The Farmers Market is not large but it is loaded with local produce and other culinary items. Jan was very excited over what they had to offer, espically when she saw the purple hull peas. I'd never heard of them. She was even more excited when she found them in the fridge already hulled. We ended up purchasing tomatoes, green tomatoes, okra, peaches, purple hulled peas, butter beans and cantaloupe. We also bought a box of WhistleStop (one word) breading mix for the green tomatoes. We fixed green fried tomatoes as soon as we got home. They were excellent. The cantaloupe was excellent. The east Texas peaches were excellent. The okra, peas and beans are in the freezer.
