Five star service!!! I went in as a out of towner, staying for a week, that knew nothing. Their food selection was on point but more importantly every employee I came across was super helpful. They provided useful tips for staying in town, what to see/where to go, and a few people even chimed in on where to avoid. I'm usually better at getting names so shame on me for that, but particularly helpful were the deli lady and the Starbucks girls, all of whom were working the morning of 12/26 at 10 am (hopefully that helps their bosses recognize them) The prices seemed good but admittedly I was in vacation mode (where money doesn't matter until you come home) and the service was top notch, but do yourself a favor and stay out of the men's room!! I came to grocery at 10:45pm and the doors were locked but the grocery store was still b open. I got in because someone cane out.bi went to check out 2 minutes before and Javone complained how he has kids to feed and he wanted to go home. So unprofessional and rude. The store is OK, clean and organized though product selection and availability is lacking compared to other Tom Thumbs. But their customer service SUCKS. There's never anyone at the desk and when you need to do things like registration renewals or money orders they always have excuses as to why they can't do them. read more

I ordered for same day delivery, Nothing. Nothing the next day. They cancelled my order the third day.

Do not use their delivery service. Tom Thumb employees are shopping your order so they always chose the oldest items, or the items closest to expiration. I dont even attempt to order bread anymore because it's always hard and stale. I ordered some burger sauce last week and the expiration date was less than a week away. They aways do this with everything you order, saltine crackers...everything. Use Whole Foods if you're getting your groceries delivered. read more

You guys should absolutely consider training your inventory loss management people and how they implement their training when it comes to watching customers. I was made very uncomfortable by an African-American lady with dreadlocks as she faked ring up groceries and talk very loudly on the phone while basically standing there watching me. Meanwhile, there are women walking around stealing porterhouse steaks and she's watching me ring up groceries and pay for everything in my order. Let's just not make it so obvious it is supposed to be under cover. It's very offensive. Also I do understand you guys are short, staffed and struggle every day. It seems if you pay your employees fairly or give them hours,we could get a smile but a smile never hurts. Everyone is walking around, looking very miserable and overworked and underpaid. And I am watching all the African-American employees speak and show customer service to the Caucasian customers , but they frown and look away at their black customers and also follow them around the store not this is not OK. I love Tom Thumb. It's the Dallas version of Safeway. Ever since I first bought my office nearby, this has been my go to supermarket when I am in the DFW area. Like Safeway in Cali this is a good supermarket. I find some pretty good things to buy that are native to Texas. If you live and work in the area, it's a place that's not to miss. "Hello Mr. Wang, welcome to Tom Thumb". Yes a cashier actually said that to me. I love the layout of this store. It's very satisfying and yet so relaxing just like some small scale Safeways in California. Such a sweet market. If you want to buy some stuff to bring home after eating at a high end restaurant nearby this is the place for you. I had some donuts bought here and they were very good. If you work in the area like me, it's a great place to grab a bite to eat and save money. read more

They sold my wife a cake that had mold on the bottom. It was not visible and only found when the cake was cut and consumed. Several people who consumed the produce became sick, no one seriously but caused discomfort. She took the cake back and showed them the issue. They offered her no apology nor compensation (other than refunding the purchase price) and pushed her off to their insurer, who concluded it wasn't their fault but the fault of the company who produced the product. In short, they dodged responsibility and offered no responsibility. Had they offfered an apology and perhaps a small compensation (gift card or similar) this would have been a non issue. The handling of the store management was poor and not responsive to the customer. We now shop at Kroger even though Tom Thumb is much closer to our apartment. Convenient stop after visiting the museum. Found what I needed easily and quickly. No complaints.

This is my favorite Tom Thumb in the whole wide world. I love to come when I am in town. They have so much more selection that the other locations and everyone is so inviting. There is a Starbucks, a pharmacy, and a bar/restaurant I think-I didn't pay too much attention. I love the prepared foods section. There are some really yummy steam-able options like shrimp with rice and veggies, salmon with asparagus, shrimp fajitas. Easy to grab and take home. The employees are always friendly and the store is bigger than you would expect, but easy to maneuver around. They validate parking in the attached garage for 90 minutes too! read more

Popped in here to grab some groceries while staying in the downtown Dallas area. Not far from where I was which was nice. They had plenty of options food & drink wise, including alcohol. A deli, hot & cold bar & a bakery area. Friendly staff. Clean, stocked and organized. read more

This associate named 'Mitzi' started yelling at me for no reason. I asked to speak with the manager at the Customer Service desk and the manager asked what was it about, and that she would't come. I asked again for a manager to come, so that I can make a complain about this associate named 'Mitzi' according to the manager, not sure if the manager made up this name and this manager was not helpful at all. I told her that I would call the corporate office and make a complain about both of them and then the manager said that she was gonna talk to 'Mitzi' but she never did and just left. This manager who was working today at this location is some Mexican woman with a horrible customer service and no experience as well as the associate named 'Mitzi' some older cranky lady with a long gray hair. I told her not to yell at me because I am a customer, if she doesn't have any patience, she shouldn't be working here, and that I will report her to the Tom Thumb's corporate office. I cannot believe what happened! I'm disgusted by it! I don't know who was worse, this lousy Mexican manager or this old cranky associate Mitzi. I do not recommend Tom Thumb to anyone, and I am going to leave the negative posts all over the internet. This experience was just horrible!!! read more

This had got the be the worst Tom Thumb ever. First time I came here cashier charged me incorrectly for my item. Tried to give it another chance twice and both time Apple Pay did not work on the registers. This is the second time I've had to leave my groceries at the register because the Apple Pay they advertised did not work. On top of that the cashier tried to charge me wrong again until I pointed it out. There's a Tom Thumb down the street in deep Ellum, I recommend that one if you don't want to over pay and second guess if you're going to be able to purchase your groceries. read more

Living in suburbia, I wasn't a huge Tom Thumb shopper, but as I moved to the area I've become a huge fan for several reasons. 1) it's in walking distance from the new spot, so that's always a plus. 2) everything and I mean everything in the store is well kept, fresh and presentable. 3) they have the nicest staff. You can find exotic fruits, hot made to order donuts, hot foods, salad bar, Starbucks, a restaurant with beer on tap....you name it. Plus, the free parking is a plus when I don't feel like walking. Grand Opening! Was expecting it to be chaotic but everything seemed to be running smoothly. Customer Service from every employee was top notch. Lots of delicious samples that I can't wait to purchase. Even with the limited number of check out lanes it didn't take but a minute to get through the line. I am new to Dallas and am still getting used to the grocery store chains that are located here. Prior to moving here, I'd never shopped at a Tom Thumb. However, I quickly realized that it seems to be one of the most popular grocery stores in Dallas. I decided to do my shopping one Friday night and thought that I might as well give this Tom Thumb a try. My GPS led me to this location with no problems (even being a newbie transplant driving in the dark lol). Upon arriving, I realized that the store has garage parking. You can get your ticket validated for up to 90 minutes. Just don't forget to ask at check-out! Getting from the parking garage to the inside of the store requires the use of an elevator. But don't miss the cool murals on the wall just inside the glass doors from the garage! This store is newly opened, and you can definitely tell. Maybe it's because it was Friday night, but the store associates seemed to have every item in perfectly neat order on the shelves. I'll have to visit again during peak hours to find out lol. I was able to find everything that I was looking for, unlike in some other stores where shelf re-stocking can be delayed. Restrooms are located inside the cafe/restaurant within the store (another awesome reason to shop here). I felt perfectly safe both when arriving to and leaving the parking garage. I love this store, Located in the middle of everything and across the street from my place :) Produce selection is always filled with beautiful and fresh fruits and veggies prices are about the same like everywhere so, why should I drive anywhere having Tom Thumb so close? Bakery is the best, I've bought a birthday cake last week and everyone at the party asked who made it... (of course I said that I did haha) They also have a florist store that always have beautiful arrangements and decorative candles. I love the cleanness of the entire store! Parking is always available and their nice customer service associates are always there to stamp our parking ticket for us not to pay for parking... I would like to mention James Edward who is my favorite person in the store, this gentleman is always in a good mood and has a great attitude. I live across the street from this location and work upstairs as well. I'm here almost everyday! It's a really nice and clean Tom Thumb. Grocery wise they have everything I ever need. Love the fact there is a bar near the front of the store and my fiancé loves the Starbucks in the store as well. They have fresh hot food served daily for a quick meal and they can also prepare a meal too like sushi, tacos, hibachi, sandwiches, and much more! Tom Thumb has a reward card which doesn't cost any extra which is good for saving money. They have a huge wine/alcohol area which is just handy to have. I love coming here to grocery shop as well as come for lunch! So glad I live close by. read more

Decided to check out one of the closest-to-downtown full scale grocers Thursday night after a gig I did in Plano. Wasn't sure they would be open, but signage says until midnight. Similar to WF, in uptown, parking is mostly underground garage parking and a sweet escalator ride up to the main floor. (It's also accessible on Street level.) Honestly, I thought this store was going to be a "Lite-Version" for NO reason. I'm dumb! It's completely full-scale. I thought it was a bit chilly, but I bet it was be super comfy, come Texas summer!! BONUS: there's a full service auto detail service in the garage. The store is well organized and always clean. However the parking and having to remember to validate your parking ticket is a hassle. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The cashiers are rude, lazy and steal from you. I saw how one of the cashiers charged me for a snicker and then put it to the side. That same evening when I got home food items were missing. Today I went to buy cat food and when I got home I realized I was missing 24 cans of cat food when I called the girl I was transferred to was quick to reply and say no you didn't forget it here there is no bags of cat food left here. I don't know if she thought that I wasn't going to go back but I did, and as I walked in the door I said I don't know who took my bag but i certainly didn't get it. Suddenly she said oh it's here, so if it was there all along why did you say no it isn't here when I first called. Not only did I have to pay for 2 additional Ubers that in the first place I shouldn't have if they would have done their job but I certainly didn't even get some store credit for their fuck up. Also the every time we purchase meat from this place it's bad my boyfriend got food poisoning from eating their meat. I would stay away. I was SO excited for a grocery store to open so close to my house! This place is beyond a normal Tom Thumb! It has underground parking garage, with easy elevator access! Just make sure to bring your parking ticket inside to get it validated! Inside the store: this place is HUGE! They have amazing flowers! The Starbucks is always good here:)! Items are well placed and easy layout! groceries: the only downside to this grocery store is my fresh produce doesn't last as long as other grocery stores... not sure why, but items such as the pears or cucumbers just don't last as long.... they also randomly didn't have original rice crispy treats, but they had a ton of other options like m&m rice crispies or other flavors. Easy dinners: this place has easy premade meals! They have fried chicken and rotisserie chicken made fresh! The premade bar has delicious chicken salad as well:)! read more

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I've seen nice grocery stores before, I've even seen clean grocery stores, but this Tom Thumb in the ROCK STAR of Grocery stores! I hardly know where to begin.... First, everyone in the store was so nice. Every employee down to the buggy-boy were nice and willing to help you if needed. I know, I know, that is their job, right?! But you just don't get that everywhere. Never in my life have I every walked down isle after isle and everything was neat, stocked, front faced, organized.... it was like I was on a freaking movie set - it almost wasn't real! If anyone is planning on applying to work on over night, let me tell you it is a terrible idea. The overnight stocking manager Alex is terrible and cusses a lot. Really unprofessional and expects the workers to know "what they're doing" on the second night of working. Terrible night management, the company should fire him because a real manager is professional and helps their workers to be better together but this man named Alex does not do that. Update/ 1/2 the lemons were rotten: I keep trying to like this store but between the ppl bagging my food - (tomatoes with a bottle of OJ milk and cans in one bag, that make one bag impossible to hold - bags so heavy they break ( today I actually had to ask the bagger if that was a reasonable weight to pack - bag of onions a bottle of 31 oz broth and 2 cans- I mean just make it a reasonable amount of food in a bag - and to now add stale and rotted food multiple times - it takes too much energy to go back to rerun stuff but I don't think I have had so many stupid issues ( that I should not have ) with a grocery store on a constant basis ... read more
