I am a creature of habit, but mess me over and I will drop you like grabbing a hot potato while not wearing oven mitts. Life is too short for that mess. So when I say I have frequented this Kroger location for almost the entirety of my 15 years in Augusta, that means something. I will also note that means I stuck with them through the early waves of COVID-19, as they had already implemented curbside pickup months before the statewide shut down. I have seen the location go through major renovations, including product placement and the increase of self-checkout lanes. But some things (and very important ones at that) have remained the same. The customer service here is universally top notch. From team members who bring out your groceries and load them in the trunk to the person overseeing self-checkout to the pharmacy, they are always helpful, patient, and kind. My interaction with the bakery has been minimal, but it too has always been a positive experience. I appreciate their overall selection, their organic-all natural options, and yes even their clearance section (it's like a treasure hunt every time I visit). One item I feel is underappreciated is their in-house sushi. You can get a single roll (only $5 on Wednesday's) or order an entire tray. Quality at a great pice. Also worth mentioning is their NA options. Samuel Adams, Guinness, Athletic Brewing, and Hop Water are all there. I will be coming here until the day I depart Augusta. read more

A large store with a reasonably prominent location. Their produce was okay at best. Self checkout lanes were reasonably plentiful. For special dietary items, the non-dairy dairy and such, this wasn't a good store. The areas for things that were "plant-based" were inaccurately labeled, and even a dedicated search revealed a modest selection of almond milk, tofu, and other similar items. I found a few things worth buying in the store, but it was not the best Kroger I've been to, and I'm not a huge fan. read more

There is never anyone OF AGE in the meat department to cut meat! It's ridiculous! And to have the young man that is there with a flip attitude is even worse! I love how enormous grocery stores are in Augusta. This one is huge and brightly lit. Plenty of merchandise here and an extensive wine collection that's fun to browse. My parents bought a ton of fruit here to make sweet crepes. We also bought some meats to use for savory crepes. Everything turned out great! There is also a giant parking lot. read more

Kroger is my go to store and I normally go there 2-3 times a week. I went today to do my normal Sunday grocery shopping. There was a bit of a line for the self checkout, but I got in and out fairly quickly. They always have ample parking and tonight it was busier than normal. I love Kroger because they constantly have sales that are truly sales and you can also download coupons on your Kroger card to save even more. Pretty consistently has all the sale items or will issue rain checks. Produce manager rocks love the specials. I have also noticed additional staff during peak hours and prior to big holidays. Wished parking was easier especially when they close it down to only one entrance and exit door. This location is pretty decent. Been here many times. Usually when I can't find what I want at LIDL I stop here next. They always have a good variety of things I'm looking for. I love that they have snacks from around the world to include a bunch of kosher food. I'm not Jewish but I like the bamba peanut snacks. They also have the frozen veggie pastas I like. David the Pharmacist was an absolute lifesaver. I had a perfect storm occur, falling in between refills of a prescription with very strict rules while on the way to a long overdue vacation. David was able to untie the knot of policies regarding filling out-of-town prescriptions and had me back on the road to the beach in less than 10 minutes. Just to let you know it's all about the rice and the way it's made and it's good here at Kroger because fish will always taste like fish. This Kroger gave me anxiety as soon as I walked in! Granted, this was a Sunday, and there was a football game on that afternoon. I was coming through on my way to a get together and wanted to grab a veggie tray on my way to the destination, so I stopped here to grab one. There were TONS of people moving about the store, the parking lot, and everywhere. I didn't venture too far into the store, as what I needed was really right in front. From what I saw, the store is HUGE, and probably has everything you'll ever need from a grocery store. I come to this Kroger's sometimes when I'm in the area or I can't find something in the one I normally go to. It's a pretty up-to-date store and very clean. The staff is friendly and makes sure your needs are met. They always have several sales going on at a time. The only thing I have a problem with is that this store is the totally opposite of the store I'm use to. So I have to search for things that I would normally find in an instant. Since the time i reviewed Kroger for the first time, I have been into the various locations in Augusta. If it weren't for the fact that you can get my hubbs' favorite cold Starbucks Coffee there, I wouldn't go in. There's just not enough offered there (that Publix or Whole Foods doesn't have) that keeps me interested. The gas perks are nice but it always seems that no matter how much I spend, I only get .10 off my purchase. Although their locations are convenient to my daily travels, quite a few--notice I didn't say ALL--of their employees (I love Ms. Faith of the Washington Road location) lacking in the soft-skills I need to keep me going back. Once at the Columbia County location, I realized I had forgotten my driver's license in the car after standing in line for a minute. I was hoping I would get a pass on using my ss# (the actual card was with me) along with numerous picture ids to make my purchase but was told a firm "No! We need the driver's license!" by the manager. Ok I get it but I was up front and she wouldn't look at any other forms of id. So 30 minutes of my life waisted that I'll never get back. Believe me--if I had stolen someone's identity, I sure as shootin' wouldn't be buying unsweetened coffee! So I just left my bag with the cashier. I did say "Sorry" but she looked disgusted with the manager as well. One last note--I never use the self-serve lane. First of all--I don't get paid to bag my own. What if I get injured? I love this Krogers and would go here if I needed to find a hard to find vegetable that Publix doesn't carry. I've often run around to two or three different grocery stores for root vegetables but found that I could usually end up finding everything I need right here. The staff is friendly here, the aisles are much wider and the meat selection is great. I remember when the ice storm came down and this place was getting liquidated. Food was flying off the shelves but the place was still pretty calm and collected. Kudos to the staff here. read more

My go to grocery place in Augusta. Of all,the Krogers that I frequent, this one is nicest. They have a great selection of organic foods. I like the people who work in the deli- they do a nice job slicing my meat as I like it. I'm pretty picky, I like it nice and thin! I've had good service when I've had to deal with customer service. This Kroger was finished about a month ago, I guess, and it is beautiful! I love the super-huge bath and body section and the very aesthetically pleasing produce section which many of the Krogers I've been in lack. It also boasts a hot-foods section and fresh soup refrigerator. Such is why I've dubbed it Whole Foods Kroger...which is much more appealing than the Murder Kroger which happens to be closer to my place, but much less tempting to shop. Very very poor experience with curbside pickup. Arrived during my pickup window and have been waiting 2 hours now for my groceries, an hour past my pickup window. No option to pick them up myself or cancel order. Called 3 different numbers to try to pickup from inside and no one is answering. Have seen 1 employee the entire time delivering the curbside, but takes about 20 minutes in-between each individual car when he goes back inside. Line for pickup is wrapping around parking lot. Store really isn't that busy at the moment. I feel bad for the employee, I understand it's not his fault, but 5 people have gotten out of their cars to inquire about what is going on and several cars have given up and left. This defeats the purpose of curbside pickup to avoid going into the store and scheduling a window to ensure timely pickup. Managers should reallocate sources/employees to help resolve this backup or at least have talk to customers/answer the phone to help explain the issue. I am sure there is a reasonable explanation behind this, but it really is causing excessive inconvenience. 30 minute wait? Understandable. 60 mins? That's Okay...2 hours and counting? A bit frustrating to say the least. read more

For being a relatively new building, I am very displeased with the condition of this store. As usual, the lazy Augustians leave their carts in parking spots and not the cart stations. The parking lot and shopping carts always have a significant amount of litter in them. The employees are slow to clean up the carts and garbage, too busy on their phones outside. Overall, the store has a dirty feel to it. I blame the management, or lack of, for these problems. If it wasn't for the cheap prices on the common items, I would never shop here. read more

This grocery has to be one of the worse managed stores in Augusta. Routinely they only have 2 checkout lanes (other than the 12 "work-for-me-without -any-pay" self check out lanes) while customers stand in line 6 to 8 deep with large orders. It seems that the managers do not choose to assign anyone to help the customers bag their groceries. The have no problems stocking their shelves with abundant Kroger brand items, but will stock small amounts of name-brand food over in the corner of the shelf. By far, their nicest location in greater Augusta. Their natural foods area and cheese counter are semi-comparable to Whole Foods down the road, often for the same or cheaper price. Also, their seafood and meat counters offer a better selection than some other locations, not to mention a decent beer & wine inventory. This kroger is not the easiest to get into or out of as far as accesing it from both sides of the street. Although the kroger appears to be clean it just feels dirty to me. I believe that a poor layout and narrow aisles lead to this perception. Then again dont feel they do a good job of stocking the shelves because it just looks like they throw product up there instead of organizing it and making it look neat. Although this store is a larger kroger I do not feel the selection on every day food items is as good as the smaller kroger I normally frequent. Too much of the space is used to try and sell things you would expect to find at walmart as opposed to a grocery store. Their wine and beer selection is very good. We've used several grocery stores in the area, and Kroger definitely has some benefits. If you use your Kroger card, there are discounts on lots of things, particularly canned foods and meat. Recently, with the rising gas prices, another benefit is getting gas at the Kroger gas station where you can use your Kroger card and get a discount that is based on your spending inside the store. I got 20 cents off a gallon one time (usually only 3 cents off), which was good because I was empty and had to put 25 gallons in. read more

I have shopped and worked at many Kroger stores, but this one has some issues. There was no one at the customer service counter to help out me or the other customer who was there first. That was only the beginning of the issue, because the cashier who was checking out some customers ignored me when I asked if anyone was working at the service desk. When I finally got her attention I asked if she could call anyone, which she didn't until I asked her a second time. Publix is dandy, but Kroger has better prices and overall more selection (found cilantro for half the price it was at Publix). The store layout is kind of weird- the separation of frozen items, for example. Just put it all together in one section!You also need to join their rewards program which gives you discounts on gas for the more items you buy in store.
