First time getting food from here as it was recommended from a coworker. I must say, I was quite surprised that the food was good. We ordered the family tender with fries and biscuits. I think the tenders could have been cooked a little more, they weren't as crispy as I would have liked them. The fries were pretty good and my favorite were the biscuits. They were pretty good, especially with the honey in them I would suggest when you get the tenders to ask them to fry them crispy and that would put the touch on it. Their home sauce was good too! My colleagues brought chicken and biscuits from Krispy Krunchy a few months ago, and every single person was asking and raving about it - it was SO good, especially the honey biscuits and the Cajun chicken tenders. Wow, I don't think I can get chicken tenders this meaty and fresh from anywhere else. I always take off the crispy skin (I know you're asking "then, what's the point?" - well, the point is that I don't want to work out extra hard after eating that, lol), but you if you like crispy, then it's perfect here. Four big pieces of chicken tenders (with two sauces) and a biscuit cost me $6.34. Additional sauce will cost you .50 cents extra, but you really only need two sauces (the original sauce and the bar-b-que sauce are all you need). This place blows Chick-fil-A away! Not sure where my orignal review went for this place, but the chicken tasted great, just felt like it should be cooked longer. The meat was chewy and suspect for my party wings. The customer service isn't that great. Guys at the register are rude. I left my soda there after I paid for it and they didn't even bother to let me know or accommodate me when I brought it up the next few days when I came back to buy more chicken. Oh and they charge you 75 cents for ranch smh and I had to get back in the long lane to pay for it after I had already paid for my chicken. Customer is big for me so I will NOT be back. read more

I have a legit fried chicken addiction. I'd like to consider myself a connoisseur of it. This is hands down THE BEST I've had so far, even better than my momma's (but she doesn't need to know that). My parents used to own a fried chicken shack so I have cred. I am currently interning at the Kaiser in Richmond and I had my first taste of this delectable guilty pleasure at a potluck. Nurses love potlucks, and nurses love good food. These nurses are all addicts of this crack-chicken and that's when my love affair with "gas station chicken" began. Fried chicken from a gas station? Sounds like the beginning of a bad case of indigestion but no, this place serves up some delicious halal fried chicken. The Cajun tenders were juicy and the breading just right. The fried chicken had some skin that was maybe a little over done but the meat inside was still good and well cooked. And the honey biscuits were soft and delicious. Definitely would recommend. Just don't be scared to get out of the car ;) read more

Its hard to imagine that gas station fried chicken and biscuits can be among the best I have ever tasted, but yes, its true, just turn off your sensory receptors while buying and ordering and withhold judgement until you have tasted this fantastic treat, and yes, its cheap. We placed a order like a huge order for about 40 plus dollars of fried shrimp and the shrimp taste like some shrimp that were already made and were refried to sell to us. We order from Krispy Krunchy all the time and have never experienced this. So I called and told them that something was wrong with my food. A guy answers the phone and says he is the manager his name was moe. He didnt try to help me at all. I said I would bring him the food back I only tasted one shrimp it was disgusting. From the outside you may say oh no I don't want to go there, but trust me, the food is every bit worth it. When you step in the combination gas store and krunchy chicken store, you will notice that it is very clean and illuminated perfectly. Then you see the chicken, ahh it looks beautiful. As we approached the counter the owner greeted us warmly and left us to make our choice. The chicken and sides are kept hot and fresh at all times. We started talking to the owner and he explained to us the dynamics of franchising and why he thinks the chicken here is better than other alternatives near by. He said that KFC doesn't drain the blood from their chicken well and as a result the meat has a bad smell when being eaten; and he was right! The owners of the store are Muslim and as a result the food served is halal. And man oh man is this food good. This is without a doubt the best chicken I have ever had. Because of the meat being halal the blood is drained completely the owner explained and boy does it make a difference, the meat tastes very clean and is tender and the seasoning shines through the crunchy exterior perfectly. Took 2-stars off- lost a star for overcharging me $10- it's just 10 bucks yes I know but it's the principle- shady business is a no-go- the itemized bill was for $83 but my card was charged $93 and that wasn't for the atm fee. My bad for not checking right there - don't judge it's 62 pcs of chicken for a party. Krispy Chicken lost half a star for the jambalaya - that was not pleasing to my tastebuds and was a waste of money. A half a star was also deducted for selling chicken in a gas station- although I guess it's okay, but it just wasn't appealing- hopefully they pass their health inspection. Its true that throughout the South you kcan get a full meal at many gas stations so when I saw this place on yelp and was driving through Richmond I said I'd give it a try .
