I'm obsessed with Buc-ee's! It's a must-stop if you're in Texas. It's a massive travel center, with some locations having over 100 pumps. They've even expanded beyond Texas to places like Tennessee and Northern Virginia. Everything is kept clean, especially the bathrooms. This particular location is on the smaller side, so I can't even imagine how huge the larger locations are. There's a wide variety of souvenirs from apparel and home goods to even pet items. Towards the back, you'll find a deli, a wall of specialty beef jerky, tons of snacks, plus brisket sandwiches and desserts, including fudge. We ended up spending a good amount of time here before getting back on the road. You can sample the jerky. I really liked the Honey Jalapeño and Maple Cherry (on the sweeter side). We're continuing to hit up the Buc-ee's in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and this one was the first of the day. If you've been to a Buc-ee's, then you're familiar with how it works. It's close to the highway with easy access. There's a hundred gas pumps. There are multiple entrances to the store. Even at 1pm on a weekday, it was BUSY! Inside, there's that Buc-ee's smell that hits you hard. Candied nuts and fresh brisket. And all the other stuff you can see - jerky and fudge and soda fountains and Icees and a wall of candy. It's practically a ritual. Of course, we had to stop to visit the restrooms. Mrs. K. confirmed that the ladies side was excellent and I could see that the men's side was clean. I love the red/green lights to let you know which stalls are available or not. In addition to the fridge magnet, Mrs. K. added a BUC-EE'S ballcap to the collection along with two bags of the caramel drizzled Beaver Nuggets. It's a Texas classic! So we stopped... just the number of pumps outside is unbelievable for any gas station... price is not bad either! The bathrooms occupy a wing on its own: there are so many that sometimes it's hard to believe they were all busy! And there's one available and very VERy clean which is always very VERY appreciated! They have tons of merchandise as this little gofer is famous... And they have TONS of food. Idk but their brisket smelled so good that we had to have one: it does not disappoint!! It's delicious! Everyone knows Buc-ee's is great. It's a cool place to stop when traveling across country. I stopped here on my trip from Oklahoma to South Carolina last week. The food , shopping , and nice employees make Buc-ee's. I've had the brisket sandwich that everyone raves about and I don't get it. It's mid brisket to me. This time I tried the Carolina pulled pork sandwich and again not impressed , but not bad either. Lots of food choices , I just keep making the wrong ones I guess. We love Buc-ee's and had to stop here for gas and snacks before continuing on our long drive! This location was very busy! People were leaving their cars at the pump even when they were done pumping gas because they were too lazy to park farther away, because of that it took us 30mins to find an open pump. Inside it was a mad house, so glad they have those lights over the bathroom stalls so you can easily tell which is open. Buc -ee's is a must stop on your road trip should you pass one. I was super excited to see the billboard on I-20 E and I-20 W heading back to Dallas, TX. The restrooms are large and maintained, for the amount of people this facility serves there is no waiting for the facilities. The coffee station has so many options to choose from to make your favorite type of coffee beverage. The store has just about any and everything you want and or need to refill and refuel. The hot meat sandwich's are pretty good, I'm not going to say restaurant (sit down) quality but a heck of a lot better than fast food. They have pkg'd beef jerky that they are famous for and also a jerky counter that you can purchase items from as well. So In short they have a lot of food and drink options. I wish I had more time for Exploring the entirety of the whole store, I just know that I would patronize them again. The staff are friendly and efficient which keeps things running smoothly. All I can say is.... The legend of Buc-ee's and all you have heard about it is true! An amazing experience. I didn't think it can be that special but all the billboards along the road with their confident affirmations about clean bathrooms, snacks, brisket sandwiches, wall or jerky, etc. made me stop and explore. I'm glad I did as I seriously cannot believe such a utopian place exists. I was in the store for a long time. I did lose my car keys along the way and the GM picked it up. We went there during our Texas visit and went about 3 times at different times of the day and there are always so many people. You won't be scared going very late at night as it is always buzzing. I'd heard people talk about it, and how it's like a grocery store, gas station, market and restaurant all in one but I could wrap my head around that concept. I was floored when I walked in! This is the craziest concept I've ever seen... but it was pretty cool! First off, insanely and immaculately clean. They had walls of jerky which was good! I got the jalapeño honey one and delivered. Full on taco bar, brisket sandwiches, fudge shop. We were en route to meetings with full meals otherwise I definitely would have tried some! I bought a phone charging cord at the Buc-ee's in Terrell. Went out to the car & plugged it into the car & phone. The cord was definitely defective as it just cut in & out & did not work consistently. My son & I walked back into the store within 5 minutes to return or exchange it. I went back to the cashier that sold it to me & that cashier called her manager. The Team Lead named Kaylee or Kylee was so rude to us. She took one look at it & said that it was Buc-ee's policy to not return or exchange anything. I explained that the cord was defective & they should return it. Kaylee was very curt with us & showed no customer service. I asked for corporate's phone number & Kaylee just told me, "it is on the website." Terrible customer service. OK, I will gladly admit that I did not think I would like Buc-ees. Just the concept of Cracker Barrell and Stuckeys marrying and adopting a truck stop look did not exactly wow me. When they built one at my sleepy exit in Kentucky, I actually became less of a fan. Then I did a drive across the country and needed the usual bio break and fuel up, so I decided to get off the construction zone along I-30 and check it out. Yes, the restrooms are indeed very clean with no waiting. Yes, there was waaaaay too much retail stuff to look at (which isn't necessarily a bad thing after hours of driving). Yes, the food selection was very good and hearing about the brisket sandwich, I decided to grab one and a few snacks for my trek thru D/FW. I can say the brisket was worth the stop alone. My introduction to the nuggets was a pleasant surprise and yes, their was no wait at the gas pumps. Then it was back to the drive with some some sigh of relief and hopes there would be another one along my route that did not pan out. Gas used to be much lower and now is higher than your typical other gas stations around town....40-50 cents higher per gallon. The fudge is way overrated. Beef jerky is ok...you can find a much better quality elsewhere. Customer service I've had anywhere from good to very bad. Too bad they're not consistent. Most of the merchandise is something that you really don't need. They rely on your impulse shopping, just like Walmart does. On top of everything else they just got an F rating by the BBB for failing to answer or respond to over 90 customer complaints. My first visit to one of these legendary places. It was ABSOLUTELY PACKED... which is why it's so fun to visit. You have to imagine all of the vendors at Disneyland with their stuff to sell, only nothing with Mickey Mouse, and EVERYTHING WITH BUC-EE THE BEAVER. Labor Day travels, I found myself stopping at Buc-ee's, 506 West I-20 near Hwy 80, Terrell, TX. Nice to experience was the great service, clean, organized store, friendly smiles and greetings from the employees. It was the jerky counter where Shawn was so helpful as people lined up waiting their turn to order favorite tastings. People were buying "pounds" of bulk jerky. Two huge display cases with several shelves in each were filled with so many different flavors. I tried and purchased different 3 flavors that were all so delicious! * Boheman Garlic Beef Jerky Bulk made with beef, brown sugar, salt, soy sauce powder, and spices. * Steakhouse Beef Jerky Bulk was another favorite made with beef, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, molasses, and spices. * Honey Jalapeño Beef Jerky Bulk. A surprisingly great taste with just enough kick but not too hot. It's made with beef, honey, brown sugar, beef stock, vinegar, jalapeño powder, salt, spices, and flavorings. Fyi, if you are in a rush, there are other locations, separate from the bulk counter, within the store where you can select from prepackaged jerky.
