Catering department is top par!! Market street catered our baby shower even and everything was delicious and tasted fresh. The catering team made our cakes and cupcakes that were loved and devoured by our guests. We were stress free with no worries about running out of food and the presentation platters were pretty. She had everything ready for pick up and we were able to feed 50 hungry guests with plenty of leftovers. Everyone loved the food and team was terrific in answering my questions and assistance with food/drink selections. We plan on using them again for birthdays and more events! First time here today and can't wait to come back. Margaret had cookie samples for us when we walked in. Our picky toddler said he didn't want one and Margaret pulled out a basket of kid snacks for him. She found us later in the store and gifted us her last two stuffed animals. Market Street is my go to grocery store. It is the perfect medium between HEB and Central Market. Their prices are reasonable and the store is very well kept. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. There are two locations in north Texas area - one in Allen and the other in Plano. Both have Starbucks located inside, which is nice. The quality of their food is good and they offer a ready to eat section - premade food that you just gotta pop in the oven or mirror wave. Makes life so much simpler. A unique service the store offers is staff helping you personally with your groceries to your car and helping you load your bags. Such a sweet and helpful gesture. read more

This an update concerning the pharmacy. I have used this pharmacy for prescriptions since they opened. They have the best pharmacists and technicians! Unfortunately, they seem to generally be out of stock of the medications, I fill here on a regular basis. Well it looks like I'm going to finally call it a day with this pharmacy. (Well, probably not, just saying). Only because they can't seem to keep meds I use on a regular basis in stock. Makes me sad. I really like the small town feel I get from here. The big box stores like Walgreens and CVS generally seem to have my meds in stock. I've been reluctant to move, I really like the employees here. I hate the anxiety it causes when I can't get my medication. I understand some of the shortages. But, this is nuts! Time to give up on that port and sail on! March 2023 read more

It appears Market Streets "Face Lift" is almost complete. This store was about 15 years old and they've given it a much needed face life. It looks and feels more efficient and modern. It's a smallish store by today's standards which is it's drawing card for me. They still have plenty of " live" checkers which meets my needs perfectly. Your groceries are sacked for you( remember that!) And you can even request paper. The prices seem to have moderated for the basics which is what used to keep me away. What's not to like. read more

I used Market Street several years back to cater my daughter's wedding and it was wonderful! This weekend I had the opportunity to host a very special bridal shower and I was absolutely blown away by the attention of detail and quality of the food. I received so, so many compliments of the taste and presentation of the brunch foods that I chose. More than that, I ordered floral arrangements very last minute and I (as well as everyone at the shower) were blown away by the beauty of them . Every single person I encountered at your store (I really wish I could remember the names) were kind, professional and courteous and offered great suggestions'! I have been to one of these in another city once before and they are a neat store to visit. It isn't just groceries, they also have a few different delis and lot of fresh items. Today I mainly came in to use the Starbucks inside. Place was clean, staff was friendly. Market Street I so do wish you were closer to my shopping base. In fact I wish when they remodeled the Albertsons down the street, they would have made it a Market Street! I'm so hooked on the deli tortilla chips. Mmmmmm! On our last hike to Allen we of course had to make sure they made it into our shopping card. While shopping in the deli section we purchased an individual margarita pizza. We grilled it on the grill and ate it for an appetizer. Yum! I was also excited about what was available in the bakery, lots of seasonal ideas. These adorable thumb cookies are going to grace my Thanksgiving Table. They taste as yummy as they look! I started going to Market St. on Bethany for about three years. I would initially buy only their apple turnovers and baguettes, which were both by far the best in the area. Over time I began buying deli meats, vegetables, meats and fish, all of which I have always been happy with. Unfortunately, the two items which initially drew me to this store have both become a major source of frustration for me. The turnovers used to be flaky, now they are always soggy. The baguettes still taste fine; however, now they are literally half the size that they used to be. My suggestion would be to cut the price in half. It is an insult to their customers to still be charging full price for a half baguette. I started to substitute Bear claws for the turnovers and now they have also gone downhill. Because of these negative changes I now make markedly fewer trips here. I do go occasionally hoping to find things back to normal. Unfortunately, still the same. I have to believe that I am not the only one that fells this way about the Bakery department. I know that it has to be affecting overall business. I know that I spend a lot less there. read more

I normally go to the Market Street on Preston Rd and it is my Favorite store to go to - they always ask me how my day is and give genuine smiles. After moving closer to Allen and have been going to the Market Street at the Allen location I don't feel the same good energy as I had received at the Plano location. 5 stars for phenomenal management, but I'm really upset about our cake this year. We have gotten 8 birthday cakes for my soon to be 8 year old son, and they're always so pretty i don't want to cut them. I called the bakery, I asked them to make a Pokémon cake. I was told "we don't have the rights to Pokémon, i cannot make him a Pokémon cake." And i was sad, I'm in the middle of a divorce, this is his first big birthday party, so I asked for a yellow sheet cake, with red piping and "happy birthday Gavin"....I know it'll be delicious, but it's incomparable to what we have always gotten. I walked in to pick up my cake, and the cake catalog was open, to a POKÉMON CAKE. I asked the lady "I'm sorry, but I was told you guys do not make Pokémon cakes. But i see one right here..." She immediately tried to right it, and was going to make me the Pokémon cake, but i live 40 min away, so, i said "no, it's ok, i don't have time." So, I pulled a Karen. And talked to the manager, and they fully refunded my cake (thank God because I'll probably have to spend $30 on Pokémon stuff to fix this cake. MARKET STREET in Allen, TX -- A so-called "manager" with very low customer service and people skills. I have been a UNITED fan and customer since my days in law school in Lubbock, TX (1988-1991). Have always given them a 10 on a scale of 1-10, and likely will always do that EXCEPT for their Market Street located on Bethany in Allen, TX. Was in the store tonight at 9:53PM . . . barely got the attention of a fast walking "manager" to ask a question. He abruptly answered me . . . I asked a second question and he harshly stated that it is "on the next aisle" . . . I followed him, he motioned to the shelves and said "you have 7 minutes!" (Store hours were scheduled to end at 10:00PM) I replied "yes, I know" and he rushed away. NEVER have I experienced this in a United store or their Market Street stores. Would love to know if this "manager" has ever been required to attend even an elementary level course in customer service, much less any other soft people skills course. I simply left and drove to their competitor Tom Thumb less than a mile away. Was treated like royalty. WOW! Shame on you United for allowing this behavior in your Allen, TX store. I come here pretty often and the employees are always friendly and helpful, especially today. I was by the sandwich area earlier and decided to create my own sandwich. Because I'm vegetarian, my options when ordering out are usually pretty limited. So I didn't really know what other toppings I could put in my sandwich. When I mentioned this to the lady helping me, she offered to saute some vegetables with cheese and put it in my sandwich. I was really grateful for her help because not a lot of places I go to would be that accommodating to my diet. I never got her name but it was an older lady with long blond hair in a ponytail. If your staff members could accept tips, I would have given her a big one. But since y'all don't and if you read this review, please find her and give her a raise. :D read more

On 4/14/2022 I shopped at the Market Street on 985 W. Bethany St, Allen, Texas. I have been shopping MS for quite awhile due to the "small town feel" & stocked shelves, knowing I was paying a premium but considered the experience worth it. The "customer service" experience this last trip totally changed my perception. I saw an item on sale on the MS app & but the item rung up at the regular price. The sweet cashier told me the manager would make the price adjustment at the end of the transaction. She called the manager "Terry" over to do just that & he refused to make the adjustment saying "NOPE!" over & over. I am one of those people who never complains about *anything,* nor do I *ever* make a scene. I politely showed the "manager" the app & the sale price & he said he wouldn't make the adjustment because "the price on the app was wrong" & it "wasn't his problem." We all looked at the description of the item on the app & agreed it was an exact match. He said if I wanted the item he would charge me full price & that was that. I stated I no longer wanted the item but it didn't seem right that a sale price was listed on the app & the store wouldn't honor it. Did he think I had somehow manipulated the app? Did he think I was trying to pull a fast one one the store? Was he admitting to a "bait & switch" operation because "the app developers made an error?" After a few minutes of Terry arguing that he wouldn't make a price adjustment he finally said in disgust, "FINE. Just give it to her!" and stormed off. I have never in my life argued to purchase a product from a store & been treated with such disrespect. I emailed "customer service" on the website & received an email saying they were "sorry I had an unpleasant experience" & they "would forward my email to the store director." The email was a standard copy & paste blah blah blah & didn't set well with me. I don't know exactly what I expected (as I have never encountered such an issue with a store "manager") but an email full of incorrect grammar & misspellings just didn't cut it. When I saw the email address originated from the Albertson's, Safeway, Tom Thumb group, I realized why the customer service at Market Street was no longer at the high level I had come to expect & enjoy. UPDATE: My review was replied to by "Dawn, the Business Owner" & I was instructed to go to the United website & submit my contact information so she could contact me directly. I did as she asked, twice. I received the same standard "customer service" responses from the representatives with no knowledge of Dawn's reply to my review. The Market Street inside Watters Creek Plaza is good for buying cakes. When I moved to the area, my hopes were high for Market Street since it's "considered" the best in TX to my surprise. This particular store is not well lit, the prepped food is mediocre, customer service is lacking since they never acknowledge you. On a few occasions, the employees have been rude when asked questions. I do like the bakery section and recently ordered a birthday cake for my son. The cake was delicious and he loved the Disney's Cars decor. Another positive is that they have a Starbucks inside. They also have the most beautiful flowers. They are average due to the lacking in several categories. But decent if you need a quick visit for certain things. read more

We shop here only because it's a mile away from our home. And we're anxiously awaiting the opening of the new HEB under construction in Plano. I would hate for any business to have to close its doors because of competition, but this Market Street had better start improving its inventory levels, it's slow reaction to out of stocks, inferior produce and questionable help. While checking out the checker continued to cough in her hand. She couldn't get her scale to work and kept taking my produce out of the bag and touching my produce with her hand she coughed into. A manager came over to help with the scale and had no issue. She continued to cough in her hand and touching my items. Dropped two items on the floor. The lack of hygiene was crazy! This is a beautiful location located in watters creek and large compared to frisco! The bakery dept is so nice and they do a great job with wedding cakes! And for a fraction of the cost and the same taste! I love their premade meals and meats. They push your cart to your car and help you load your groceries too which is different. I was looking for a cake for my daughters second birthday, this bakery came highly recommended to me so I ordered about two weeks in advance. I picked it up the day prior to her party at the scheduled time, I didn't look closely prior to leaving the bakery (my fault) but when I got home this is what I saw, the cake was cracked and was lumpy, partly lumpy because the lady in the bakery stuck the side of the box into the cake while trying to show it to me (they just smudged the icing over the spot to "fix it") I'm VERY dissatisfied with this $50.00 cake. I have stopped by the Market Street in Allen many times and am astonished how there are not as many working behind the cooked meals section or the sandwich area. My wife and I usually go there for lunch every other month and breakfast a few times. Customer service there needs to be reviewed and the management team should observe how customers are waited on. You know HEB are getting more and more stores in this area because there is a lack of customer service. This morning my wife and I stopped in for a quick breakfast before work at 8:45 am and no one was attending the station. Some lady was working in the sandwich area, walked right by us and made eye contact with me because I assumed she would wait on us. She said nothing but walked into the back. I just don't understand why she couldn't have said someone will be with you shortly. Finally after a few minutes I noticed another lady walking towards me from the front of the store, assuming she had to take a restroom break, and then took my order. At the Market Street down from my home in McKinney, they have many workers waiting on morning customers for breakfast. I have never seen more than one worker at the Allen Market Street waiting on breakfast or lunch for a hot meal. I just wanted to express how confusing that is to compare Allen and McKinney stores. I also think there is some lacking at checkout in Allen that needs addressed. Customer service wise and manning the checkout area. I have seen some pretty long lines. read more

I am well aware these are trying times, but seriously, when ordering online for pickup, I was given the impression that these items were being reserved for me. There was a SIX DAY lead time for pickup. I was counting on these items, because again, was of the impression they were reserved. Today we get a message that they are out of them items. WHAT?
