This review is only about the fresh produce at Aldi's in Rowlett. I've had to stop buying much of it as it turns bad very quickly. The bagged salads, bananas, apples, oranges, grapes and a few others are off my shopping list, and now potatoes as I bought a 10# bag just a couple days ago and already 5 good size ones are bad, mushy and oozing everywhere. I had to go thru the bag and rescue the good ones with hopes they'll last a little longer! There's still some good buys at this store, but I've been told the fresh produce might arrive on a reefer and some could be frozen upon arrival and/or stored at too cold temps in their warehouse, or that maybe the chilled area is too cold for all that is displayed there. Whatever the reason, it's no longer cost effective nor appealing to purchase much of their fresh produce stock. read more

Truly the last time I will shop at ALDI's. I've refrained from leaving a review on numerous occasions because I just don't like to be a negative person but today was the last straw. I've had very nice encounters with all the workers there but the woman with short blue colored hair. First occasion she was talking down to a coworker in front of customers, and continued to in a loud tone while walking away. How humiliating of her to do so let alone with an audience. Second occasion, my husband and I went to purchase tomatoes and we noticed many if not all had mold on them. We kindly set them aside and found a good package for us. When checking out (because we couldn't find a worker on the floor) we let her know about the moldy tomatoes and she rolled her eyes at us in annoyance. Third occasion was today, I did a pick up order. She came tapping on my trunk window, so I rolled the window down and she scoffed at me (my vehicle doesn't have capability to open the trunk with a button) didn't greet me or confirm I was who was on the order. Many other employees come to my window or passenger window and ask where I'd like the bags. There have been several mini occasions of just bad attitude from her but these are the 3 that have really stood out to me. I really hope she's not a supervisor or in any position of management because she is not fit for it. Glad Sprouts has opened up just down the street. read more

If I could leave this Aldi zero stars, I really would. I was in line to pay, when a customer pushes me & my cart and rudely says "excuse me." The cashier who was there today around 4:30pm was talkative and very nice to that specific customer. When it was my turn to pay, she didn't even bother in greeting me, was very rude and caught an attitude with me when I asked if they accepted Apple Pay. I could only assume it might be because I'm Hispanic. Because why else would you be so rude? The customers behind me were Hispanic as well, and she didn't bother to greet them either. As I was bagging my food, she helped out a Caucasian customer, and very nicely greeted them and held a conversation with them. According to my receipt the cashier's name was Arica. Thanks a lot for making me feel like a minority at your store. read more

I love Aldi's.. it has the best prices, excellent veggies and great Italian sauces!!! Lumbrusco wine is the best!!!

Love this place. I go here first before Kroger. Pumpkins here are $2.49 while everywhere else they are DOUBLE+. Most of their items are organic. They are simple, clean, and always great service. read more

Not too impressed on this visit. It's a Sunday afternoon and I have my dogs in the car and so I rush in to purchase a few quick items and hopefully get back before someone decides to report me for dog abuse (it's in the 70's buy still warm). Wouldn't you know - there's only one cashier working and there's about 5 people waiting in line. UGGGHHHH! OK, so it's not their fault that I'm in a rush but what really irked me is that the cashier who is doing the checking out, comes over to the back of the line where I'm standing and tells the guy in FRONT of me to go over to the new register that is about to open up. Bitch! I was miffed that she didn't tell me since I was the last one in the line. I don't enjoy shopping at this place and I don't like the stuff they sell so they won't have to see me anytime soon. read more

Got home with a milk and it had a small hole in it. Put it in another container and was gonna drink it but it tasted a bit weird. Took it back with receipt and they gave me no trouble. I like what i can get from this grocery store. Most milk hurts my stomach but theirs doesn't and its very good. Also their eggs are a great deal. We will continue to support them. Also reminds me of our trips to europe we visited their stores frequently thank you. read more

Love the sales it all day. I buy tons of produce there however sometimes it doesn't always look the best but for the most part you can get 2 to 3 times the amount you can get anywhere else for so much less. It's also great for the environment and the cashiers get you through really quick and I love seeing how much I buy and getting a receipt that says 20 something dollars It would be nice to have one a little closer to Roy city but I always shop at Kroger so it's still almost like one stop shopping to me read more

Thought I got a great price on my watermelon this past Sunday. Gave the cashier a $50 dollar bill and was suppose to get $44 back. I got $25. He gave me one $20 bill and 5 -ones. Only cash I had on me so I know what I got back. Makes me upset. Out $20 for a $2.99 watermelon and floating wine cup. Need to pay more attention when I pay cash obviously. Makes me think he pocketed it. read more

I love this Aldi. It has recently been remodelled and it is larger and makes more sense to navigate. The manager "Joe" is extremely helpful. Prices are excellent, quality produce, dairy, meats are hit and miss. Some of the check out staff are not very pleasant but Joe is aware of that. Otherwise they have my business. Parking is great. Most of the time the staff at this store are friendly and enjoy their job. Here lately there are two employees that repeatedly given me grief and an attitude . I have complained to management to no avail it's to the point the prices are not worth the attitude and bad service I receive from those employees . If I could find the number to the regional manger I certainly inform them of my dissatisfaction . I guess for now I will simply no longer give them my hard earned money and shop else where. read more

This location is in a good area, always seems busy every time I pass by. It seems to be holding it's own with a signature kroger near by. The milk is cheeeeeeap and don't go expecting name brand items, alot of this store is brand s most of us aren't familiar with. Some brands are good others are horrible like great value brand is at Walfart, lol. The manager is always helpful and polite and is seen frequently stocking the store. The shopping cart situation is a bit weird, you have to insert a quarter to UNLOCK the cart from its bay. When you return the cart in its proper place you get your .25 back. This keeps the carts from ending up in the parking lots and hitting our vehicle s, I can see the concept. Can you imagine if Walmart did that??? Lol! read more

Their debit card machines went out and all they did to let customers know was put a small written piece of paper next to the chashier so you didn't know that you had to have cash or check until it was too late. I had already spent over an hour shopping and was going to run to the bank that is only a minute away, for cash so that i could get my groceries. They said that they would keep my cart. I came back and they took me towards the back where the freezer/fridge is and brought out a cart. I told them it wasn't mine and they said that it was the only one that they had back there!! So now I had wasted time shopping, going to the bank, and going back to Aldi and I still had no groceries. There were only two people that I saw working, one woman on the register that was talking so much she was holding up the only lane they had open, and there was a huge line. The other boy was putting back all of the carts that people were leaving because they didn't find out until after shopping that they couldn't pay with card. Why wouldn't they at least put a sign up by the entrance?? Terrible customer service. I will not be going back. read more

I'm an avid Aldi shopper. I wish there was one closer to Royse City. Yes you have to pay for your cart to borrow it yes you have to bring or buy your own shopping bags. But these things help keep cost down. The store typically only has 3 employees working at a time, they are very efficient. I would say 75% of the products are Aldi brand but they are delicious. I actually prefer Aldi's products over some name brands. They also have awesome deals on housewares I got a 6 foot folding table for $35. My only complaint is I hate there bananas they're either too green or overripe. read more

Been twice in last week for a specific item that was on sale. Got what I needed, looked around some of the no name items looked sketchy and some looked ok. Friendly staff, store appeared clean, check out was fast. Won't be a weekly shopper but will stop in for sales. I get the cart thing but it seems pretty cheesy. read more

Great assortment of fresh produce and prices are much lower than other nearby stores!

Anyone who has ever lived in Germany is familiar with ALDI. And just like in Germany it is no frills with very low prices. Even the set-up with the table along the wall where you pack your groceries is just like in Germany, where people always bring their own bags anyway. Putting a quarter in the cart is something all supermarkets should do and we wouldn't have carts all over parking lots running into cars. I tried some of the products "Deutsche Kueche" made in Germany - they were all good. And don't forget to get some chocolate and marzipan! read more

I love this store! They always have courteous, pleasant staff and will open a new line if busy. Joe, the manager is great! I have to say, I purchase more goods than groceries. I just bought an awesome power washer ( I know!) - works great and was a great price. It's convenient and has the best prices. There are many items I don't purchase here and go to Kroger or Target, but what I do buy is an excellent value. read more

I am a regular shopper at the Aldi store in the Rockwall/Heath Texas area. I enjoy the prices and the variety of items that come from overseas. My experience with this store has been excellent especially today. Somehow I managed to loose my wallet after leaving the store. After much searching at home and not finding it, I remembered that Aldi was the last place I used my credit card. Driving back to the store, I was happy to find my wallet had been turned in by a patron. I asked the manager who turned it in and he did not know since he wasn't on shift when the wallet was turned in. He said it didn't surprise him that it was returned as that is the type of Aldi customers he sees at his store. read more

Why is it everytime I go there is only one cashier! sometimes they ring a little bell to get a second cashier but they sure like taking time. I guess since the price is low we got to give up a little extra time. read more
