ALDI is the bomb.com. They have so many options; all at great prices. My delivery was on time and everything was as expected! Yas ALDI!

I enjoy shopping at ALDI. The prices are lower than United & Market Street by a lot. They carry many of the name brand items you know & quite a few of their own brand made to compete at a much lower price. I'm not a fan of some of their own brands of products as the taste is noticeably sub par compared to the brands you know. However, many of their products are on par with the name brand items & do not disappoint. Of course I suppose everyone's experience is different. My absolute favorite item at ALDI is the Cranberry Almond Chicken Salad. I'd tackle my own grandmother to keep her from the last tub of that stuff. Milk, eggs, cheese are more affordable than the established super markets & the quality is absolutely on par. I've never been disappointed in any visit to any ALDI. The stores are clean, the aisles are well markets, the products are easy to find & the employees are very helpful. read more

The staff at this location were AWFUL while I was shopping today for groceries. One of the ladies who was checking me out was extremely rude to me and my husband, while he was trying to use the restroom in store. The staff member started yelling at me and involving herself inappropriately within the situation as my husband was waiting 15+ minutes to use the restroom. He asked for help to open the bathroom door and that lady started yelling at him that "someone was clearly inside the bathroom and for him to wait." When no one was in fact inside the bathroom. She started yelling at me in line while I was defending my husband. I am SO disappointed in the customer service here, today. I always go to Aldi for grocery shopping but I won't be going to this location for a long while. read more

I'm a big fan of Aldi as they do several things other grocery stores don't that help to elevate the experience. First, their shopping carts are locked and require a quarter to unlock which you will get back when you put the cart back! Imagine not having to walk around carts or being unable to find one as they are scattered everywhere. Next, their cashiers are very efficient and get you checked out. They do not have free bags, but they are very cheap (~0.10-0.15 cents for paper/plastic bag). One way they help the efflux of customers out quickly is by having a designated area after the cashier to load your bags which helps to get everyone checked out faster and keep things smoothly moving. In terms of the products, think of Aldi as a compact strictly grocery store. There are mostly food products, and the occasional appliance or other gadget, but it's mostly perishable items. I like coming here for the great prices on groceries and will continue to visit! read more

This was my very first time ever going into an ALDI and I will say that the whole Aldi concept is pretty interesting. To start, you gotta pay a quarter to get a shopping cart. You'll get it back when you return the cart to it's place which I guess avoids having them have to have cart boys out collecting carts. The inside of an ALDI kinda reminds me of an Amazon Go store from San Francisco and Seattle. The selection is extremely small but strategically selected to be sold. I'd compare the size of this grocery store to maybe the size of a Panera Bread. It's small. The brands aren't your typical brand names you'd find at like Kroger or H-E-B, Target.. it's ALDI branded mostly.. think of it like Kirkland from Costco. They did have a very small selection of beer but nothing I personally drink. It's a good place to go for some emergency shopping but other than that I think I would going to a traditional grocery store. I will however say that the prices for items are cheeeaap!! Really good prices on basically everything. I'd check it out at least once. See what ALDI is all about. read more

I decided it was not just a bad day or a new employee. I thought I would give them one more time. This time I would look for friendly faces. Not just look for friendly faces, but search out friendly faces and people that were happy to help in my shopping needs. I've never had a problem finding a friendly face at any other Aldi location. Yet again the fifth time and a row I was unable to find a happy and friendly employee at ALDI Gaston Av. I made my very few purchase selections and continued research for a joyful Aldi experience, A joyful experience I have become to expect as a 10 year old ALDI customer. I made my purchase selections strictly upon previous purchase of products I love. And products that seemed to be extra added value. So I was surprised at the register when my purchase wise approximately eight dollars more than I thought. Once again produced pricing was incorrect. I mentioned it to cashier. Which was visibly irritated at the thought of a price check. This time I even took photos of sale items. As I'm aware of Aldi on 4120 Gaston Avenues routine by now. Miss mark items, ring out the customer very fast so they cannot watch the prices as each item is being rang up. Shove us out the door. Experience with Mark The assistant store manager since 2020 left me such a bad taste in my mouth that I decided to go home and return all of my miss Mark items that I have collected. And a keto bar that I did not enjoy the flavor of. (nothing against Aldi I just didn't like that product) When we walked in I saw Mark the assistant manager at the back register, returning money to someone else that had been overcharged, when he saw me come in with a bag and hand he knew I was returning the items that was overcharged to me A few nights before. He did not say a single word just waved me over. I told him I wanted to return some items. I handed him my receipts. He spoke not a single word asked not a single question. He knew exactly why I was returning the items. He knew because we already had this conversation A few days before, I had took my register receipts to get a pro adjustment. We already had photos in hand. But he said that's not right he hung that signs himself..... I digress. The only time he spoke to me during the hole in transaction was to ask me if I had a penny. I told Marc the assistance store manager for Aldi sorry I did not have any change. I guess Mark didn't like that answer because he cleaned out as much change out of his drawer as he possibly could and then moved on to two 1 dollar bills. I guess that was his way getting back at me giving me all of his change. (LOL jokes on him I like change.) I even have a fun little change machine that counts and rolls all of my coin. So I also took a photo of all of my change the assistant store manager Marc gave me, picture below. And then when I was done with my transaction my husband made his return directly after me. My husband's experience with refund was even worse, Mark The assistance store manager spoke not a word to my husband. NOT A WORD And left mid transaction without even saying a word. Walked past the register one more time STILL in the middle of the transaction and went to the office(we guess it was the office) A few minutes later he came back and finished the transaction without a single word to my husband! Point of the story is if you shop at Aldi 4120 Gaston Ave., Dallas, TX, please watches they ring up your products. A few dollars here and there at fast! Especially when you only have four items. PS, Get there early because at this ALDI they like locking the door at least 15 minutes before close. You have to get the security guards attention to get permission from Mark The assistant store manager so you can get inside to do business. This is a review for curbside pickup (during the Covid-19) pandemic only! In general, Aldi is great: they don't have everything, but they stock a lot of staples (rice, canned beans, produce, baking goods, cheap wine, nuts and seeds, etc.), and prices are great for what they do have. They have a decent selection of vegan items, too: they nearly always have veggie burgers, and at various times of year they have good vegan hot dogs, meatballs, mozzarella, "chicken" nuggets/patties, and more. They have a decent selection of organic foods, and their brand of Triscuit cracker (I think it's called "Savoritz") is better than the name brand! This location of Aldi offers curbside pickup; not every Aldi location in the city does, which is why I'm reviewing this one in particular. Their service is powered by Instacart, but the folks doing your shopping and bringing it out to you are Aldi employees, which I think is better. (Instacart workers are part of the gig economy and don't have benefits and often make very little money per job.) They almost always have pickup times available same-day, and most items are usually in stock. I'm really disappointed to see Nancy D's review from September 2020 saying that they don't enforce their mask policy, which is a real danger to their employees. If this policy is still in place, I sure hope Aldi corporate takes notice. read more

It took a while, but I've been to Aldi several times over the past couple of years, and I am fully on board with this place. You can go in with $10 and get a shit ton of stuff. I'm still not a big cooker, so my items are limited, but there are some good bargains in this store. The Winking Owl chardonnay is $3.13 with tax, and it's a pretty good wine for the price. Half gallon of milk is around a $1. You can get bread for around 99 cents. Their frozen flat bread pizzas are around $3, and pretty good. They have 99 cent party pizzas, which I thought were okay - but after eating a few of them I have definitely burned myself out on them. Basically, the necessities you need for cheap! This place is always busy. So many cars in the parking lot driving around, but you never really feel crowded in the store. Also the checkout lines are long, but since the cashier is not bagging your stuff up, they can move in record speed. Things to note - cash or debit card only (you can also get cash back). Bring your own bags or buy one for 10 cents (even with plastic bag ban they have always sold their bags...plastic and paper). Sack your own stuff. The shopping carts are 25 cents, but apparently you get your quarter back when you put the cart back. Enjoy! read more

I discovered Aldi just a month ago and must have returned at least 10 times already! First off, this store is well organized and has everything! From groceries, to kids slippers. It's like a mini Costco. This store is so affordable. The brands are mostly knockoffs but they are practically the same for half the cost! There's a wide selection of produce and they usually have "Produce of the week" - today I snagged a 3lb bag of sweet potatoes for .79 cents!! What a deal! There were so many snacks to choose from. The meat/fish section looks okay but make sure to inspect them thoroughly. I don't think there's a butcher on site so the meat/fish may not be fresh. Always remember to bring a quarter for the cart, which you get back and bags for your groceries. They do sell bags there for 7cent plastic, 10cent paper in case you forget. I like coming here but last two times I've been here the same cashier (Caucasian-middle-aged man with glasses) has been the rudest. This first encounter I purchased a bunch of roses and he chunked them head on in the cart. Those flowers never blossomed and I think that's why. The second time was today and he was trying to rudely give my boyfriend the receipt while he was picking up the purchased merchandise. This store used to be my favorite until today. People didn't have on masks and when I talked to them about it, they said they don't require people to wear masks. I can't believe they let me walk out , leaving a cart full of groceries behind rather than make others comply. If you think you're safe shopping there, think again! Open til 9pm Saturday. This aldi is the closest grocery store to deep ellum, so it's on my frequent stops list. Add to that the insanely low prices on basics, and you kind of have to be a nihilist NOT to shop here. While some things in the store are always available, no matter the time of year, other stuff rotates in and out on a relatively unpredictable schedule. Sometimes they have things like artisanal chicken salad, creamy goat cheese, probiotic yogurt, and croissants. They have an extensive freezer section for those of you who like pizzas, ice cream, burgers, chicken rings, fries, turkeys, shrimp, etc. I honestly really go for the cheap produce, though somewhat limited. I can always get out of the store with food for a week for about $20-30, including fresh fruit, dairy, meat, and veggies. Try doing that at the Lakewood whole foods and you'd be eating paper bags for 5.5 out of the 7 days. read more

I like this location. It was convenient to stop by to shop right after volunteering at church. The prices at ALDI are far more affordable than other groceries stores. They have their own brands that are semi comparable to name brand. I always grab my flour and sugar and baking supplies here. Also, you can buy a bag of potatoes for super cheap. Aldis is a pretty unique store. They have a lot of organic clean products you probably wouldnt find at walmart or target. This is an amazing grocery store and I love coming here all the time! Pros: + Affordable - most of the produce is a lot cheaper than any nearby competitors + Chocolate - yes, I'm such a weirdo. They have the most amazing German chocolate that's a 1000x better than any ones you can get in the store. Check out the Schogetten brand. I think I found a new place near Doug's for some great priced essentials. I was told by a friend that this was like the ikea of grocery stores where they have many things at low prices. That was more then enough for me to stop going elsewhere to get my essentials. I have been able to stock up on lunch worthy options for me along with produce and yet to pay more then $30. That is a winner in my book and you keep that money for my next trip in. I found bags of oranges for $1.50, mangoes for .49, and buy one get one free bread. Don't worry it wasn't that expired bread but the good stuff and I can't go wrong with free. The store location itself was quite on a late night and the bums in the parking lot were handing me change. Maybe I had a rough day and was looking beat to hell. Oh well who knows but I did leave with a boxes of food and enough free cardboard boxes to start a fire in case it gets cold out tonight. read more

This is the kind of place you visit for the quick fix. I'm a single guy and when I eat at home I eat extremely simply, so I could very easily go all my shopping here. But I imagine someone cooking some complex meals may have a harder time finding all their ingredients. But for what it is, it's great. It has never been too crowded when I go, which is nice. One bad thing is, even when it's a little busy, there is a long line. They have lots of cashier spots but usually only one working. Lame. I was picking up 5 items when the store on Gaston in Dallas opened this morning, December 31. When I was ready to check out there was no one in any check out lane. I asked a woman and she said very rudely that she would check me out. Before I could get my items on the counter she was ordering me to put them on the rolling counter. She threw my items into a cart that was beside her register. I recovered them and put them in a container to take to the car. I asked her name and she said Priscilla. She did not have a nametag. Our family has shopped at Aldi several times before and had pretty good experiences! We have always considered it to be a universally descent place, so it was our first choice when we moved to the city to stock up on everything we needed. We were definitely disappointed. The produce selection was very limited and the store itself was extremely unorganized; there were several lines for the same cash registers and a lot of cutting taking place because of the confusion. Overall, prices are very reasonable and we thought maybe we came on a day when stock was running low so we headed to the register feeling okay. It wasn't until we received a very rude attitude from cashier Priscilla who couldn't even say hello or look up at us then had to go through checkout twice because no bags were offered to us, that we decided we won't be coming back here. Ever see the episode of Married with Children where the Bundy's set up shop in the grocery store, to escape the summer heat, when their A/C broke? "Excuse me miss... I think you dropped something. Thank you. No, thank you" You could totally do that at Aldi. They had a tent set up in the back with a big propane grill with double burners on the side. It was the type of grill that would run you $300+ at Home Depot, but you can buy this cheap piece of shit for only $99.99 at Aldi. Getting a cart from outside was like playing an arcade game. You have to stick a quarter in the slot and use a key to remove it from the cart in front of it. Of course, we were Aldi virgins at the time, so I looked like a bumbling teenager putting a condom on for the first time, whilst engaged in this simple activity. I felt as if the older, more experienced kids, were laughing at me. Ha ha ha... look at Doug trying to put the key in the slot. The food is cheap price wise and other wise. I'm pretty sure the hens that laid the -59 cents for a dozen eggs- weren't happy little hennies. Nor were the cows that squirted out milk for $1.59 a gallon. But hey, tuna is tuna and they have it here for 49 cents a can. You can wipe till the sun comes up at 89 cents for four rolls of T.P. I'm going to buy my Dad a whole five dollars worth this Father's Day. The best part was during check out time when the cashier just started tossing our items in the cart like she was the pitcher on a girls all star softball team, only there was no catcher. We're standing around dumbfounded like witnesses of a bad car crash. My girlfriend is like "don't you have any bags?" The lady said "um no, but you can buy them." 11 cents for paper and 6 cents for plastic. We bought five paper bags and had to pull the cart over and bag our own groceries. I've watched baggers bag my stuff for years, but let me tell you, it's harder than it looks. It's like putting together a puzzle and my OCD got completely out of control. Me and my girlfriend almost got in an argument over proper grocery placement. It really is a sophisticated art. I didn't know it then, but the best part was yet to come. I went to return my cart and, no longer being a virgin, I was full of confidence. I skillfully slid the key into its appropriate slot and just as I was whispering "yeah, you like that baby?" ***BAM*** my quarter popped out. This place if 5 stars for what it is.... And it's just a place to get some cheap-as-dirt essentials and last-minute party supplies. They ALWAYS have mixed nuts for 1/3 of the price as a regular grocery store, milk, eggs, and creamer are the cheapest in town, and in winter they have $9 ice wine. NINE DOLLARS people. The next time that stuff is out, I'm going to buy every case they have. It's german ice wine (eiswine, i think is how they spell it), and it tastes JUST like the Canadian ice wine that is about $40 a pop. They also have good sav blancs, merlots, and malbecs, depending on the season. They regularly have the exact same brand of texas goat cheese that they sell at Kroger and Central Market for about $3 cheaper (and I eat that about every week because it's like crack on a cracker). They also have the best german chocolates for insane prices. Every time I have to buy chips, crackers, candy, or chocolates for a party---this is where I head. You can feed 20 people party junk food for about 20 dollars here. Need some cheap, frozen party appetizers, like mozzerella sticks or jalapeno poppers? Aldi. Need some delicious mexican Paletas? Aldi. Need some frozen berries to make a delicious cocktail concoction of Sprite, rasberry vodka, juice, and pretty red berries? Aldi. I've been known to dump out my sweaty gym clothes into my backseat to use my gym bag as an impromptu grocery sack, or balance 26 items in my hands without a bag, and they've never looked at me sideways. This is my new favorite place and I am a borderline foodie. I get the basics here like milk, eggs, cereal, etc. In addition, there is awesome stuff like humus, Greek Yogurt, Kefir, cheap produce, decent cheeses. Each time I go, I find something new or a name brand but it just might not be there next time. Some good things include: Aldi version of Kashi, whole wheat pasta, pasta sauce, microwave brown rice, stir fry veggie mixes, Weigh Watchers like ice cream and low fat granola. They even have beer, wine and generic of Bailey's. I have purchased wine in a pinch for 3.99 and it was pretty good. You have to go with an open mind. It's mostly all Aldi products, very basic and small inventory. Bring a quarter for your cart deposit and your own bags or prepared to pay a few cents for them. As far as grocery stores, this is exactly what I want... maybe it was built for guys, or not, but still... no "special cards," no crazy signs about how much crap you can save if you buy 200 bottles of soap, etc, etc, etc. It's groceries, and a few extra things. Granted, they don't carry specialty meats and things of that sort, but if you just need the basic groceries, you can't beat the prices OR the quality here! Cereal was less than $2, and milk was about $1.50... and BOTH were awesome. I'd take ALDI brand over others any day of the week. ALDI is the best. Period. Aldi has become my go-to grocery store. I live in Deep Ellum and it's super close. The prices are excellent and their brands are "Fit & Active" and "Millville", both of which are very good. A quarter deposit gets you a large shopping cart, which is refunded to you when you return out cart. You have to bag your own groceries but that's part of the fun. Purchase recyclable bags for cheap or just remember to bring yours back each time when making shopping trips. You can easily spend $20-$30 for a week's worth of essential items. My only complaint is sometimes I feel the cashiers rush too fast. I know they're probably trained that way, but at least give me a moment to put my change away and move my cart before ringing up the next customer and because then they're on top of me. Aldi could be summed up as all the 'major necessities' from a Sam's style warehouse store conveniently condensed to your neighborhood corner store. Yes, they're charging you for that shiny cart you will scoot through the isles with, and at the end of your adventure, they will charge you yet again for those nifty bags you'll take your loot home in. The check out person who leaves your lane to go to the bathroom with no notice of their intent? That's the price you pay for those lower prices on the bare necessities. My experience with Aldi is alright. If there are just a few common things I need, this place will suit. Most everything in there is their own off-brand. As I gazed upon their makeup & hair-care selections, the names of the products sound like something you'd see splashed across a Krylon spray paint can. You can find cheap "whole meal" (stir-fry, etc) dinners for $5 that can satisfy a family of 2.5, and their cuts of meat are just as easy on the pocketbook... but are what you would expect for the price. You will be spending some time slicing the fat off. Aldi is also stocked for the next bacon craze you may go through - well stocked at that. It was a disappointment to watch the cashier (who, as previously mentioned, wandered away to visit the men's room without notice) turn my purchase into a new form of arcade style game - seeing if he could slide it all with one hand off the counter and into my cart. Yes, that was my bread you just squished with your ultra cheap "citrus punch." I'll likely invest in some canvas bags and use the local Aldi as a quick fix for those days I'm too lazy to make a pilgrimage to a Kroger, Tom Thumb, etc. read more

This my second visit to an Aldi's, first one was in North Dallas on Frankford, rating of 3 stars, for all of the same reasons. After leaving Farmers Market, we were traveling East to lower Greenville for some brunching. BFF, who is famous for his diligent "price shopping", spots this location, hits the brakes, makes a sharp turn and says "we gotta check out their prices on avocados". He has been buying them at the Preston Rd location, and wanted to compare. With a scowl on my face, I grumbled all the way into the store. Yep, all the Aldi's look the same. 4 or 5 aisles with "Sam's" stocked merchandise style. Rarely a name brand in the bunch (I did see some Pringles however). Make it to the produce aisle and look at all the avocados! $.39 each. Okay, I acquiesed, "that is a darn good deal". BFF "see, I told you so!". (Kroger & Tom Thumb usually $1.99, sometimes on sale for $1. Even Farmers Market on today's shopping spree we found them to be pricey, ranging $1.50-$2.00) These avocados were a nice size, not jumbos, but not tiny either. I bagged two, one near ripe, one that needs some time in the window. BFF grabs 6 of those little jewels. On the way to the register, BFF points out canned tuna for $.49. Uhhh, it's not Starkist or Chicken of the Sea, some unfamiliar brand. He convinced me it was just as good, so I gave in and picked up a couple of cans. We'll see, haven't tried any yet. Checkout - arghhhhhh! One lane open, with 3 loaded carts (overflowing is a better description) in front of us. I was ready to leave my items and go. However, a nice young couple in front of us offered to let us go ahead of them, seeing our 2 bags of avocados, and two cans of tuna each in our hands (no cart for us on this trip). There are really courteous folks in this crazy world of ours! Had one of the avocados this morning and I painfully admit it was pretty darn good; creamy and smooth. Would I drive to my closest location 15 minutes away for this bargain? Probably, if in the right mood! Admittedly, Aldi is most likely a terrific option for shopping for large families. I saw cereals for $1.49, compared to traditional grocery store prices of $3.79 and up. (The carts in front of us were packed with multiple varieties of this breakfast item). Aldi serves a purpose. Since I rarely cook (Lean Cuisine stocked in the freezer, along with dining out leftovers) grocery shopping for me is at a minimum. And, there are just some things I will not sacrifice for price like Heinz Ketchup, Hellman Mayo, Sara Lee bread, etc. BFF says I am a foodie snob! read more

Great place to shop usually get dry goods and frozen and occasionally frozen and dairy all good. I have in the past tried their beef products and found them to be sub par so I tend to shop for meat elsewhere on sale. Staff that I ran into were friendly and helpful and will definitely go back. read more

As a single mom, every dollar counts and with a voracious 2 year old screaming "cookie" the second we get home, I have to keep things stocked up at my house and in the cheapest way possible. They have some low quality products here, surprisingly high quality products but mostly right in the middle. You wont find much organic or natural stuff but damn the price is right! I come here first to stock up on basics, then go to Kroger or Whole Foods. My only gripe is the line. I understand to keep prices low they have a minimal staff but it can be obnoxious. read more

Aldi is definitely something else. I stopped in today because my girlfriend's mom can't stop talking about the place. After carefully walking up and down each aisle and comparing what I would normally pay for my typical grocery/household goods I can honestly say this place is pretty alright. Back Story: I live in a 1-Bedroom apartment with my girlfriend. We don't have the same purchases as a 4-5 member household. I don't think I would have saved THAT MUCH if I shopped here at Aldi by comparison to Walmart or even Kroger. Sure, some items were definitely amazingly priced such as: 1 gallon of milke = $1.99 (This was mind boggling) 1 wheel of Brie (8 oz) = $2.99 Altoid mint substitutes = $.99 Other than a few items, it didn't seem like much savings unless you were buying a whole bunch of stuff for a big household. If you are buying a whole bunch of stuff for a big household, check it out. Just beware, it's like going to a scaled down version of Costco with stuff everywhere, no plastic bags at the end and brand names you've never heard of. read more

Aldi is a great place to go buy low priced household items. Aldi carries items which are specially created for them with their own graphics and branding and often immitate the designs and looks of other major brands. They will very rarely carry major brand names and often do not put competing products. So most likely you will find 1 of each item in the store. They also do not accept credit cards and you will need a quarter to use their shopping cart. But staff is very friendly and helpful if you need their help for anything. And their store is very clean. When it comes to buying food, I personally am a bit hesitant to buy from here because the prices are so low that it makes me nervous. However, I have no problems in buying Water (3 One Gallon jugs for roughly 2.5 bucks), Milk (99 cents), and disposable household items like trash bags and ziplock bags, etc. Aldi actually dates back to 1913 in Germany and was started by a wife of a miner to provide household items at an economical price. Later when her two sons finished serving in the Nazi army after World War II, they began expanded the company. Believe it or not, the two brothers are today the #1 and #2 richest people in Germany. Bottom line is they are expanding world wide and though most Americans may find Aldi's concept a bit strange given that they sell Generic Products only, what's funny is that the Germans thought the same years ago. But many have come around years later and supposedly Aldi is a household name in Germany. read more

Great prices for lots of things you need, and sometimes there are name brand items for super cheap too. It's like buying in bulk prices without actually buying bulk. Their cheapest paper towels suck, though. read more

Great prices transferred down to the customer based on this German-multinational chain's modus operandi: Bring your ATM/debit card or cash (no credit cards) A quarter will give you a cart (that way they save on wages to cart person) Bring your own bags -which you should be doing for any groceries you do anyway ...it's called global warming, work v.s. it.
