I wasn't sure what to expect given the reviews on here. I managed a wing place for 9 years, so I…read morelove wings and know a little about them. Pros: Good size wings, hard to find wings that aren't tiny. Ordered 8 flats with Bleu cheese and celery sticks, drink, l with Louisiana dry rub. Great flavor, just not as hot as I expected. Service was friendly and polite, order at the counter duty down and they bring them out. Nice amount of celery and decent blue cheese. Cons: one roll of paper towels by the pop machine for the whole place. Odd they don't have more or serve with napkins. No wet naps for fingers that I saw or was given. Cost controls I suppose, but both of these are not great customer service. I was charged $1.60 for something, not sure what. Hopefully it was for the extra "meal" size. Price. Pretty high up there - my whole bill was almost $16.00 for 8 wings. Probably due to all the rising costs. Very hard to get to from the freeway, as you can't turn in from the road you're on, you have to turn at the corner, go into r gas station and through to the restaurant. Overall, I will definitely go back, I like BWR but the volume is crazy.

The cashier finished at the register then an older guys comes in and blows by my and she waits on him. Right after another pick up comes in and she waits on him. So im in there for 10 minutes and get pushed aside 2x. I speak up and am ignored. Finally she comes to me and tell her the pick up name. I get my order and drive home. When home, I open the sealed bag is not my order. Im not driving back to the shit show. This has to be the worst service. Ive had other bad experiences with this location. Im done. I would rate this ZERO.

In my early 20's The Bar was one of the go to destinations for many of my friends. I spent many…read moreafternoons watching the Packers or Nascar. I also enjoyed many bands out in the indoor volleyball area. I have many fond memories of times spent with friends & co-workers here. Having moved out of the Fox Valley I no longer was able to visit with any frequency. I found myself in the area at lunchtime Monday and thought I'd visit one of my old stomping spots. Just walking in the door brought back memories of days gone by. They have a $9 lunch special on Mondays with all the salad & 3-4 different soups that you can eat. This looked like a pretty good deal, but it's The Bar after all, so I went with a burger and fries. We were greeted quickly upon entry and our drink/food order was on track for an in/out lunch visit. The waitress never asked how we wanted our burgers and without our specifying our burgers came out a little overcooked. The burger had good flavor and would have been spot on at a medium rather than well done. They have a batter on their fries that is awesome. Some of the most enjoyable restaurant fries I've had. Our service was a little spotty, in that the waitress never came back to see how our meals were or to refill the obviously empty soda glass. Our server became so M.I.A. that while sitting with empty baskets and wallets in hand we had to ask another waitress to find ours for the bill. All in all, still pretty good bar food and a nice little visit down memory lane.

Seems a bit overboard to me. I can see getting charged for extra bleau but for just 1 since when are wings not served witha dipping sauce? Bit expense in my opnion. Bonnie

The bar area is spacious to wait either at the bar or in some small lower tables. We came for the salad bar and were a bit underwhelmed. It says Fridays have a limited salad bar and if you asked me what that looked like tonight's is what I'd say. Lettuce, a few standard veggie toppings, your usual dressings, croutons. Missing things like pickles, carrots, corn or peas, three bean salad, cottage cheese. But it was all fresh and crisp and had the most important things for a supper club: cheese and liver spreads with crackers and hot bacon dressing. They also have two soups nightly, lasagna (flavorful and not sweet like some places) and ham and potato (perfectly thickened but not like glue and not too salty). I love that they have perch every night. I was a bit skeptical on all the combos being with tenderloin because I don't like that cut but it was tender yet not mush, perfectly charred and crusty outside but a spot-on medium rare almost to the rare side. Seasoned well and made me a believer in tenderloin. The perch was some of the best I've ever had. Large. Moist fillets and cooked to perfection so it was crispy cracker crumb outside but moist and flaky inside. The broasted chicken was crispy and juicy but a bit salty for my taste. Potato puffs were a fun take on potato sides and well seasoned. Ambiance is what you'd expect, dark wood and "homey" ambiance. Waitresses are fairly attentive and get the job done. It's also absurdly affordable, we paid more for a burger lunch earlier that day and here we even had leftovers.
