We went out here for an unofficial Yelp Elite event. The bbq was simple with a few choices but it was so tasty. Most bbq places don't focus on the bread and theirs was so fresh and tasted wonderful. The shop was amazing too. The peach pickles are so good that we bought some. In addition, the peach ice cream was some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The peach flavor was smooth and authentic. I had never heard of Ham Orchards prior to a group of Yelpers setting up a UYE here recently. It's a nice little spot to have some fairly good BBQ and as others have mentioned, shopping for a lot of goodies containing peaches. I'll go ahead and get this out of the way: You can't actually pick peaches here, presumably due to legal. But they do have times where berries can be picked, although we didn't do that on our visit. Upon arrival, we were hungry, so we headed to the BBQ window, operated by area BBQ provider Eddie Deen. The sandwiches themselves were quite good, with a special nod to the peach pulled pork sandwich, which was outstanding. A generous portion of distinctly peach infused but not crazy sweet pulled pork was piled atop a fresh soft bun, it was a delight to eat. Unfortunately, the side dishes were very pedestrian and almost seemed like they were prepackaged or from a foodservice provider. But definitely get that sandwich. Moving into the store, there are tons of products available, including the incredible peach pickle slices that were served with the BBQ (great way to market the product), we picked up a package and have been loving them at home. But the best product we tried, hands down, was the peach soft serve, and I mean, it was fantastic. Impossibly smooth, delicious flavor, definitely on the sweet side. If anyone from Ham is listening, though, let me offer a bit of advice. You are seriously missing the boat by not offering a smaller serving of this stuff. GLP-1 and other factors are leading many to try to eat less and keep the treats to a manageable level; offering a "small" that's literally half the size of the current smallest offering, at 2/3 of the price, would help people with their portions and help you guys print money. Seriously, this would be a great addition to the lineup. Bottom line, it's a cool place to take the kids and most of the adults, and if you want to get your peach on, it's the place to go. read more

Highlight is the peach pulled pork sandwich. There's a self-serve area for bbq sauce, drinks like sodas and peach sweet tea, pickles, onions, and utensils. Market has fresh produce, packaged goods, souvenirs, pies, frozen meals, and ice cream. They sell the ice cream as soft serve or frozen for takeaway with peach, strawberry, or swirl flavors. Peaches are sold as a basket of about 8-10 for $10, "seconds" bag (20-30 peaches) for $13, or "overripe" basket (20-30 peaches) for $11. read more

It's been over a decade since my original visit, and a fun road trip with friends on a beautiful weekend in May resulted in an experience that made me question why it took over 10 years to return. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Pro Tip #1 - try to get there before 11:30 AM and plan your visit in May. Ham Orchards gets really busy at noon, and Texas gets really hot in June. There's plenty of parking (dirt lot), tons of people (and families), and you'll hear a musician or two playing on the guitar. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super nice. There's a market with dedicated peach soft serve lines as well as a separate building for BBQ. The two are separate, so you don't have to eat the BBQ at Ham Orchards if you only want to shop at the market. Upon entering the market, a very friendly and helpful staff member will help answer questions and guide you. 1 Star. Food - Ham Orchards is a peach farm, so I recommend you order anything that is peach infused. I went with the Peach Pulled Pork. The pork was very tender, the buns were lightly toasted, and the Peach Pulled Pork was sweet and tender. But the star of this trip was the Peach Infused Pickles. Wow, this condiment turned my "meh" potato salad into a peach infused bite that was peach sweet, pickle tart, and potato creamy. I also bought a full-sized Peach Pie from the market home. It was very good (and perfect for my Instagram feed). Pro Tip #2 - if you want to buy a pie, purchase it from the market before you eat lunch, otherwise they may be sold out. 2 Stars. We visited Ham Orchards with friends and were excited to pick peaches, but were told they don't offer that anymore. Still, we had a great time. The food was really good, we tried the ribs, a brisket sandwich, and peach ice cream, and everything tasted great. The ice cream portions were huge (we couldn't even finish them!). It's more of a pick-up/counter service setup, but the staff were friendly and efficient. Seating area was big and nice and had live music going on. They also had homemade pickled vegetables in the drink area, which were a nice surprise. The store offered fresh, organic vegetables, and overall we enjoyed the visit. read more

Drove out here the second weekend they were open and it was a packed afternoon! There is plenty of parking, you just have to drive a bit further into the lot. The lines for the ice cream were long, but everyone was friendly and the flavors were fresh. Great peach orchard! They have the sweetest assortment of cling peaches I've ever tasted. They have a café to purchase sandwiches. They have an indoor market with a variety of fruits, vegetables, jams, pickled fruits & veggies, breads and homecooked dinners. They also have frozen treats (think peach and strawberry ice cream) at a counter on the end of the building. They are fully staffed by really nice teenagers who can answer questions and help with anything. This was worth the long drive. As much as I love peaches, it's been two bad summer fruit years in a row. They had some declicous peaches. I had to give some away cuz I couldn't eat 'em all. Can't believe it's taken me so long to discover a place like this within an hour drive from Dallas! A friend and I were inspired to find a peach orchard after we had gotten some amazing peaches down in Fredericksburg and were very excited to learn about Ham Orchards. They usually open for peach season in early June and carry a bunch of different varieties til late July or early August. I like going right at the beginning of the season when they also have a few white peach and donut peach varieties. I really enjoyed this place. I've lived close by for some years now but just never did get around to going. They have quite a bit of things to do out here. They have the field where you can pick fruit, which you do have to pay for. You can buy a bucket that is good for the whole season and can fill it as much as you want. You pay by the pound. Then they have the pavilion where they usually have some sort of live music and where you can enjoy your lunch. I highly recommend their food on site. Their peach pulled pork sandwich is very good! They have several things on the bbq menu, but I recommend that item. Then they of course have their indoor market that has many fresh produce, bakery, and merchandise for sale. You can easily spend quite a bit of money in here because they have so much. It's a great place to come and enjoy some time with the family. The last time I was at this place the owner of this joint came in and tracked me down and started yelling at me about where I parked. I pulled into a spot someone else was pulling out of and he came in yelling that wasn't a parking spot. Well someone pulled out of it so I didn't know there was no sign saying no parking. He made me leave and I haven't been back since. I would never spend my money at a place that does paying customers like that. Came here with my son for lunch at 11:30AM on Friday, 5/23. It was definitely busy but not terrible. We stood in line at the food station where I ordered a peach pulled pork sandwich combo, they give you the food right there where you order and then you can walk over to the drink station. I was happy that they had unsweetened peach tea since sweet tea isn't my thing. Unfortunately in here though I spoke with a very-young female employee that was rude, I asked if she had a water cup I could get for my son. She said no, I will have to go to go back to the food station to get it. Mind you I just watched her bring a soda cup to another customer. I said okay, because whatever it's no big deal. But then as I'm gathering my bbq condiments, she asks me to hand her some random trash thats sitting there on the counter.......I gave her a look because I couldn't believe she just asked me to pick up someone else's trash, I don't work here. Apparently she couldn't be bothered to walk onto the other side of the table to get it. I did it, because my son was right next to me and I didn't want to tell this girl my honest opinion on her attitude in front of him. Besides her, every other staff member I encountered was very nice. There is a large covered seating area with long tables to sit and eat at. The peach pulled pork sandwich tasted so delicious, I ended up eating it too fast haha. The store had sooo many things inside, food items to Ham Orchards gear. This is also where you purchase the soft serve ice cream (note: you cannot check out any other store items in this line). They have peach, strawberry, and offer them as a swirl. This was FANTASTIC! I ended up buying a couple of hats, bag of peaches, peach butter w/ honey. Usually when I go to Hams it's nice, but this time was different. It started out normal, we got a bag of seconds peaches and took them home, yesterday when I opened them, let's just say there were about 12 peaches. 3 of the peaches were halve eaten by bugs and had spider webs and mold on them, and 2 of the other peaches were squished, and I even found a bug in one of them, all the rest of them had mold on them. I understand seconds are the not quite in good shape peaches, but seriously these peaches are not even close to acceptable, there's nothing right about selling moldy and bug eaten peaches. read more

This was the cutest activity on a Saturday! The drive took me 40 min from Dallas. Ham Orchard is a very family friendly spot. They have a bbq restaurant onsite as well as a shop with baked goods and the infamous peach ice cream and other things (i.e, pepper jelly, pimento cheese, house made pickles, vanilla wafers, pies, cobblers and more). The PEACH ICE CREAM is a must. It's the star of the show. It's very filling might I add. I would skip on the chopped brisket sandwich. It was flavorful due to the bbq sauce. But the meat was bland. The sandwich itself was tender though. Some salt would have made it great. They open till mid August and I definitely recommend anyone to make the drive and explore this summer. I have had this bookmarked, who doesn't love a glorious farm stand? - This is more than a farm stand though, It has pick your own berries, bbq and a store that sells produce (mostly peaches, but also berries) and Peach Ice cream (soft serve) and lots of things like jams and salsas, and pies, etc. It is popular - we were there on a later afternoon on a Sunday and it was still pretty packed. We came here this day to try the peach ice cream (turns out you can also get strawberry ice cream here - or even the 2 swirled together, but I didn't realize it until after I ordered). HOT TIP - get the cup rather than the cone for a significantly larger portion! I loved the soft serve, but it was a hot texas day and it melts fast, so giddy up on that eatin' We also got some fresh doughnut peaches that were in season (there is a sign behind the register that lists all the peaches and when they are generally in season). I love a good peach, and it did take a couple of days for them to ripen to perfect eating (all at the same time of course!) These are my second favorite peaches. One day we were in Marysville in Aug and the peaches were off the tree ripe and so juicy you ruined your clothes... I DO want to go back and try the BBQ with the peach BBQ sauce. read more

Ham orchards is a great family friendly place to go to! The peaches are to die for here. You're not allowed to pick them, just buy them from the store. The store has AMAZING peach ice cream, peach pie, peach cobbler, you name it! You have to get the peach pie and ice cream it was so good. The store also sells Jam and merch. The bbq food was also great, would highly recommend the peach pulled pork. The other food was ok, nothing to write home about. There is an area that has a bunch of condiments that you can put in your sandwich. The blackberry picking was $4 to purchase a bucket and $4 per pound for the blackberries. Check their website or Facebook because sometimes they close the picking to the public if it rained (can get muddy) or if there's not many blackberries that weekend that are ripe. Came last week to get out of the city a bit and do something different. We got there around 1pm and it was PACKED to be expected thought. We each got the peach pulled pork sandwich which was great! Not super peachy almost a little spice to it. Loved that they had a help yourself toppings bar with bbq, red and white onions, jalapeños, peppers, and different types of pickles! Very fun to be able to grab what you want like that and mix your own drinks with the house-made lemonade. I do wish the help yourself stuff was labeled I wasn't sure if the pickles were sweet or dill which would've been nice. We shopped a bit but it was packed in there! Very hard to move around and navigate especially since some people had carts that took up a lot of space. So I went to ham Orchard thinking I would get to pick some peaches and when I found out that wasn't the case I was pretty disappointed. If You don't know they pick the peaches and sort them by quality and size and sell them to you at a premium price Inside their store. I did get to pick some blackberries, which was fun and helped to ease the blow of not getting to pick peaches. We did have lunch at their BBQ Eatery and everything we tried was tasty, I had the peach pulled pork sandwich which I enjoyed along with a side of potato salad. We followed that up with an ice cream cone that can be purchased from inside the General Store. We tried both the peach and strawberry-flavored ice cream, I preferred the peach flavor. They also had live music on the day that we went which was a nice touch. All in all, I would say the real question is would I ever revisit Him Orchard and I would have to say the answer is NO. Even though it was a fun experience I was overly disappointed with not getting to pick my own peaches and beyond that, the food although tasty in my opinion was overpriced at $9 for a pulled pork sandwich and $3 for potato salad. For me personally, this is more of a one-off experience Better left to the tourists, day-trippers, And the most devout locals. With that said if you're in it for the experience Don't let the prices or my complaints deter you from at least considering a visit to Him Orchard. This is the cutest little place to visit for a day date. I was asked on a date to visit and I'm always down for an adventure. It's a good 40 min drive from Dallas but when you're talking it up, the drive seems shorter. It was definitely packed when we arrived around 3 pm. We were trying to miss the mid-day crowd. Our sole purpose was to go for the ice cream, which is an absolute must! We wasted no time getting in line for their peach ice cream. Afterwards, we walked around the store and ended up buying a few items. I bought some homemade vanilla wafers and peach honey. My guy bought some peaches and peach BBQ sauce. Everything was delicious! We didn't try any of the BBQ, which is sold outside of the store. It smelled delicious but the line was long and I wasn't that hungry. I've read mixed reviews on the taste so I can't speak on it. We sat down under the large pavilion and just talked. Since it was in the late afternoon, the heat that day didn't bother us too much. There was a nice breeze blowing. It's nice to get away from the city and explore the country. They're open every year from April to August. Get outside of Dallas and visit them sometime! read more

Only reason it is a 4 is the BBQ is ok, won't knock your socks off. Worth having it, but don't have your hopes up. The peaches, however are a straight up 10 stars! The most succulent, flavorful, sweet and perfect peaches I've had in my life. I am only upset with myself for getting a small bag not realizing I would eat a half dozen in two days. Great outing from DFW area. The BBQ they sell at the lunch stand is delicious. There is ample shady seating. The peach soft serve is incredible. There are lots of staff members around to assist shoppers. The type of peaches for sale varies throughout the summer, so it's worth going back a few times. I also like the strawberry pecan bread. Came here with my family on Tuesday and everyone had an amazing time. We first went to the shop to look around and they had so many great items that we will have to come back and try. We did get the peach soft serve which was absolutely amazing and tasted just like a fresh peach.
