In Terrell for a Saturday 6 p.m. wedding and found the Terrell Farmers Market while driving around town on Saturday. The Farmers Market is not large but it is loaded with local produce and other culinary items. Jan was very excited over what they had to offer, espically when she saw the purple hull peas. I'd never heard of them. She was even more excited when she found them in the fridge already hulled. We ended up purchasing tomatoes, green tomatoes, okra, peaches, purple hulled peas, butter beans and cantaloupe. We also bought a box of WhistleStop (one word) breading mix for the green tomatoes. We fixed green fried tomatoes as soon as we got home. They were excellent. The cantaloupe was excellent. The east Texas peaches were excellent. The okra, peas and beans are in the freezer. read more

A great little local farmers market. They have a really good assortment of fruit and vegetables. They also have some items that are jarred, such as salsas, jams, etc. I think everything is reasonably priced, plus it's all local/organic, which beats the store junk any day. I believe they are open most days of the week too. The guy that has always checked me out is very nice and very helpful! read more

I discovered Terrell's Farmers Market on Facebook a few months ago. I wanted to purchase fresh peas and veggies for the winter. They didn't have any in stock so I called about a month later and they had fresh peas in stock. I didn't know how many bags to get so I think I went a bit overboard. I purchased black eyed peas, purple hull peas, cream peas, pinto beans, okra, corn, pecans, peanuts, fig preserves, watermelon, sweet potatoes and honey. They have more veggies and fruit to choose from including other preserves. The prices are a little higher than I expected to pay but I still made the purchase. I paid with my debit card but was told they prefer cash. :) My husband tried the watermelon and he said it was ok. I made a homemade sweet potato pie and the sweet potatoes were ok. The purple hull peas were just ok. I'm not sure if they were picked too soon but they didn't meet my expectations. If I decide to come back, it will be for the fig preserves and honey. The staff is friend and are very helpful. I think the produce came from East Texas. Call ahead to make sure they have the produce in stock. read more

Excellent customer service. I moved back to TX in 2005 and have been going here since discovering this place then. The woman and man that work there are super friendly and helpful. From fruits and veggies to plants and eggs, THE BEST veggie stand around. When the kids went on to the militant college, we became a family of just two, and they let me just purchase partial items, as in I didn't need 4 squash or cus at a time. It is so awesome to see them still in business and doing well after all these years. read more

Best place for all kinds of produce,vegetables and other items. Juan and his family are so nice and friendly, always willing to help and always with a smile. Customer service is fantastic, great staff! Will miss this unique place during his off season but hey maybe we can talk him into taking a short break and opening to sell many other things, Christmas trees, holiday treats just to name a few. He could take many breaks lol Just a thought but he and his family deserve a break because they work so hard during his open season! Thanks for everything to Juan,family and staff!!! Talk about customer service. Though they close at five the manager waited an extra 30 minutes to make sure I was taken care of. It's mostly an open environment, who needs masks? I've flown over a dozen times and we "damask" for food and beverage. So if you need to wear a mask and gloves, nobody is stopping you. Don't criticize a business because they don't. read more

Sad to do this but I'm extremely disappointed. Drove from royse city hoping for a great farmers market and what we got was not that. We bought several items since we drove so far , we did notice that almost everything appeared to be bought from grocery stores and then placed in these wicker baskets for display to make them pretty. They pour what you buy into plastic shopping bags when you pay. Yes they did that to my blackberries. They were ruined when I got home. Absolutely ruined. The guy working there was nice enough and I hate to give them a bad review but I will never go back. I will look for a little stand along side the road!! read more

My friend & I traveled from Rowlett last of July or 1st week of August I bought apricot preserves, cream peas, okra and watermelon I loved! Loved! This is an absolute joke of what a farmers market should be, I'm astonished that they are still in business. They say "farm fresh" produce but they are not telling you IT IS NOT FARM FRESH NOR IS IT ORGANIC, organic means non GMO and no pesticides used. If you look on ALL of the produce there you will see the PL# numbers on the fruits beginning with 4 instead of 9 meaning they are either genetically modified or sprayed with pesticides or both. 9 means naturally grown with using no pesticides and no genetic modification. If I wanted to eat this shit fruit I could just go to Brookshires where they sell the same genetically modified garbage, PLEASE SUPPORT ORGANIC FARMERS AND ORGANIC STORES ONLY NOT THESE LIARS WHO WANT YOUR MONEY AND DONT CARE FOR YOUR HEALTH. #healthiswealth #knowledgeispower read more

A lovely small town farmers market in our little Terrell! Their offering of fruit and veggies was very nice. My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit! Jarred pickled beets were very tasty too! The owner was great and even carried my stuff to the car!! And it's open almost every day!!! read more
