We had about a 10-15 minute wait, which honestly wasn't bad considering how busy they were. The menu had a lot of great-looking options. Two friends ordered the chicken fried steak, another ordered a veggie/Mediterranean-style omelet, and I had the carnitas huevos rancheros since I'm gluten-free. Portions were generous and the food was good, though not necessarily something I'd rave about. The biggest issue during our visit was the service. Drinks and ordering started off fine, but when the food came out only two of the four meals arrived. My friend and I ended up waiting quite a while longer and had to flag someone down to check on our meals. We were told the ticket must have gotten mixed up and our food would be out shortly. By the time our dishes arrived, our other friends were basically done eating. One side order was also forgotten. To their credit, they did remove that item and gave us 50% off the delayed dishes, which we appreciated. I completely understand that busy restaurants can get hectic, but better communication and table follow-up would have made a huge difference. Overall, cute spot with decent food and good portions -- just hoping the service experience improves.

It was early, around 4:00 p.m., and there were only two people dining inside. They agreed and eventually placed two tables together indoors. My thought was, why was this not offered from the beginning, especially given the heat and how empty the restaurant was? The ambiance was great, but unfortunately, the food was not. I ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was very skimpy, with only two thin slices of apple, two small orange slices, very little feta, and mostly lettuce. The chicken portion was extremely small and was served separately on a plate rather than sliced and placed on the salad as ordered. The other dishes were also small and underwhelming. The burger and fries were nothing special, and the spaghetti was plain and lacked flavor. If you are looking for great ambiance, this may be a nice place to visit. But if you are looking for great food, you may want to consider other options. For a great burger, I would recommend Buckhorn instead. It costs less and is much better.

Our kids had an amazing time and even got a special tour from the staff. Food was pretty good, the menu for brunch is rotational and overall we enjoyed the meal but it was not the high point of the visit. Several of us got the fried chicken and biscuit and it was good with honey but was hoping the fried chicken would have been more crispy. Fries were yummy and salad option was delightful. We sat near misters, which we would probably ask not to for our next visit - little too strong for our eating setup. Overall a beautiful spot and wonderful way to spend a weekend with the family. Nice meal and flowers.

Booked a reservation for 10, and we were promptly seated and greeted by our server Jake. He was very attentive, checking back to ensure a great experience. I had the butternut squash soup for a starter and the eggs benedict as the main course. Very delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. After brunch we walked the entire grounds and the main floor of the Inn. The Interior of the Inn on the main floor is very clean and elegant with beautiful furnishings and art. The grounds are quiet and peaceful with nook and open areas for relaxing with a glass of champagne or cup of coffee. The Flower Barn must be seen. There was a wreath making class going and countless beautiful dried flowers hanging from the ceiling of every variety. There is a little store on the property with more dried flowers, olive oils, jams and balsamic vinegar from the valley. Soothing jazz music played in the various areas of the property. I can imagine what the propery must look like at night, or for a wedding or party. I am looking forward to returning!

The place would definitely be amazing as a wedding venue. Brunch was good. The service was attentive--they were right there with coffee' mimosas, and water. They cleared your plate and silverware before you went back to the buffet for the next course. The food was good, if not spectacular. It reminded me of the fancy brunch buffets my very formal grandparents would take me to as a child. I appreciated the variety of food available, and the prime rib carving station was a nice touch. The desserts were fun--small enough to be able to sample a variety. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Wish I could give it 4.5 stars.

Adj: Beautiful and Memorable…read more We attended a wedding here and it was a beautiful event. The grounds are so nicely landscaped and maintained and there really is a "mansion" feel to this place bc it is a mansion! It's amazing that that such a historical and fancy place is only 25 miles south of Sacramento in Walnut Grove in the Delta. Apparently, the Grand Island Mansion is the biggest private estate in NorCal. It was built in 1920 by Louis Myers, an orchard farmer, along with his wife Henrietta. They broke ground on 865-acre in 1917, so it took about 3 years to build. The Mansion has 58 rooms, all fancy and opulent, and was designed as a classic Italian Renaissance villa by renowned San Francisco architect J.W. Dolliver and is 4-story tall with 24,000-square-foot of space! In the roaring 20s, high society gathered here for gatherings and high-end wining & dining, and guests were all wealthy and famous local and even national figures to include Greta Garbo, Erle Stanley Gardner, and former President Franklin D. Roosevelt and President Ronald Reagan! During the Great Depression in the 1930s, the Myers family's fortunes also diminished a lot, so they had to sell off their orchards and sadly, the mansion as well. Since the Mansion changed hands several times, it was not kept up in the 1930s-40s. Thankfully, a local restauranteur, Frank Perese bought it in 1950 and put in a commercial kitchen to try to revive the Mansion to make it a destination for fine dining. Then from the 1970s, the Mansion became a special events venue, and weddings were hosted here beginning around 1980. In recent years, it has evolved into a luxurious location for weddings and events with a 14-seat private theater added, Italian gardens nicely maintained, and original artwork and lavish hotel rooms, all of which are really well kept to preserve this historical property and to keep it as a premier wedding and special occasions celebration destination. We really enjoyed attending our friends' wedding here and taking in all the sights and sounds of this grand mansion and may have to come back for brunch or tea in the future.
