Super disappointed with my visit to WinCo! It's such a dirty store and the prices are NOT that cheap. I believe the prices at my Aldi, are way better. For example the Jiffy Cornbread is .58 cents a box & at Aldi its only .52 cents. Where WinCo is not close to my house, I thought I would give them a test drive, meh. The produce is wilted & old and the meat looks like road-kill. Wasted Trip!!! Oh, and the best part of my day...I was overcharged on my bill! read more

Great selection of food and produce! It's big, comparable to a Sam's Club size store. They have multiple ranges of options and their deli has tons of selections! I did have an issue with the check out lady since she just assumed I knew how Winco worked, when it was actually my 1st time being there. You can't return hardly anything with this store. Perishable or not I purchased it from your store and I have a receipt. I've never had an issue like this from a GROCERY STORE! This is my second review for WinCo, this company and store is remarkable oh, the produce department is excellent and fresh and cheap compared to Walmart and Kroger. The only thing that's not good in produce is their melons , cantaloupes, honeydews, and watermelons are priced by the pound? Who does this? Right? Other than that, their bulk Department is phenomenal! They're baking Department is also a phenomenal ton of selection, the meat is cheap comparatively also the chicken and pork is cheap comparatively. The frozen fish department is cheap comparatively, I consider myself a professional shopper that I don't get paid for LOL actually I have nothing bad to say about this store. Please give it a try! Super rude lady working in self check out made me never want to shop at WinCo again! I have never in my life been to WinCo and friend in the nearby area suggested it. Ha! Never again. I had 20 items MAX and lady working in this area (older black woman with glasses) stopped me as I was pulling my first item out of the cart. "This is for 15 items or less" trying to prompt me to leave. Once again this is my first time there and I wasn't aware of a limit of items for self checkout. I said, "I'm so sorry! I didn't realize! I shouldn't have more than that!" (I had 21 items I'm sorry) She rolled her eyes and said "go ahead ma'am" Why the attitude? I then needed help and she basically shoved me out of the way to scan her card because I had been waiting for about 5 minutes for her to come around and clear my assistance needed to check out. It's big! It has mostly name brands! It's cheap! The address is for Centerville Road, but it sits back a block off Centerville, behind a Ross store. Above many of the items is posted a list of the current prices for the identical item at Kroger, WalMart, etc. Then WinCo kills 'em. Meat department offers only pre-wrapped stuff. Fish counter is pretty thin. Not the smoothest checkout in the world. Credit card & debit card difficulties. I expect this will be corrected. If you are looking to rub elbows with swanky customers, better go to Central Market. read more

WinCo is Ah-Mah-Zing!!! I am blown away by the incredibly low prices! That said, let me also expand on the other qualities that make this a five-star review. Now, you have to understand that this store doesn't carry everything, but if you are strategic about what it is you are looking for and devote a modicum of planning your shopping excursion, I guarantee it'll be worth the trip. First, you have to acknowledge what it WinCo is about. Low prices. How do they do it? Well, naturally there is going to be a more abbreviated selection of items. But guess what? Not a problem. The people at WinCo are smart and have just the right selection. I have yet to not find what I'm looking for. There have been a few instances where I didn't find a specific brand, so just I tried another brand of the desired item and was totally happy. I saw another review bashing them for lack of fresh produce. Okay, while it's not the cornucopia of bountiful produce you may find elsewhere, it's still sufficient. It would be foolish of them to carry large amounts of produce when there are other stores where that's their deal. Low prices in the hizzouse, m'kay? WinCo in my eyes is more of a place to obtain dry goods, frozen stuff and non food items. So plan accordingly. Ah, speaking of dry goods, WinCo has an extensive selection of self-serve bulk goods that include everything from cereals, nuts, pasta and baking ingredients. Very impressed by this set up. Another superb aspect of WinCo would have to be their grab and go section. Salads, cheese and fruit pairing as well as chicken dishes are all prepackaged and make for easy lunch time fare. The morale of the employees here seem through the roof! Everyone I've encountered has been of a pleasant demeanor and seems like they really enjoy their jobs. Also, the last cashier I dealt with was so incredibly kind. I spent barely $25, and she informed me that I was eligible to get a free gallon of milk with my purchase. She kindly let me go all the way to the back of the store to grab the milk and by the time I got back, my groceries were all bagged and ready to go. This was especially nice since I know I was her last customer of her shift and she easily could have just not mentioned it, but this was such a lovely gesture. You just don't see that level of service at most places. Lastly, they are open 24 hours! I'm a night owl to the core, so anyplace open all hours of the night bodes well with me. I highly recommend WinCo Foods and hope to see them open up more outposts here in DFW. I drive all the way from Lowest Greenville to shop here, and it's worth it. I hope that other people find the same value and worth in WinCo that I do. We need more business who operate smart and are worthwhile. I will be telling all my peeps about this place in the hopes they discover just how awesome WinCo is. Sure, there are places where they may have a better selection, but if your aim is to SAVE MONEY, then this is the place for you. read more

I can't believe I waited so long to check out WinCo! On my first visit I was enthralled with the selection of food. The bulk item area was very impressive. I haven't seen one this good in a long time. They have some of the good obscure ingredients like nutritional yeast and potato flour. Produce selection was a little lean but I was still able to find everything I needed. Very impressive selection of brands for all kinds of products. They have premade ready to go pizza dough. That blew me away. This is now my grocery store of choice. They have it all and they're open 24hrs! read more

I don't think I can go back. I mean when someone tells you they will not sell you items that are there to be bought. Here's the deal. I get an email to go buy 80 Bagels from Costco. I get there and they have 3 flavors, nothing more. I tell my office about the deliciously fresh and tasty bagels at WinCo. How they have way more flavor choices and even a couple that can be considered healthy. So I am told SURE and SOUNDS GREAT! I go in, ask the Bakery Manager for a larger Bag, I was going to buy about 7 dozen of their mixed bagels and I wanted to put the dozen count bags into a larger bag to keep them together and make it easier to take to the car, unless she had a box. She flat out tells me I can't buy them and she will not let me take them; then proceeds to lecture me on calling 1 to 2 days in advance for such a large order. I looked back at the bagels, they appeared to be almost all full, a few missing here and there for the most part, but plenty. I asked her flat out, "You are refusing to sell me products I am requesting, because you 'think' you 'may not have enough, and I can see you would still have maybe half, give or take, left when I am done'?" She looked at me and simply said, "yes", while looking over the top of her glasses. I headed to the front and called my employer to tell them it was a no go, I felt like a fool, embarrassed I made such a donkey out of myself promoting WinCo's Fresh Bakery and just totally screwed over. I mean I bragged about these bagels and even said, because I believe it, they were fresher and better then Einstein Brothers. I got to the front, looked around and went to Customer Service, where I asked for a manager. A lead cam up and told me that the manager was on some kind of corporate conference call, but she did her best to hear me out and even she was shocked at what I told her. She spoke to someone on the phone (another lead I think). While she did that, I called my wife at home and told her to trash the remaining 20 bagels we had, and we are not coming back to WinCo again, at least not in the near future. My wife was resistant at first, but soon took my side when she and I rationalized, 1: It is a sale 2: It isn't my fault the Bakery Manager does not have more bagels ready to toss in the oven. and 3: It makes no sense, because logically one would assume they will be throwing out or boxing the bagels left over as day old when they close up. I told her it would be reasonable to assume at minimum 3 to 5 dozen. By this time the Lead (I forget her name, but she was so very helpful, I have to give her credit for trying hard to help me, given her limited scope of options), told me she would tell the Manager to contact me ASAP, and asked if I would leave a number; which I did. Maybe I should have asked for the Regional or District Managers Number? This all happened around say 12:30 or so. I am writing this some 2 or more hours later, still no contact from the store or manager. So far I spent over $124.00 for inferior flavored and quality bagels 84 units (7 Dozen Thompson Brand), 11 Philadelphia Cream Cheese Spreads in 4 Flavors, two gallons of OJ. Almost $50 of that is Bagels! If the Bakery Manager hadn't been such an Anti-Sales Dictator, that same 7 dozen @ $2.89 for a dozen bagels, would have cost me around $20.23 So I got nailed (OVER CHARGED) $29.77. Money that could have gone to WinCo. NOT TO FORGET, the possible business my employer might have shifted that way for Deli Trays, Sandwich Trays, Veggie Trays and so on; for company and/or client meetings they have all the time, not to mentions the occasional Company Party for Employees, many who live in and around Garland! Not happy and I honestly wonder if they give a d@mn3d read more

as i was leaving winco today i was verbally accosted by the owner of the store Patrick. he was looking at me for a inappropriate amount of time so i asked him can i help you with something? He came at me quick "what are you doing!" i said dont worry about what im doing as i was clearly unlocking my bike from a display stand, but Patrick cant seem to figure out what is going on. so before assessing the situation he just assumed i was doing something nefarious. sorry patrick you were correct it is you business if i was doing something wrong. but get the facts before you basically accuse me of ill will and then bantering me for riding a bike. shame on you! i ride a bike because i am disabled you dick, and i chose not to come back to YOUR store the second you opened that 2 cock garage under your nose. you only banned me when i hurt your feelings. so if Patrick does not like what you are saying or if you are riding a bike watch out he will let you know by yelling at you and then mocking you and then shunning you from HIS store because he does not care about all the other employees that own the [co-op] store with him. i hope you get proper training on how to deal with these kinds of situations. instead of escalating the situation from the get go by the evil eye and the aggressive accusations try wording your ignorant thoughts in a different cadence than the one you came at me with. because you would have gotten a different response i promise you. maybe even a hey thanks and some pleasantries along with have great day. try kindness instead of anger, and malcontent, and show less sociopathic behavior you will be a happier person when the day is over. it is not all about you Patrick. read more

Go here alot to stock up on some things that are higher at other stores and to get produce IF it's good that day. I went early one day. Got some things and was ready to leave. They had only one cashier but the line was long with folks with baskets filled to the top. So I go to self checkout. Ive got about 30 or so Items and the grumpy grinch of an old woman tells me while pointing that I have to go to the cashier. I say no there a line so I proceed to check myself out. This mean woman picks up her phone at the little station and slams it down LITERALLY like. Was that suppose to scare or intimidate me? Naw, I finish long before the cashier with the line started on their next customer. Whomever the hammered worn-out past middle aged women with the short blonde hair and mean spirit is need to chill out. It's a grocery store. Just be lucky you have a job because self checkout will eventually phase it out. read more

You come to winco and spend too much time there and leave spending a lot less $$ than you normally would. Great selection of fresh produce, which really surprises me, given the low prices. I used to go to Walmart for groceries, but Winco is now my go to! First off, they only take cash or debit, don't make the mistake of shopping for an hour then having to put your cart aside so go pull out cash haha! My favorite part of the store is the bins. You can pick up bags of quinoa, rice, different types of beans, grains and spices from huge bins. Oh there's also things like dried fruits and gold fish! The bulk buying from the bins is cheaper than the prepacked stuff and just as good. I only wish I could take my own containers for these items-hate using more plastic bags! The prices are cheap, the beer and wine selection is awesome and the lines are never too long. Great store and open 24/7 - yay to late night shopping! read more

I shop here every week for the office. They've always got great deals on Deli Meat(put 15-20 guys in an office and they can do some damage!!), so I'm always loading up there. The Italian Roast Beef is freaking amazing, as is the Pastrami. You can't go wrong with Either. They've usually got a deal on just about anything you could want in the store. All the employees are super friendly, and I'm usually in and out fairly quickly. read more

This place is crowded. I mean all the time. Do not come here if you can't handle crowds and crazy parking lots. This place is also huge. It can take some time to get through the store and find everything, but if you have time it is a place where you can save quite a bit of money. There are always some real steals(milk for 1.09 a gallon) and good prices throughout the store. They even have pretty good prices in the beer section. The store can be hard to get around , just because of the sheer number of humans in the aisles. The cashiers are extremely busy, but all seem pretty quick. It is worth noting that they do not take credit cards. Worth a visit , but will probably never become my go to store. read more

Went at 5am it was packed! With about 100 employees. They had stuff out everywhere In almost all the aisles which made it impossible to shop. I just skipped about 25% of the store. The store is huge! They do have lots to offer and some better prices. Check everything you think is a deal closely! They limit quantities like no other store I have ever been to...The limit is 1!! That's right 1 item is the sales price, you buy another of that same item and it's almost double the price! Meat prices were higher than I expected. Dairy prices were good. I'll give it another try, it's nice to have something different. I don't think it was good enough on the staples to make it my go to store. read more

Really clean and best place to get affordable groceries. I've never had a problem and the staff is friendly. A whole lot nicer and cheaper than Walmart!! Only complaint would be that the cats are low/out, so if your visiting for the first time, grab one of the carts from the carols. If I could give a zero I would, I was just there and don't get me wrong I love grocery shopping at winco because of their deals, this whole time I've been going there I've never experienced bad customer service till today! I am 9months pregnant so I do get WIC I went to get what was left of my card as I am always careful in choosing what's eligible so I don't 1. Hold the line and 2. Waste the cashiers time and mine. We'll as I'm checking out the cashier tells me that there's a difference I asked her nicely and calmly what were the items that didn't go threw with an attitude she says the milk and juice, as I proceed to tell her that I checked with my app and as well the wic stickers were on the shelves. Mind you I'm still calm at this point after her giving me attitude once again she proceeded on being rude at this point she starts telling me "give me the milk and juice" with her hand and I'm trying to talk and she keeps saying give me the milk and juice. Before all of this when I walked up to the register she was all smiles and giggles with the customer before me, as soon as me and my husband walk up her facial expression changes her whole demeanor changes I tried to ignore it but it just seemed like I was being racially profiled!! I told her the way she was being with me wasn't acceptable she shouldn't treat customers like that, I asked her to get her manager and she said with an attitude again "I am the manager" when I looked at her tag it only said lead I then again asked her and she said with an even nastier attitude that she was the manager. I told her to please give me her general managers info because I wasn't going to let this slide. I'm the type of person that I just let things go, but when you're being rude just to be it just doesn't sit well and on top racist! She then told another cashier give her the number rolling eyes and everything I walked up to the CS desk and the young lady was nice enough to help me and she actually listened and I showed her what I had on my app and she explained what the policy was in the store as she's talking to me the "manager" (lead) walks by and starts harassing me at this point talking obnoxious and saying cuss words I told her to leave me alone and she kept going and going I told her again to leave me alone. I'm not sure what's the proper training there but this lady needs to be retrained!! The two employees that helped me kuddos to them!!! For stepping up and helping and them not being leads or managers. Even the one employee went and walked over with my husband to see the milk and juice and he even saw that the wic stickers where under the juice and milk. Overall tonight's experience was horrible I will be contacting store manager first thing in the morning and as well corporate. I am a minority (Hispanic) and I feel like we shouldn't be treated like we are trash what happened to let's all be treated Equal? like Dr.Martin Luther King said?? I've done customer service for over 12 years and I've come across all kinds of people all shapes and color and I've learned to just walk away and not entertain if the customer is being rude, or just simply walk away. As with every grocery around here, you just have to learn what is cheaper at each place (for example Hispanic stores generally have inexpensive produce and expensive frozen foods). Some things at Winco are cheaper than Wal-Mart, Fiesta or Kroger and some are more. In general it's hard not to be less expensive than Tom Thumb and Albertsons. The produce was very fresh when I went but not especially cheap. As with a previous reviewer I am basing most of my review on their amazing bulk selection at reasonable prices. It puts Whole Foods to shame and will get a lot of use from me for holiday baking - especially in spices and nuts. read more

Love this store! They have the best produce in town. For the prices it's even better than high end stores like Sprouts. They don't stock a big selection of different brands but with most items they offer a national brand and some kind of cheaper store brand. Even if you get the name brand items it's cheaper than even Walmart prices. I don't buy the meat here unless it's frozen seafood but it's a great place to stock your pantry with dry goods. Also they have very good selection of dairy and frozen foods. I save a lot by shopping here for as many things I can, then shopping at Tom Thumb or Albertsons for the few remaining things they don't carry. For the money I save by shopping at Winco I'm okay with bagging my own groceries because they supply the bags, paper or plastic. read more

I love winco. Think I like it because prices are always changing. I get new deals every week I go. Paired with coupons and ibotta I'm saving a lot. On some things they aren't much better than Walmart pricing but it beats the obnoxious Walmart crowds. The cashiers are way nicer too! They have awesome generic brand stuff like their chips, cheese, and yogurt. Most of what I need is always in stock! One thing tho- this area is getting worse. Its still in the middle of their grand opening, so I'm giving some leeway here. It was really crowded even at 10 pm, but I think families like late night grocery shopping as evidenced by the mobs at this location. First off, the prices here are crazy cheap. There were so many times when I gasped, "How can they afford this?" So that is a good thing--easy on the wallet for common items like produce, condiments, orange juice, and dry goods. It harkens to the days of Sack N Save where it feels like a warehouse and you bag your own groceries at the checkout. However, after filling up your buggy with tons of items, know that they DO NOT take credit cards. Only debit, cash, (and check, I think). The lines were long and we opted for the self-check out. The lady working the self checkout area had to let us know about the credit card thing. There were areas that were in disarray and unorganized, but I chalk that up to mob mentality and people gawking at low prices and having to ransack aisles to stock up on ketchup and cereal. The bathrooms were a mess too and one look made me turn right around. But even with the criticisms, I'll probably give this place another try after the hoopla dies down. It'll be interesting to see if the prices stay as low as I saw initially or if its just a tactic to get people in the door during a grand opening. read more
