I'm doing what I can to get to all the Buc-ee's in the Dallas Fort Worth area on this trip and so we're out here in Royse City for a quick stop. Most of the EV chargers were open this weekday afternoon and that made for a helpful stop. Inside the store, it was pretty quick. I'm very familiar with Buc-ee's and how it works. So it was nothing more than a quick pass to the men's room, a Buc-ee's "ROYSE CITY" fridge magnet and a bag of the caramel-drizzled Beaver Nuggets. Easy and quick. Yes, this location has all the goodies. Fudge. Jerky. Candy. Sodas and Icees and coffee. Kolaches. Sausage. Brisket. Candied nuts. And a third of the store is decor, clothing and more. The only thing Buc-ee's doesn't have is seating. None of them do. So get your brisket sandwich, your large soda, and enjoy it in your car. That's what we did. Stopping at Buc-ee's starts way before you pull into the spacious parking lot. The signs along the highway add to the anticipation of reaching a fun trip for gas, food, sampling, shopping and a rest stop. The entire experience in the store was amazing. The Royce City location was the first Buc-ee's ever for me and my daughters on July 19, 2025. Holy cow, y'all! This the ultimate cowboy of gas stations and convenience shops. This outfit does all the main events and in style too. I used to think that beaver was the goofiest creature on t-shirts until I found a really rad top for myself ("Buc Tour Tee 2025" = $17.98). Now I'm a furry big-toothed fanatic. I also bought some ground coffee ($7.38) and an individually-wrapped caramel sea salt chocolate ($.79). Should have bought more chocolates. Lol. A large Texas magnet was $4.99. Some heart earrings for my mom were $12.98. Party plates (9-inch) were $3.99 while a Buc-ee candle for a cake was $1.99. The employees were in large part nice and friendly. Some a bit more occupied than others. But our cashier was a top hand. The only thing I didn't like was the hustle and bustle feel that I felt from regulars. Cheap gas. Clean restrooms. A place to walk my dog and allow her to do her business. This Buc-ee's was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Buc-ee's. So sad and completely disappointing!! Our family lovvvvves Buc-ee's. My hubs and I drove an hour and a half just for it tonight! It's sad to see a location that does not even try to care to live up to the wonderful, high standard, highly sought after experience of the Buc-ee's legacy. We wanted to get some chicken and fries and ofc the sliced brisket sandwiches. We just wanted to ask if there were more boxes (of the chicken and fries) or a fresh box in the back or coming out. There was a young white boy and older Latina right there. Just staring at us and then each other- trying to avoid eye contact with us. And looking at each other- like you help them. We even said excuse me, and tried smiling and waving at them to ask for help. My husband even said- it's just a quick question. It'd be much faster and easier if you just help us. Lol I walked to the center and asked another lady. Younger Latina- if there was someone who could help us and she walked over right away to get the same people's attention. Then she pointed to an older white lady who was coming through a door from the back and said she'll help you. As I went to thank her the other, older Latina woman came up to act like she was going to help us. I turned and thanked the younger Latina for her help and said "it's ok I'll wait for her (looking towards the white older woman coming out), because they were trying to avoid helping or even looking at us." Then the older Latina woman walks up to the older white woman and says can you help them please with a look as if we didn't want to be bothered with her. The audacity! I am a Latina myself which is why I'm even writing this review. 1. You can't give horrible service and then try to pretend to help when the boss comes out. 2. You can't play the race card on yourself simply because you don't want to do your job. 3. And with this Latina- you sure can't play the victim when you and your young coworker choose to be unapproachable employees in a high value customer service establishment. Maybe you shouldn't work at Buc-ee's if you don't want to uphold their quality standards for excellent customer service- or in your case the bare minimum to acknowledge another human being while on clock. One positive I will say for this location was that your cashier Shirley (an older white woman- and I only reference her ethnicity to ensure that if word gets back to anyone who cares about this review- the right Shirley gets the recognition!) at the door- was pleasant the moment we walked in till the moment we finished paying and left. First time going to a Buc-ee's! And definitely not the last. This place is HUGE, when I say huge I mean they basically have everything in store. From food and drinks to apparel and cute little gifts. Love that they offer so many different options for fresh food. I tried their chicken sandwich and my husband got the club sandwich. But honestly I will try their bbq sandwiches next time we stop by. Both of us liked our selections! They also have fresh fudge, jerky and a bakery if you're looking for sweets or snacks. The store itself was very clean and all of the employees were very friendly. I always have to get coffee and I live all the accouterments you can add at no charge. Then a quick tour of the pastries and sandwiches. Make sure you leave the store with everything you brought in; if you accidentally leave it behind, you will NEVER get it back. I brought my water bottle in to fill it up while on a road trip and accidentally left it in the bathroom and didn't realize until we were too far away to reasonably turn back and get it, my mistake, I was probably tired from driving on a road trip. Even if you fill out the contact form immediately, Buc-ee's will not notify you despite someone more likely than not finding the item and giving an extremely detailed description of a custom water bottle. They have no way to call the store directly, which likely would have solved the problem immediately once I realized it was missing. There is no email either. I had to resort to posting an ad on the Royse city group page on Facebook, GET SOMEONE TO GO TO THE STORE IN PERSON ON MY BEHALF TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER, only to be told "they don't normally save items like that, and if they do it's for a short time". I sent someone there only 4 days after losing the item & multiple attempts to contact the store, only for it to have likely been thrown away. I can't do anything about it other than try to warn other people. I will genuinely never visit the store again, I would rather just run out of gas on the interstate than give them another dollar for destroying my property with no chance for me to get it back. Buc-ee's has the cleanest restrooms in the world. Well worth a stop if you're looking for a clean restroom, they can't be beat for their snacks. The selections are vast and you can find something a Texas gift for your loved ones if you happen to be an out-of-state visitor. I finally got the opportunity to go inside one of these places. Previously I didn't have time to stop in as I traveled past one on the interstate. These places are super big I'll give them that. Inside their store they have everything. Half of the store is clothing, home goods and gifts. I spent $50 in no time buying a few little things and a t-shirt. I wish I had more time to shop but I still had many hours to drive before reaching my final destination for the day. This Bucee's needs to re-evaluate management. Allowing groups of people to sit on the sidewalk and eat blocking the entrance seems to be a lack of customer service for those entering the store. Do NOT ever buy merchandise from Buc-ee's, especially the location in Royce City, Texas. I bought a Buc-ee's t-shirt for $17.99 over the weekend. The t-shirt was in the process of being worn when a small hole was found in the fabric near the seam. The tags had been removed. I took the shirt back to Buc-ee's today and was mortified when the General Manager said that it was okay for Buc-ee's to sale defective merchandise because they could not verify the quality of each shirt while placing the apparel on the shelves. She basically stated that I also placed the hole in the garment. The General Manager also stated that any apparel that could possibly be exchanged must be unworn and available for resale with no defects. Sarcastic insincere apologies were given but I told her to stop because she was not sorry and she agreed with the way business was run. I did NOT want a refund. While I can't believe I'm reviewing a gas station, I feel like I kind of had to because of the big deal that was made about Buc-ee's and how I HAD to go the next time I was in Texas. Am I glad I went? Sure. It was definitely a different experience than your standard gas station. At the same time, did I get the whole hoopla about it? Yeah, not so much. I know that might be sacrilege to say, but there was nothing particularly astounding about the larger than life gas station. It wasn't like a Costco of deals for a gas station, and even their claim to fame - the brisket - was really just okay. I don't know; maybe it's just me. I'm a longtime Buc-ee's fan ... and can't believe I haven't reviewed the Royse City location yet! This is our one-stop shop on road trips through the Lone Star state. You just can't beat all of the tasty, Texas-inspired foods. From brisket to kolaches, you're sure to find a road trip snack to keep you fueled for the drive ahead. I'd also be remiss if I didn't call out Buc-ee's clean, private bathrooms. Seriously -- these are the best restrooms on the road. There's a reason you'll see Buc-ee's billboards that say "You can hold it" for 100+ miles. On our most recent Buc-ee's visit, we stopped for breakfast! I didn't realize that they had such a wide variety of early meal options -- from sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits to breakfast tacos, there's something for every member of your road trip party. I also always feel a bit better when I eat at Buc-ee's versus another fast food option ... there's something about watching their food be prepared fresh right in front of you that just feels good. If you have time to check out the decor and clothing section of the store, I totally recommend it! You never know what cute little tchotchke you'll find. We have a guitar-shaped cheeseboard at home that we found at the Buc-ee's near Gatlinburg. Finally, if you're traveling with doggos, this is also a solid spot to take them for a potty break. There are plenty of grassy areas surrounding the gas pumps, and several dog-specific trash cans with bags and such. read more

We were headed to our airbnb from the airport, and everything else was closed, so we came to check it out & get some much-needed breakfast groceries. Buc-ee's is so fun. It wasn't crowded, but we were not the only ones there at 1am on a Thursday. And in such a random area too! There were people making fresh fudge & nuts even in the middle of the night. On my recent visit to Dallas, I knew I wanted to make a stop at a Buc-ee's and it was amazing! This place is more than just a regular gas station convenience store -- it's got hot foods, desserts, all sorts of beef jerky, snacks, and pretty much anything else you can think of! We tried a variety of different food items offered at Buc-ee's and nearly all of them were solid. I really enjoyed their fried chicken sandwich at the hot foods section and definitely want to try some of their other bbq sandwiches in the future. Additionally, they have house-made fudge (buy 4 get 2 free!) which is great to satisfy your sweet tooth -- I LOVE the tiger butter fudge in particular. Buc-ee's is truly an experience! I think it feels like the Disney World of gas stations. This location has super friendly staff, sparkling clean bathrooms, and is well stocked with every kind of drink, snack, or food you could want. I was in awe of the giant barbeque station in the center. They have pet relief areas on the property perimeter that are stocked with pickup stations and trashcans. They aren't fenced and there's no seating, so you'll have to walk your dog on a leash. They're sparkling clean, just like every other part of Buc-ee's! I've lived in Texas for a year and a half now and today I FINALLY made it to my first Bucees! Many people have been telling me that I need to go there and that it's worth the trip. They really weren't lying. Beyond the fact that there's easily 60 gas pumps out front, you really can get anything inside! It reminds me on some level of a cross between a gas station convenience store, a 7/11, and a Cracker Barrel gift shop. I want to go back closer to Christmas and get gifts for people. The stuff is that nice! They also have a large assortment of branded merch, even $20 Bucee's swimsuits! I'm not gonna lie, I want one. Seriously! The food at Bucees has a reputation all its own, from the infamous Beaver Nuggets, jerky in a side range of flavors (I got lemon pepper), a lot of baked goods, fudge, fresh fruit, various snacks, and one of the best chopped brisket sandwiches I've ever had!!! Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the bathroom. How, seriously how, is a gas station bathroom, especially one that gets as much traffic as this gas station, this clean?!?!?!
