpful. So the elderly couple and I waited until the manager finally got to us and of course, he didn't really seem bothered or cared at the fact that both containers of strawberries had mold inside them and he also wasn't very sympathetic with the elderly couple. Then, he even had the nerve to tell me 'you can go get your strawberries if you want'. Absolutely unacceptable. At that point, as a manager, it is your job to go get the strawberries and make sure they are actually good because now I was suspicious of the whole batch! My family and I have been going to this grocery store for 20+ years, we come every 2-3 weeks and buy a big load because that's how we prefer to shop. Of course, we always get comments on our large grocery load from the cashier and to be honest, it's quite annoying at this point. It isn't funny, it isn't cute, it's annoying, so stop it. We easily spend $300-400 on groceries and we never receive any decent customer service, at least in the last few years. There was a time when they used to have sackers who actually offered to take your cart out to your car for you and help you put stuff away, which is actually quite helpful considering we get so many groceries. We don't necessarily need the help, but it's the principle that counts. There's also one particular sacker/cart collector who has a particularly rotten attitude. He is lazy, speaks very rudely, and more than a few times he has just thrown/tossed our groceries into our cart without any care! We literally spent hundreds of dollars and he treats it like crap. That same worker said 'you're not supposed to park there' is a condescending tone when my mother was dropping me off to exchange the moldy strawberries. She wasn't parking there, she was literally sitting there for a moment to let me out of the car which is something everyone does. He also sassed the elderly couple by saying 'I'm not a manager, so that's not something I know" in a smart-ass tone. Cashiers are visibly miserable, have little to no personality even when I try to initiate the conversation. I come from the younger generation and I do not agree with the phrase 'the customer is always right' because I think some customers are projecting their crap onto the workers, but at this store, there is ZERO attempt at customer service. Absolutely none. They are understaffed, especially in the deli department, because the deli department is a ton of work for such little pay. All in all, if you don't care for lack of customer service and care, it's a very mediocre store and it's overpriced. read more
