I have always found Walgreens a pleasant experience. Although I don't like the pricing strategy…read morethey developed to compete with CVS. In addition I believe their prices in general are getting outta wack. However, today an allergen hit me outta nowhere so I whipped in for my go to eradicator, Alevert. Non drowsy and works every time. So,I guess I shouldn't complain about the $30 a box cost!!! Plus, the young man at the check out was the perfect employee. Engaging, professional, helpful.

I'd like to give 5 stars for the store lead and for the regular Walgreens employees. The lead is…read moreamazing, and he actually cares about the customer experience. Around 4:00 today, I requested a refill for my elderly, Spanish speaking mother. She's traveling out of the country for thirty days, and the pharmacy manager mentioned that insurance stated it was too soon to refill. This is understandable, and she said she would start the process of a vacation override, and to come back, to this specific location, prior to 7:00 when they close. At 6:45 I approached the drive up window and spoke with Danielle. Danielle was quick to alert me of the same, that the insurance wouldn't allow a refill without a vacation override. I explained that I understand, and attempted to explain my previous interaction with the pharmacy manager. Danielle was dismissive and argumentative, and without actually listening to what I had to say, kept stating that there was nothing she could do. She stated we had to start over again with the insurance company. Understandably we were frustrated. She said I needed to get out of the drive through line and come inside. She said she had other customers to help. What am I? I asked if she could give me the phone number for the insurance company. She said no, and stated that it's on the insurance card. I stated I did not have the card with me, and again asked for the number. She said she couldn't give it to me because she was "busy" and again told me to come inside if I wanted to be helped. Begrudgingly, and even more frustrated, I parked, went in, and attempted to address the situation. She handed me a paper with the insurance company's phone number, and was beyond rude about it. Before I had the opportunity to even explain the situation, her manager, the pharmacist proceeds to intervene, and was yelling and condescending. His name was Jerry, and he would not allow me to speak. He kept talking over me, yelling, to the point where, I admit I lost my patience and I told him to "shut up". I apologize for my reaction, but I was beyond frustrated. He kept saying that this is his store, and that I can't speak to him that way. Well, I wouldn't have spoken to him that way had his team been helpful, or if he had actually approached the situation in a manner that was helpful. He started out argumentative, and only continued to escalate the situation. Ultimately he called for the store manager/lead. Thank God he did, because he was the only one who took the time to listen, and address the actual concerns. As the lead attempted to work toward a resolution, the pharmacist, Jerry, continue to spew unhelpful, unfriendly comments. In fact he went as far as saying that even if we for the "vacation override" that he determines whether or not he will dispense the medicine. It made me feel like no matter what attempts I make with the insurance company, or with his colleagues, that is intentions were to cause problems and be anything but helpful. In fact, while talking with the store lead, another customer made a comment to him that she witnessed the tech (Danielle) having an argument with someone in the drive through (which was me), and felt that she should have been kinder and more understanding and professional. Needless to say, we are back at square one. Typically Walgreens has served as the liaison between myself and the insurance company, helping to navigate the red tape, and ultimately assist in getting my mother's medication filled. This didn't happen. In fact, it couldn't have been handled in a worse way. We understand the delays insurance can cause, but what we don't understand is the unnecessary aggression, nor the demeaning way in which any of the pharmacy staff handled the situation. Danielle and Jerry needed to be reminded of who they are there to serve... their customers. I am going to spread my experience far and wide so that other customers don't have to deal with the same nonsense.

Torn between 3 and 4 stars... Be prepared to have to call to fix issues. Last month I opted in for…read moredelivery but I got a text saying it was ready for pickup. When I called to find out where my RX was they said they didn't have it marked for delivery. I gave my address over the phone and paid for it so obviously I wanted delivery so I finally got it a couple of days later after I had already run out. I live in Dallas and it is a huge hassle to drive to Allen for me so delivery absolutely makes the most sense. This month I ordered early just in case. They asked me if I wanted a 3 month supply to get a discount so I was charged for that but only received the exact amount my dr prescribed for 1 month which allows me to adjust my dosage as needed. They tried to say it was because of the way the doctor wrote it but it doesn't make sense when my previous RX was for a higher dose. If there was a discrepancy then they should have called the doctor to confirm. Luckily they refunded me the difference without much fuss but I was looking forward to a discount on a 3m supply. This time I'll assume it was just another mistake made by the younger male pharmacist and not trying to over charge me. I'm sure I'll keep getting this one RX from here but be mindful and check what they give you. Hopefully next month we can get it right!

Allen Family Drug is not your ordinary pharmacy. Yes, they can fill traditional prescriptions but they also specialize in custom or compounded prescriptions. I especially love that they are local and family owned. A pharmacist and nutritionist spent an hour with me discussing specialist, treatments and a variety of options that I didn't know was available to me until today. Thank you Allen Family Drug.

The pharmacy techs and the pharmacist, Andy are extremely unprofessional and wildly complacent. I…read morecame here to get some antibiotics for my 6-month-old and I went through the drive-thru and the pharmacy tech improperly resuspended the med and it left a clump that was not dissolvable. We called and reported it and came back (walked in) to get if fixed. A different pharmacy tech tried to tell me that the suspension was fine and we just had to mix it harder (lady we were violently shaking that dang bottle for ~10 minutes straight to no avail). The bottle was opaque so I brought a flashlight that could reveal the clump, and she looked at me like I was foreign (no lady, I'm not trying to give my 6 month old the improper dosage of meds). The pharmacists proceeds to say, "just give him a new bottle" and she comes and gives it to me and says, "make sure you're satisfied with it". I replied "isn't your job to ensure that EVERY customer gets the proper medicine? It shouldn't be my choice or satisfaction". It was insane that I had to remind them that it was their job to ensure all medicine was properly prepared BEFORE giving it to the customer/patient as they are the trusted professionals with YEARS of experience. The group then proceeded to tell me they are doing their job and making sure the customer happy and it dawned on me that other meds they have prepared could be improperly mixed or similar looking pills could be mixed up with how complacent the attitudes were. Awful attitudes...awful work ethic...the writing on the wall is these disgruntled people will run this location to the ground. If you have a choice, I would HIGHLY recommend you go to another pharmacy. If you go here, I urge you to double check (google) what meds you're getting and they look right.
