10 Stars for Central Market! I used to think Central Market…read morewas only for rich people with fancy carts and truffle oil addictions... until I learned the tricks. First tip: sign up for their newsletter--I got a $5 coupon just for joining. Then the deals kept rolling in. But the real game-changer? Their app. Sometimes they'll drop a coupon on top of an already discounted item. Last time it was strawberries--already on sale, and boom, $2 off coupon applied. I felt like I hacked the system. Their special tasting events are my favorite thing ever. I sign up on Eventbrite the second I get the email (gotta secure that spot!). You get a $5 coupon and you get to wander the store sampling delicious goodies like a VIP foodie. Yes please. I shop here like 4 times a week (don't judge me), and I know most of the crew by now. Everyone is always smiling, chill, and genuinely helpful. Had an issue once with a product--Manager Joseph refunded it without a receipt and didn't grill me about it. Just handled it. Respect. Yes, they have fancy stuff. Yes, you can spend your whole paycheck here if you're feeling bougie. But also? They have budget-friendly gems. Celery here is cheaper than Aldi, Trader Joe's, or Whole Foods--and it's always crunchy and delicious. Same goes for cucumbers, parsley, radishes. Fresh and fabulous. Their seafood specials are fire and I've never been disappointed. Plus, you'll find wild, random, amazing products that no one else carries. It's like a treasure hunt with snacks. So yeah--Central Market is my happy place. Come for the deals, stay for the vibes. See you in the produce aisle?

When it comes to the ambience or the vibe of the store, that will depend on the people there at the time. I noticed that in this store, as well as in the H-E-B store far north, they can both have the same hit or miss vibe. And the vibe is either very very friendly or very, very snobby. I'm not taking away points as this is not the store's fault. That's just the vibe that I get. With that being said, I can always find amazing items at both stores, especially this one. You cannot beat the stellar selection at the store. A couple of the items that I like to come here to get are the plumcots and John Kelly chocolates. Those chocolates are stellar. Of course, I will definitely be back to Central Market but it will never be the number one store for me because of said vibe . I do also want to add to be very careful when you're driving in the parking lot here because the spaces are tight and people drive really chaotic. Overall, I do like the shopping experience, but again it just depends on the day.

This grocery store has so much healthy finds for my lifestyle and diet. I was impressed. I even noticed some items that were cheaper than my local Whole Foods in Lakewood. I will go out of my way to shop here moving forward. I love the intimacy of this place. The produce is abundant and fresh which is much appreciated. They have a variety of offerings. It would be nice if they offered ground turkey and Hero Bagels so I didn't need to venture out. My only issue was not being able to find spices so I had to stop somewhere else for it. All in all, great first experience here. And I love the reward/point system that have going on.

what we thought were 2 yellow watermelons for $18 EACH…read more When we got home (35 min. drive) one of them was red center but we paid of course for yellow center, my mother doesn't drive so we went back a day later with a third of watermelon because family members ate a portion. Mind you, you don't know what color it is until you cut into it which they wanted the whole watermelon returned which we returned a 1/3 at which they stated: then stated they should give us a 1/3 yellow watermelon back. Fine then they should pay for my gas for1 hr. Round trip and MY TIME AND THE DISTRESS to correct WHAT THEY WRONGFULLY SCREWED UP which till this day they never apologized for. I'm truly thinking at this point that they did it on purpose knowing we probably didn't live there and it's just assume we would not bring it back. They were extremely cold, Unapologetic, And hateful 1) We don't do exchanges or refunds or returns straight up, letting us know they were not going to do anything. At this point, we are irate seeing they absolutely DID NOT CARE why we were upset by their mistake. They treated my niece who is a lawyer like trash thinking she was about to steal watermelon from them before we bought. So the treatment was worse when asking them to correct their mistake. There was no apology! It was "Give them people the watermelon and get them out of my shop" Just short of the "n" word and don't come back which we will gladly OBLIGE!!! Racism at its finest. It is not hidden in any manor. They smile when you buy which is why the black guy is there so they don't have to deal with you or they assume you are there to steal. Oh, the claimed my niece Who they thought was a thief, two days before. Went back to speak to them the day before we returned to exchange the watermelon, and claimed that she was rude to them. She's the most tactful unrude person there is. She's a lawyer, and she knows how to speak with you without raising a Voice and without being rude. That is not her demeanor. Why people go out there way to treat those who are not their kind rudely is beyond comprehension. They went out of their way to berate, belittle, and talk down to us like he is God (owner). It was traumatizing. Oh, the Lady, we spoke to would say she was very respectful. She started out with a harsh, We don't do refunds, We're not exchanging. We don't do that, But I'll call my boss. At that point. My mother was irate and cursed at her, as I got rude once we Realized they weren't gonna do anything at that point things got real. As a retailer, they should understand that when you're coming in with a complaint, that's not the first thing you say to them: We're not doing anything. It was bad Customer service all the way around, but I have a feeling had we been Latino we would have been received differently. Hopefully your treatment will be met with kindness if there is in issue. They are great at taking your money happily. Anyway, Isn't taking back food, a code violation of some sort?
