Labor Day travels, I found myself stopping at Buc-ee's, 506 West I-20 near Hwy 80, Terrell, TX. Nice to experience was the great service, clean, organized store, friendly smiles and greetings from the employees. It was the jerky counter where Shawn was so helpful as people lined up waiting their turn to order favorite tastings. People were buying "pounds" of bulk jerky. Two huge display cases with several shelves in each were filled with so many different flavors. I tried and purchased different 3 flavors that were all so delicious! * Boheman Garlic Beef Jerky Bulk made with beef, brown sugar, salt, soy sauce powder, and spices. * Steakhouse Beef Jerky Bulk was another favorite made with beef, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, molasses, and spices. * Honey Jalapeño Beef Jerky Bulk. A surprisingly great taste with just enough kick but not too hot. It's made with beef, honey, brown sugar, beef stock, vinegar, jalapeño powder, salt, spices, and flavorings. Fyi, if you are in a rush, there are other locations, separate from the bulk counter, within the store where you can select from prepackaged jerky. Buc-ees is something that needs to be experienced. This Texas sized rest stop has the largest selection of road trip snacks I have ever seen. Not to mention full sized meals of BBQ, sandwiches, and Tex Mex. Be prepared to be overtaken by the sheer size of the place and the mobs of people that make it feel like you are stepping inside a Walmart. Plenty of clean bathrooms means there are no waits. The good was friendly people a good icy and convenience. The bad was a nasty barbecue brisket sandwich not worth almost $9.00. This is the second encounter craving a chopped barbecue beef brisket sandwich. This did not turn out well. The first time I was here the chopped beef brisket sandwich was less than enjoyable. Today was just a really sad excuse of a sandwich there was just things in with the beef, which I did not feel should've been in there. It did not even taste all that great at all. I love Buc-ee's. We travel between East Texas and DFW often and our midway stop is Always Buc-ee's in Terrell, Tx at exit 498 off of IH20. We usually get sandwiches just like we did yesterday. I got the Fried Chicken sandwich and the wife got a BBQ Turkey sandwich. This review is about The BBQ TURKEY SANDWICH! Myself I am no wimp when it comes to spicy seasoning. The wife is sensitive to spicy but can usually handle the seasoning on the BBQ beef and pork without any problem. We got home last night and put the sandwiches in the refrigerator. I had my Chicken sandwich last night late. The wife left her BBQ TURKEY SANDWICH until this afternoon. She warmed it up cut it in half and headed off to the TV room. A few minutes later she is back in my office with 3/4 of the BBQ TURKEY SANDWICH telling me it is TOO SPiCY for her. Anyway, she left the rest to me. I finished off 1/4 of the BBQ TURKEY SANDWICH and I have to say that although the flavor is good the heat in the spice could be backed off a bit. I now again that is just me and my wife's opinion. I might in the future get the BBQ TURKEY SANDWICH but I can pretty much assure you the wife will not. Still a 5 star stop for any and all road trips. read more

I brought in a return, and I apparently waited too long (it didn't fit, but still had the tag; it was new, excellent condition, never worn). I had to wait about 15 minutes to talk with a manager who looked at it and said I could exchange for an exact or higher-priced item. I looked for something, and then came back to the counter as instructed, and a new manager said that I could no longer exchange the item. So I wasted all that time. If you haven't heard of Buc-ee's by now, you need to stop and visit this location ASAP. If you are familiar with the chain, I will leave it up to you. Buc-ee's is the place for clean bathrooms, decent food, and a whole lot of people. There are also a bunch of knick-knack items and clothes for sale. The end. But wait, there's more..... The Bathrooms - For real, the cleanest public bathrooms you will find. The only cleaner bathrooms I have found were someplace I had to pay at a truck stop in Port Allen and that place closed. The food - If you want kolaches, they have that. If you want beaver nuggets (whatever that is), they have that. If you want a brisket sandwich, they have that. Pro-tip: You have to ask for onions pickles and sauce. What neanderthal eats a brisket sandwich without pickles, onions, and sauce? Not this neanderthall. The employees - They are the friendliest group of gas station employees on earth. After looking at their wages I know why. The other people - Buc-ee's is a slice of society. You will see every type of person who exists. Friendly people waiting for brisket? Yep. Rude people, who will knock over a kid for a kolache? Yep. People wearing clothes seven sizes too small as they strut amongst the beaver nuggets or pose with the beaver statue outside? Yep. The people watching is extraordinary. The gas - cheap and plentiful. You will, however, find many people who fill up and wander the store for an hour blocking the pumps. You would think the 100 or more pumps would always have some available but you would be wrong. Pump and go park somewhere lazybones. Good luck getting out of here for under $100 if you have kids. PS - The ice coffee is bad unless you load it with stuff. read more

I was visiting in town and was recommended to drop into this store. We were much impressed with the variety of items for sale. They had everything from gifts for loved ones and a full deli section selling brisket by the pound. And they have much much more, our visit was brief but we quickly purchase some nice souvenirs for friends and family and some delectable chocolates to take home. I have to say, I expected to think Buc-ee's was overrated and that it wouldn't live up to the hype. I ended up falling in love with it. It's huge and pretty overwhelming, but awesome at the same time. The snack selection is awesome. Getting the Buc-ee nuggets is a must (we tried several kinds and loved them all). The bathrooms are super clean. My husband and I were impressed by the prepared food too. We tried: - Sausage and Cheese Kolach - Brisket Sandwich - Hippo Breakfast Taco It was all fantastic for gas station food. Came here for the chargers that were advertised , when arrived they were all blocked off and not working, went inside to ask a team lead about it and they acted like I didn't know what I was talking about at first then got rude and said they were out of their control , never had a bad experience at bucees . This location felt like the workers didn't care at all and were extremely rude. Totally goes against their " brand " do not recommend if you drive EV!!!!! Got dragged out to Terrell, TX one day driving from Dallas and was basically on E the minute I arrived. So, with there being a Buc-ee's in the area, I couldn't pass up on the chance to stop by and fill up. I came here around 1-2pm on a Sunday, and I will say I must have picked a busy time to come.. almost every pump was taken and this is Buc-ee's, where they have what feels like around 70-80 gas pumps to pick from. I was able to find somewhere fairly easy though despite the traffic, and the gas prices were great. After filling up, I definitely made time to stop inside as it's always worth the trip. The inside was crowded, but the lines at the registers weren't bad. Of course, EVERYTHING looked good, from the roasted peanuts to the banana pudding to the overall BBQ selection. I ended up getting a sliced brisket BBQ sandwich, but they had chopped brisket, pulled pork, and others as well. They also have an impressive soda fountain machine selection with three LARGE size cups to pick from that vary from 79, 89, & 99 cents. So, basically nothing to get a drink you can take on the road with you for hours! The men's bathroom was spotless as always, which is amazing for how big it is and how many people come here. Lastly, the staff was amazing and willing to help wherever needed. All in all, definitely recommend this Buc-ee's if you're in the area! read more

Plenty restrooms and mighty clean! My favorite food items in Buc-ee's are Sugar Coated Pecans and the small Cinnamon cookies that come in a plastic square container. However, my trip yesterday found both of these items sub-par. Definitely a reduction of the sugar content in both products. Huge place, completely packed with customers...but they are reducing quality? Won't stop there next time through. read more

This place is amazing! I live in California and on my spring break visit to see my sister in Louisiana we made a stop. She told me I had to experience Bucees. This isn't your ordinary gas station. It's as big as a Walmart and has something for everyone. The deli was packed and they were cutting meat and serving hot food! You can get almost any type of snack there and even home decor. We had just stopped in One along hwy 10 in Alabama coming from Florida that was AMAZING. We stood in aww as they chopped beef and were making all the sandwiches. The young man did it with pride. This one was a later time, so may have something to do with it but... The chopped beef was anything but chopped. Maybe chunked! With fat. Chicken sandwich was soggy. Just something about this one, not as friendly. They did not have a basket with condiments to the side, like other locations. I had to ask a guy behind where they make the sandwiches, and he made me feel like a bother for extra little bbq tubs. Tenn and Alabama one were so good we couldn't wait to stop at this one too! Will mark off my list, for fresh food anyway. Also I asked about Reubens, they looked at me like I was crazy. So maybe all do not make the same. I love Buc-ee's so this review breaks my heart to have to write, but even the best don't get it right all the time. Take a look at my picture. This is what my $9.74 chipped beef sandwich included. This was the biggest piece of fat, but there were 2 others that had to be spat out. I am requesting a refund for sure although I don't know what will happen since I am 100 miles away by now. Passing through Texas on the way to NV, we had to stop at the Buc-ee's! I've heard nothing but great things about this place, so I had to see what it was all about. The staff was very friendly! We were greeted upon walking in, the woman working the jerky counter gave great recommendations and let us have some samples, and the cashier even had a very pleasant attitude. Buc-ee's is like a giant everything store. The store itself is huge and it's so hard to believe this is a gas station! There are tons of gas pumps so you're sure to snag a spot. They have carts and baskets for your items because you're sure to grab a lot! They have so much stuff from hot and fresh food to cold food, jerky (get the cherry maple!!!!) , sweets, household items, supplies, lots of drinks, tons of food, clothing, you name it. This is really a one stop shop! Im going to say it again, please get the cherry maple jerky. You also have to get the beaver nuggets!! Corn puffs with a sweet caramel coating. Sooooo good. My only complaints are the brisket in the sandwich/taco were pretty dry :( and the gas pumps that are in the 200's are only pay at the pump and I don't feel safe doing that sometimes. I was heading into Dallas from the East, and saw that there was a Buc-Ee's on I-20 just after my turn-off to head into the middle of the city, so I decided to skip my exit and figure my way back once I had grabbed some provisions for the evening. Buc-Ee's is always an interesting experience. It amazes me how busy they always are, despite my never actually getting gas there. I go for what is inside, namely their sandwiches, which are excellent. This location is no different than the rest, and had everything I needed... I grabbed a couple of pulled pork sandwiches and checked out, then headed into the city knowing I had an easy supper once I had checked into my hotel. read more

Buc-ee's was a stop I had to make while making my road trip across the US. I was so excited right when I stepped foot in the store, I didn't know where to look first. All the food looked so fresh and delicious. The smell of the pulled brisket was so fresh as they cut it right in front of you, however I decided to order the crunchy chicken wrap with a side of small fries. I wasn't expecting much from the fries but they were one of the best I have had, the chicken wrap was filled with crunchy chicken and yummy cheesy that pulled. I had a bite of their teriyaki beef jerky and that was delicious as well, a must try! The Customer Service was excellent. A worker went out of their way to find me a medium sized shirt after looking everywhere she found me one! They were very welcoming at the entrance of the store. read more

This location was buzzing with happy folks. The atmosphere was friendly and we were greeted by staff as we came in. We were offered multiple samples while in store and the scents of bbq, candies nuts and Christmas candles was in the air. We got brisket sandwiches and chips along with sweet tea and dark chocolate salted caramels. All delicious as always.
