So, need it or not, I pulled in and pulled up to the pump. I happily learned that was the real price, NOT a sign that had not been changed in 30 some years! If you have ever read my gas station reviews, I have a thing about places who do not keep their pump handles clean. This place keeps them clean as a whistle...in other words they look clean and any germs on them from the person who used them are invisible! Overall, the station was clean and kept, it was a quick and painless in and out and I was back on the road to Big D!

So it was nothing more than a quick pass to the men's room, a Buc-ee's "ROYSE CITY" fridge magnet and a bag of the caramel-drizzled Beaver Nuggets. Easy and quick. Yes, this location has all the goodies. Fudge. Jerky. Candy. Sodas and Icees and coffee. Kolaches. Sausage. Brisket. Candied nuts. And a third of the store is decor, clothing and more. The only thing Buc-ee's doesn't have is seating. None of them do. So get your brisket sandwich, your large soda, and enjoy it in your car. That's what we did. My hubs and I drove an hour and a half just for it tonight! It's sad to see a location that does not even try to care to live up to the wonderful, high standard, highly sought after experience of the Buc-ee's legacy. We wanted to get some chicken and fries and ofc the sliced brisket sandwiches. We just wanted to ask if there were more boxes (of the chicken and fries) or a fresh box in the back or coming out. There was a young white boy and older Latina right there. Just staring at us and then each other- trying to avoid eye contact with us. And looking at each other- like you help them. We even said excuse me, and tried smiling and waving at them to ask for help. My husband even said- it's just a quick question. It'd be much faster and easier if you just help us. Lol I walked to the center and asked another lady. Younger Latina- if there was someone who could help us and she walked over right away to get the same people's attention. Then she pointed to an older white lady who was coming through a door from the back and said she'll help you. As I went to thank her the other, older Latina woman came up to act like she was going to help us. I turned and thanked the younger Latina for her help and said "it's ok I'll wait for her (looking towards the white older woman coming out), because they were trying to avoid helping or even looking at us." Then the older Latina woman walks up to the older white woman and says can you help them please with a look as if we didn't want to be bothered with her. The audacity! I am a Latina myself which is why I'm even writing this review. 1. You can't give horrible service and then try to pretend to help when the boss comes out. 2. You can't play the race card on yourself simply because you don't want to do your job. 3. And with this Latina- you sure can't play the victim when you and your young coworker choose to be unapproachable employees in a high value customer service establishment. Maybe you shouldn't work at Buc-ee's if you don't want to uphold their quality standards for excellent customer service- or in your case the bare minimum to acknowledge another human being while on clock. One positive I will say for this location was that your cashier Shirley (an older white woman- and I only reference her ethnicity to ensure that if word gets back to anyone who cares about this review- the right Shirley gets the recognition!) at the door- was pleasant the moment we walked in till the moment we finished paying and left. Nonetheless, it's safe to say- we'll never be visiting this location again. Btw- the sliced brisket sandwiches were garbage. So disappointing, but I guess fitting to match the service.

Now I'm typically the type of person that never adds salt to food, but this time both these meats needed salt. The red Chile sauce helped out a lot but I could still taste the bland protein. I was a bit disappointed, however just a learning experience. If you can't get the tacos right I just can not, and will not come back.

Go in most weeks and spend more than $200 on my lotto and wife' scratchers and about $400 during Christmas for tickets for family members. Buy our tickets once a week and today went in to find a young women behind the counter and she was clueless and I even asked if the regular clerk was there! She spent more than 20 minutes trying to do our tickets and wife's scratchers had winning amount of $150 and this seem to mess her up too! She had trouble running my tickets that have been done there for more than three years. After she finally gets the lotto finished I told her now we can get wife's scratchers which is always $120-$150 and I gave her the numbers for about $145 and now checkout time and she only puts $40 dollars in tickets on the table. I then ask where are the rest of the scratchers and she said she started something else and didn't hear me so we had to start over. At check out she says bill $315.00 real price was $233.29 minus winnings of $150 which much higher over charge and I ask if she took the $150 winnings off and was told yes. Still confused I went to the car and rechecked letting her take care of the customers standing there because she couldn't do her job and then found she double charged me and went back in. I was thinking this women does not understand her job but after pointing out what she did I think it was on purpose from her actions. She called I'm guessing her boss then refunded in cash the over charge. After all this and more than 40 minutes in the store she tells me not to come back to this store again which is fine with me. I'm guessing she understands I know this was on purpose as she being dishonest was trying to get part of our winnings. I ask if the regular clerk was here some other day and was told its a family run store and do not return. That is fine as we can buy our gas and small items else where and lotto. Lunch here gets crazy, they do receive phone orders but not during lunch rush 12-1. Service is always good you go to the counter order your food and they give you a ticket for your meal purchase and if you need to get a drink or anything you just show ticket and pay. The tony can come in single meat or double, fried egg, bacon, grilled onions and some mayonnaise sauce that is good. Meat is crispy and seasoned perfectly, bacon is thick and crispy, grilled onion just give that extra. It's worth a visit, I mean it truly is I can't stress it enough.
