Hardy box of 16 pieces of dark meat chicken.
Theresa R.

Thanks to other Yelpers, we tried this little hole in the wall, mini-mart, in Richmond - for better than the chain store, tender fried chicken!! I thought I was at the wrong place, to be honest. Once inside, they have a real deal set up, no-nonsense counter, and a sweet order taker who will crack a smile if you smile at her, taking your order quickly and efficiently. You then walk over to the mini-mart cashier, 4 feet to the left, and pay for your order and whatever other mini-mart grocery must have. I then waited for my order while watching how much perfectly, hot and fried, chicken was being produced behind the counter case. It didn't have time to sit under a heat lamp, it went into the container to my box within minutes. We ate a hardy meal of chicken, mash potatoes and gravy, Mac n cheese, red beans and rice, Cole slaw, fries and shrimp. Admittedly, the sides were just ok, in comparison. The flavors were there, but they were packaged beforehand and sat, so they didn't taste as fresh. You know that chicken was still crunchy and delicious eaten cold, the next day! Wow.

Halal Fried Chicken

Being from New Orleans, gotta love seeing some Louisiana-based fried chicken joints in the Bay Area. What's extra awesome about this spot is that they use halal chicken, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. I typically get a mixed bucket of chicken, with some biscuits, fries, and Mac n cheese. I have had their tenders and boneless wings as well, but you have to get their chicken, biscuits, and fries. You can ask them to sub drumsticks for wings if you'd like as well. They have a lot of sauce options, so ask them before you leave so you get what you need. It's at a gas station so parking is easy. Check them out!

The best chicken around. This location is always fresh and the chicken is always seasoned properly. I will drive further to come to this location. The chicken is delicious. Don't let the fact that it is inside a gas station deter you.

look at that cajun sauce inside! SO GOOD

Where would I find the full menu WITH Prices? Thanks

Only inside the gas station. Each location has their own prices so they won't be listed online other than Yelp.

I came once but I don't see any Halal food certified kind of sign in store , how we can know it's halal . Please put anything in store so all Muslim community people come and enjoy food?

HALAL CERTIFICATE IS POSTED ON THE COUNTER 💯 % HALAL

Salaam , I wanted to find out if the jambalaya and the chicken rollup is also Halal?? I got concerned after I ate the sausage in the jambalaya

YES, HALAL CHICKEN & HALAL BEEF LINK ARE PUT INTO THE JAMBALAYA

It's a great location to check out whether you're eating in or getting takeout / delivery. Being a chain, I was looking forward to seeing how the quality of the food compares. First, I tried the onion rings and these are perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. The coating is not thick and still light, which holds onto the onion very well. Next, I tried the hot spicy whole chicken - the half portion. For the price and value, I really enjoyed it! The chicken pieces are all evenly coated in the sauce, which has a balance of both sweetness with a light kick to it. The breading of the chicken is also airy and not heavy at all. Despite the chicken being drenched in the sauce, I did not find the texture to become soggy at all. One pro tip is that if you have leftovers, I recommend popping them into the air fryer so that they remain crispy. I was able to try the wings of fire, which I was really hyped about. I was fully expecting the wings to be on a 'burning' spice level, but I was able to handle it! If you do have a lower spice tolerance, I would recommend using caution if you're trying it but for the spicy food lovers, it's not as extreme as I thought it would be because the sauce was also sweet. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it! Although it is advertised as having 8 wings total, I actually got an extra one so shout out to the workers! This completely exceeded my expectations - as one person, I even had leftovers and was able to make the food stretch into multiple meals. I'm so glad I finally got to try bb.q Chicken and I highly recommend checking it out if you're craving Korean fried chicken!

Today I was driving through Novato and craving spicy fried chicken. I see most people get the sando from here but I like to just stick to the chicken and not let the bread get in the way! Ordered 2 half chicken light only, which means the wing + breast and then another half chicken that includes the wing + breast + leg + thigh = so altogether, both orders $54.62 It seems expensive considering a whole raw chicken is about $5 but they do some voodoo magic to their fried chicken at Hotboys -- the seasoning is delicious, batter is crispy, and meat inside is still juicy -- the breast meat goes well dipped in their special sauce and they bagged plenty for me! Service was excellent -- very friendly and accommodating! The music is hyped up so it can be a little loud. Bathrooms were very clean. I thoroughly enjoyed digging into my half chicken with my hands. The wait is about 20 minutes but it's not a problem to wait for good chicken! It came out so hot that I was willing to burn my fingers a little LOL

I ordered the chicken loco moco with an extra piece of chicken breast. Overall, the food was decent, but my over-easy egg came out well done. Service was okay, nothing special. It's not quite the same as the Oakland location for me, but I'd give it another try if I'm in the area.

4 stars for the consistently fresh and quickly prepared food, efficient service, and tidy ambiance…read more 4 stars for the fantastic flavors of the chicken chop, elote chop, and Thai salads. I also enjoyed the past seasonal offerings of chimichurri, sesame ramen, California Gold BBQ, and Italian salads. 3 stars today for the new seasonal honey crisp salad. I saw that it was part of the honey chili crisp seasonal menu and wrongly assumed that it would have some heat or bold seasoning, but even with the ginger aioli it was quite bland. Not even the honey soy flavors came through. I appreciated the consistency of the crisp chicken and fresh veggies in the salad, but I would not order this salad again. Update: I received a Starbird survey about my order and provided the feedback above, and customer service sent me a $10 off credit for my next order which was much appreciated. I will use it for the chicken chop, elote chop, or Thai salad that I know are tasty!

Not for me. I finally gave Starbird a try for lunch…read more Ordering is easy. I ordered chicken nuggets. Then I waited about 10 minutes for my order which isn't too bad during a busy time of day. Nuggets arrived as a to-go order in a box inside a huge bag. That was a waste of paper. I never said I wanted it to-go & the person taking the order never asked. If I ever were to go again I'd be sure to state dine-in. Anyway, the real issue is the nuggets. Dry, over-cooked & nearly tasteless. Too much breading although it was crunchy. I'm not a sauce person so I didn't order any. If that is what is supposed to turn these into chicken goodness then it's a fail. They should be tender, juicy & flavorful on their own. The restaurant is bright & clean. The noise level is unpleasantly loud. Nothing in the design of the interior is soaking up the horrible screeching sound of every metal chair that slides on the tile floor as people move around. Everyone working here is friendly & helpful.

Its a casual, Korean cafe located in a small strip mall and adjacent to Hernandez Park. The name is a bit of a misnomer. Yes they specialize in a variety of bone-in, Korean Fried Chicken with multiple flavor options. But turn the menu over and you'll see even more options for bento boxes, tofu soup, hot stone rice dishes (dolsot) and more. Service was fast and friendly, but don't overstay your welcome since the restaurant is small and very popular. Bulgolgi bento was awesome - it comes with ita own banchan, japchae, fried gyoza, and a food portion of beef that our 6yo som devoured by himself. Chicken Dolsot was also a solid dish - I like having veggies, carbs, and proteins all in one on a sizzling bowl with a fried egg. Wife and her bestie shared a half order of soy garlic KFC, which were large, crispy, and sticky. Its my favorite KFC flavor and wished we got a full order so I can have some more, LOL. Definitely keeping this place in mind for future visits. A good dinner takeout place if I ever need to work late from Richmond during evening commute.

We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back. For myself, probably not as the food was just too heavy for me.
