She saw the hair on the plate, apologized, and took his meal away. She never offered to replace the meal or asked if he would like something else. My husband ended up finishing some of my meal instead. When it was time to pay, we discovered they had only taken half the price of his meal off the bill. When I questioned why we were being charged for food that had multiple hairs in it, I was told they had spoken with the cook and, because my husband had eaten all but one shrimp, they were only willing to take half off. The amount they still charged us was $6.49. For us, this was never really about $6.49. It was about how the situation was handled. We have spent a lot of money at Terrell Cafe over the years and have been regular customers several times a week. When a loyal customer finds multiple hairs in a meal, I would expect the restaurant to simply apologize and remove that meal from the bill. I told them at checkout that we would not be returning. It is disappointing that a restaurant we have supported so often was willing to lose loyal customers over $6.49. I also feel our community should know how this situation was handled. Nonetheless, the line was looped onto the highway on opening day which appears to have been one day before my experience; therefore, I decided to be the early bird on a Saturday morning and to no surprise I got the "worm" (figuratively speaking). I was the first customer of the day. I pulled up to two energetic employees who were ready to serve me. I was asked, "Is this your first time with us?" I responded, "Yes." I was then offered a pocket size menu (see pic) and questions were asked to help guide my decision. I decided on a hot, medium size, caramelizer. I was then directed to the window to pick up my order. The friendliness continued. Super kind crew. I recommend if you are considering giving them a try, which I recommend to any coffee drinker, to download the Dutch Bros app in advance. This will allow you to begin collecting points on your order from day one. There is an area (if you could find a parking space) where you can go up to a standing window to place an order.
