I decided to make some homemade pickles and went to this Kroger because it is so close to our home. I needed some fresh dill and horseradish. They were out of dill. I did not see any horseradish so I asked the man who was working in the produce section if they had any. He pretended not to hear me. So I repeated my question. He gave me a look like "WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME?" He said he did not know what horseradish was. I told him it's a root vegetable. So, first he pointed to where the bagged lettuce is located. Then he said, "I only work this half of the fresh produce, you need to ask someone else." That my friends, is the epitome of customer service at this Kroger. I have despised this Kroger for a long time for bad service, empty shelves, deceptive adverting, produce that has no taste, etc etc. The only reason I go here is because it is close. But it is far down my list of preferred grocery stores. read more

Their cashier Eva over charged me, I was buying mixers for a party and had sodas, topo, juices, tonic, etc. they have ads saying buy 2 sodas get 2 free so I got 12 total. Should've been charged for 6 sodas after the rebate but no, I was charged for full price 12 of the 24 packs. Also I noticed right when I got in my car this woman had charged me for 4 topo Chico when I only got 3. She was rude saying I don't need to put all of my products on the counter 'cause she knows how to count. Apparently you don't 'cause charged me extra for topo and for sodas. Got my topo Chico but still overpaid for the sodas. Either she doesn't count good or is just messing with customers to benefit the store. I give this store 2 stars because it is literally over ran. Kroger Corporate does not show this place any respect. Allegedly there was an update this Fall but this place needs to get torn down and just start over. The employees are constantly complaining about everything to each other while customers bag their own groceries up front. Produce is usually stocked but today it looked sold out. This Kroger just keeps getting more and more sketchy. Apparently, theft has gotten so bad, that they now have armed security guarding the exit. The shopping center itself is also slipping, with panhandlers and homeless starting to appear in and around the parking lot. One night I stopped in and passed a homeless woman sitting on the sidewalk with all her possessions. She was clearly mentally ill or tripping on something, as she was wildly gesturing and talking to herself. Neither the store employees nor their security guard seemed to care. This is on top of the questionable quality of their food. Be careful when buying anything refrigerated in the produce section. Their lettuce, be it fresh or bagged, consistently starts to turn soggy or brown within a day or two. Specialty bread products from the bakery department also turns moldy very quickly. And finally, they sell out-of-date condiments. I bought a bottle of sandwich spread that tasted so gross that I fed it to the dog after just one bite. Turns out it had expired a couple weeks earlier. There are several additional bottles of the same product still on the shelf that have expired 3-4 months ago. they clearly don't check their stock, so be sure and look at the expiration dates on everything you buy. The only reason I even go to this store is that it's located less than a mile from my house. Unfortunately, the stores in Casa Linda are too far to drive if you're in a hurry or only need 1-2 items at the last minute. read more

I am out in about running errands in Dallas the other day. I am shopping with my son, his fiancé, and my grandchild. The experience I had in this store left me a little shook. I am a Kroger fan. I shop at Kroger or Fry's wherever I am at. I walk into the store with my family and we go to the sushi. Those individuals are nice and thank us. I walk past the bakery and deli the women their are nice m. I get to the lunch meat section and their is a gentlemen putting signs on the cooler. I say excuse me and go into the next cooler. His door is wide open and in not paying attention I accidentally touch his cooler door. I caught myself and apologize. He didn't acknowledge my apology, rolled his eyes and said something about people like me. Hold up! I just apologized. If it wasn't my future daughter in loves birthday, I would have gotten a manager. Next up we are checking out lane one or two. I watched the cashier be super nice and pleasant to the customers before me. I came up and I spoke first. She hardly acknowledged me. I have a certain debit care that I use for certain items. I couldn't find it. So, I was about to send my son to the car to look. I found it before he could leave out. The non-speaking, rolling her eyes, smug cashier, while smacking her teeth we didn't acknowledge me in the first place. It wasn't like I was holding up the line because the next person in line was my future daughter in law. The cashier kept huffing and puffing. I promise this experience made me want to put everything back. But my grandchild wanted her cereal. Maybe I caught this small neighborhood store on a bad day. Maybe since I am not a regular, I was out of place. Will I give up on Kroger. No! But I will probably never shop at this location again. The ladies in the bakery and deli, also the sushi maker saved this experience from being a negative one. read more

This Kroger was really rough! It was difficult to navigate the aisles around the store.The checkout lines were very long and everyone waiting moved to the self checkout for convenience. Well, the scanning machines were not working very well and we spent over 15 minutes to checkout with less than 10 items. Management needed to open more checkout aisles. Man, I dislike self checkout as it places people out of work. However, the staff that work here are some of the best...and they made everything a little more palatable! Kroger has a monopoly in the neighborhood- and they aren't afraid to show it. In line at 9:50. Light goes off. Checker leaves. I asked "what the fuck is going on?" And was told all checkers close at 10. Not happy. Went to self checkout. Waited for five minutes for someone to clear my beer purchase. Finally done? Nope. Trying to pay, and was told "checker gas been called" - another five minute wait. I'm so fucking furious with the situation. I debated between walking out, or just leaving with my groceries. Don't get me started on the understaffed aspect, or the recent decision to be restocking constantly. I literally had to turn around because I couldn't get down the aisle THREE TIMES. read more

This is our friendly neighborhood supermarket. We shop here for most things. I say most things because the fish/meat selection is just ok. The staff is friendly. They have several self checkouts so you can get in and out fairly quick. Accumulating points throughout the month to use for fuel savings across the street is an added bonus. read more

Worst experience EVER in the curbside pick up. They got my order wrong 3 times. The first time they gave me the wrong order and I had to take it back up there to switch it out. I waited forever in the parking place, even though I called the number on the sign and gave them my parking space number. There was one other car waiting for groceries. Just two of us! Once I got back home with the correct order, there was nothing correct about it. Wrong flavor Gatorade, but no one said they were substituting. Another grocery item was wrong as well. I called them for the third time and asked for a supervisor. They put me on hold two times and the third time, it just kept ringing with no one answering. Never again! For the love - please REMOVE the Spectrum sales people from the stores. It is SO annoying to be trying to get your produce while you have sales people haggling you. It makes for a horrible customer experience. I've actually skipped items just so I don't have to go near them and get haggled. This store has gone way downhill. Never any carts. Women's restroom door doesn't even have a handle. Witnessed one employee harass and threaten another. Bugs on the produce - which the majority is often no longer good or completely out. Boxes just lying around. This store desperately needs new management and whoever in corporate thought it was a good idea to put sales people in the stores that have nothing to do with groceries needs to be fired. The one on Northwest Hwy in Dallas, TX is dirty, there are never enough carts, the packaged food, canned foods and meats are past use date and they stopped carrying Minute Maid High Pulp orange juice with vitamin D. They take forever to answer phone and the department that they then connect you to never answers. Very, very badly managed. It has become painfully clear that Kroger value's profit over quality is their long-term business plan. I just visited my local Kroger at Northwest Hig and Plano Rd in Dallas, and as usual, "fresh is not even close to fresh". Apparently, Kroger had a different definition of what fresh is! I went there to purchase Swiss Chard. All of which, was slimy, wilted, and bacteria ridden. Shocker! Clearly, the Lego characters on their advertisements aren't qualified at any level to judge the freshness of produce. It's also become painfully obvious that Kroger is less concerned about quality and service than they are profits. The night before last I witnessed two employees in the meat department in a verbal throw down about what is their responsibility. The one thing that I heard that really stuck with me is when one of them yelled,"they don't care about us. They only care about profits!" Good job Kroger! You're now in the same game as the airline and petroleum industries. Record profits, while your customers and employees suffer! And...you now want to monopolize our state by buying out Albertsons and Tom Thumb??? I think not! read more

Let me share with you our experience following Kroger's recommendations. First off. Ignore their recommendation to use restraint and not bulk buy. Second, do not use the online purchase/pickup option. We did and it was a huge mistake. Background: Saturday 3/14 we debated going shopping vs. avoiding large crowds. We decided to avoid the crowd and order online for later pick up. Big mistake. Kroger had not thought out or planned for this and unwittingly screwed over anyone trying to do the right thing. While we waited patiently for them to fill our order Monday, they allowed people to strip their store bare on Saturday and Sunday so that they had no supply to fill the majority of items on our list and which we had had already purchased. They had made no provisions for filling pre-orders. So, don't believe Kroger when they advise not to overstock. Go to the store yourself, practice good hygiene, and get what you need. Massive failure of foresight and planning on their part. read more

Went to get groceries . Everyone was nice except the guy in the meat dept . I saw him mark down some meat . Then he went to back and came with meat to put out . I was looking around and saw the fajita chicken meat that I buy but the date was up . I asked him if he would please mark it down for me . He said no I can't the gun is broken and we had to send it out to get fixed . I know that was not so as I saw them use it a few minutes before . Got some gift cards as you got 4X the points . Got the fast foods that we always eat at . Now when we go to those places will have gift cards to use . And got the extra points to use for gas . read more

Also if they get rid of that pissy old lady, Betty, in the deli that acts like she has the worst job in the world and wishes most people would leave her alone. Gabby in the bakery was amazing! It was the day of the ice storm. I was working the night shift in the Emergency Room and It was my girls 10th birthday that morning. Was in today to get a money order for rent. I explained to the man working that I needed two separate money orders, for two separate dollar amounts, and placed two separate cards in front of him. He then proceeded to ring me up. I swiped my card, only then to realize he charged my card for the entire amount instead of splitting it. I explained to him that there should have been two separate transactions -- which I thought I made clear when I asked for two separate money orders and presented two different cards. The gentleman then proceeded to argue with me about how I didn't "explain" to him that my total needed to be split. Instead of 1.) apologizing for the error and 2.) asking how he could make it right, he chose to argue with me. Customer service reps should know better than to argue with a customer. I just left your place, and sadly and I think it'll be my last trip. I know my wife quit visiting you a few years ago, but I come back because you are just so convenient. This is my local store. I can drive there in less than 5 minutes. I drive 20 minutes out of my way to shop somewhere else and were it not for my need for toilet paper, I would not have been there again today. After waiting for the checker to sigh 4 times, stare at me blankly, lean down to rest his head on his arms, he finally started to scan my groceries and send them to the bagger. Actual conversation with actual Kroger employee: "Do you want me to bag this?" Oh, no. Don't exert yourself, sweetie. Just continue to wear your bagger title proudly while you check your phone, flip your hair, and watch my stuff just pile up. My son needs a job and this place would be perfect, however I have told him that I would rather he remain unemployed indefinitely than think this is how employees are allowed to behave. read more

Customer Service is dreadful!!! This is my go-to store, but it has gone downhill terribly. I was just in there a couple days ago and while there were about 5 employees/management staff congregated at one of the end caps telling people which line to go to - I had to bag my own groceries and the prices have gone up in the last week. I stopped by the CS desk and commented to the lady behind the desk, about having to bag my own groceries while 5 employees stood around chatting it up. However, the meat department guys are great!!!! I really like this neighborhood grocery store. The prices are very good and I can almost always find everything I'm looking for. I appreciate the great employees (Jordan, Jeannie, Ben, Ronald and Lance are awesome!) and the overall customer service has consistently been friendly and courteous. Kroger is a good place to go when in a pinch. Store has an older feel to me that was recently remodeled a little bit. Cashier service is a mixed bag. Some can be friendly while others are ready to get you through the line and onto the next customer. For the most part, this store does stay stocked and the sales can save some money on basics. read more

It's dry. I double-checked, and triple-checked, walking through the aisles, wondering where is the beer? I thought I saw the coolers from behind, but turned out to be the floral section. This was a surprise to me- I didn't realize that I now live in a dry area. Here's an overview of what the store does offer: Produce- mixed bag. These are the saddest bell peppers I have ever seen. ever. But regularly, I have been getting some amazing strawberries at good prices. Meat- good selection. Bakery- I like to buy Italian Sweet Bread- it looks like french bread but has a sweetness to it. This bakery makes them, but they are always a little over-cooked. Check-out- they have self-checkout, which I consider a huge plus. So why shop here? Because the closest alternative is Albertsons, which has funky lighting that makes all the food look weird. read more
