My friends and I went thanksgiving week while I was visiting family. We did drinks and dinner. Our server identified as being new and did a great job. Very nice and attentive. Service was very quick. They have a large variety of food and drinks on the menu. Food wise, they let you mix and match the types of tacos you get, which is great because of a lot of delicious sounding flavors. The margarita flight was delicious and helped my decide on my second drink. Food was good. I tried 3 different tacos and the birria was my favorite. I do recommend trying this place out if you're in the mood for Mexican food. Excellent service and staff as well. read more

I tried coming in here with a positive attitude despite them being owned by Sangrias (I do not like Sangrias, at all). But we came here with friends because they loved this place, it's going to be a while for me to trust them again for a food recommendation. Atmosphere: It is massive in here considering the location. Not a lot of parking since it is a shared lot. The floor was really dirty in here and the group I was with said the bathrooms were dirty as well. The decor is really pretty and it has a fun vibe. Service: Quick to seat us, get drinks and take orders. The reason this gets 2 stars. Drinks: The margaritas were super weak and not a lot of flavor other than overly sweet. Food: The salsa and chips are definitely something I won't be putting in my mouth again, it was like watery chunky ketchup? The tacos I was served were cold, I ordered the carniatas en salsa verde and the chipotle shrimp...the tortilla fell apart on both of them. And they were just..bland. No acidity, no spice. We also ordered the street corn fritters and they were SO dense, and mushy and not even close to the $10 they charged for them. Four of us went to the restaurant on a Saturday around the lunch hour. We were immediately impressed how spacious the bar and dining areas were. It was decorated in a fun style. The restaurant offers seating in booths or at tables. We started off with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and crisp. The salsa was fantastic. When we got low on chips, our waitress was quick to bring us more. The restaurant has a nice drink menu. We ordered a couple of styles of margaritas and another tequila based drink. Everyone enjoyed their pick. For our meals, everyone ordered two tacos. You get your choice of handmade corn tortillas or ready made flour tortillas. We had some of both. Our orders came out promptly and were appropriately hot. I enjoyed my carnitas verde taco a lot. My chicken and mushroom taco was good but the chicken was a little dry. My dining partners like their choices, aside from the shrimp taco; which had very small shrimp versus two nice-sized shrimp. Overall, our group enjoyed the food and experience. The ambience at this restaurant is really good, everything is decorated really fun! The restaurant/bar is actually a lot bigger than what it appears from the outside. The staff treated us well and were very attentive. I had the shrimp boats and they were very good. My only comment would be that this is more of an appetizer than a meal. Mixed feelings about this place. The tacos and drinks are good. I have tried a number of different individual tacos on their menu and although some weren't for me, they were good. It always looks busy, but I've never had to wait long for a table - it is spacious inside. Tacos are priced at about $4-6 each and are served on a sheet pan. When I have ordered multiple tacos that come with sauces, it has not been clear which sauce cup goes with which taco. A few of my companions ordered burrito bowls and, surprisingly, these were served on plates and segmented like a pie chart rather than layered. Service: Waitstaff tends to disappear quickly, so act fast if you have questions or concerns about your order. My most recent visit was disappointing. It was a Wednesday evening and we were seated quickly. However, I needed a water refill and our waiter came to the table 3 times before remembering to bring a water pitcher. When he brought our checks, my "bowl" companions requested boxes for leftovers. He returned quickly with the boxes but also wanted us to pay him immediately if we were paying by card. He had a card reader with him and hovered over our table. One of my companions told him that he was rushing us and he continued to stand there. There were many open tables and did not appear to be anyone waiting. We had also not been there very long, to the point that when I returned home my S.O. commented that I was home pretty early. Ambience: the decor is VERY Frida Kahlo. It has a fun atmosphere. I believe there is a photo booth. Parking: the lot is shared with Dollar Tree. There is also a parking lot across the street next to Sangria's (a sister restaurant). Street parking is also available on W Lawrence St and S Locust St. read more

It doesn't seem like it from the outside but this place has a great amount of seating and airspace and provides such a great experience with tons of art pieces and fun furniture. Their food was excellent. The margarita flight was delightful and the guacamole made fresh at the table to die for! Wow!! I was a bit worried about going in because the outside looks like a strip mall. Thank goodness, we went in. Everyone was super nice. The bar is fabulous and for those who need to work and eat, they have outlets at the bar and places to hang your purse!! I wanted to learn a little bit about tequila. They were wonderful at suggesting different kinds of tequilas to try. Each employee had a different favorite so it was fun to test the different flavors that each person enjoyed. The tequilas were numerous and diverse. Guacamole is always my first test of whether or not a restaurant is delicious and they hit the mark. Their table salsa was good and their chips were served warm. We tried a regular beef taco, seafood taco, Carnitas taco, and Birria taco. Every single one was delicious. I learned that the Birria is like a French dip from south of the border. Their green sauce is like the Peruvian chicken green sauce. The red sauce is also yummy and offers quite a bit of spice. Best tacos I've had since moving from Colorado. Highly recommend. The birria and ribeye fundido were phenomenal.

The food was good. But the service was extremely slooowww. 3 of us got there at about 11:30. It wasn't too busy. There were quite a few open tables. It took 20 minutes before we even got a waiter. We ordered drinks 1 soda, 1 mixed drink and water. 20 minutes later we got to order our food. The table that came after us got their food first. By the time we were done it was 2:30. We hadn't planned on spending the afternoon there. So long story short, if you've got about 3-4 hours to kill, this is the place for you. read more

Great service, and the drinks were wonderful. Standard chips and salsa were complimentary. We ordered the chipotle pineapple margarita, corn fritters, and carnitas taco Mexican style. Margarita was AWESOME!!! I could have kept drinking it all night. Carnitas were recommended by waitstaff and it was so juicy and flavorful. Corn fritters though, we're super disappointing. Luke warm and mushy. Corn fritters anywhere are hit or miss and all made different - but these were sadly a miss for me. I'll probably be back though to try other stuff! read more

i LOVE tipsy taco!!! ive been a few different times - two for dinner and one for lunch, so i'll go through the differences between the experiences. dinner: i went with my boyfriend at 7 pm the first time and it was pretty busy. we only had to wait for about ten minutes though. we were seated in a booth and our waitress was very kind and attentive. the chip bowl was ALWAYS full and the second there were less than five chips we received a refill without asking. they have pepsi products (i got a sprite) and all kinds of alcohol (i didn't get any but when my mom tried the mojito she loved it!). i and my boyfriend both got a tacone. i got the italian one and it was fantastic! i've never ordered anything else from there because i love it so much. he also got a tacone but it was the american one and he really liked it too. wasnt my style but he said he would order it again. check came quickly and service was great! lunch: today i went at about 1115 (they open at 11) and we were seated right away. was not busy at all and still wasnt full when i left at 1230. my whole family was there with me and they all enjoyed their food a lot! my little sister got the kids quesadilla with fries and there were far too many fries for her. we all shared the fries and we still couldn't finish them all. something to keep in mind for little ones! the fries were fantastic. i didn't try her quesadilla but she liked it. my mom got the double decker birria taco and loved it! we all tried it and it was very good. my dad got the ribeye taco and he loved that a lot as well. the sauce is quite spicy on it according to him, but he can be more sensitive to spice. again, my mom liked her mojito and it wasn't too strong. the ambiance at this place is incredible. i love the look and feel of it and the music is great! they have a great attention to detail and i love the murals around the walls and the little photo op area! i do like this place more than sangrias, so even if you didnt enjoy sangrias you should give tipsy taco a try! my tacone was 16 dollars which is the most expensive, and all the tacos are 3.75-5 dollars approximately. totally worth the price and will for sure be back :) thanks again tipsy taco! read more

10/10 for atmosphere! The vision they had for this place is beautiful. I love the colors, Frida, and the layout. They have an awesome Tequila bar with fast service! The chips were warmed and crisp, and the salsa was perfect! But yes there is a but. I'm sorry but the tacos were lacking authenticity. I tried the chicharrones taco, and the chipotle shrimp taco. My husband tried the Scallop taco and the modelo carnitas taco. He enjoyed the flavor of the carnitas but said it wasn't crispy enough. I think I was most disappointed was with the Charro beans. It's one of my favorite dishes, and it had no flavor. Everyone else seems to love it here,, so I guess my review won't count much. Visited Tipsy Taco this last Wednesday 4/12/23 with a big group for the first time. We've been to Sangria's in the past and enjoyed it so we were happy to give it a try. First: food- had the blackened Salmon and Puerco Verde tacos and wife had the Dos Equis Fish. It's not that the tacos were tiny, no , they were adequate ...it's just they said nothing! One tiny piece of fish, (really tiny), on each, no blackened taste, not well seasoned, to put it mildly, and no seasoning on the tables!! Puerco verde was the best of all three for sure. Small portion of a la carte black beans (best tasting part of the meal), but on leaving, we were left with a ...."what did I just eat?" feeling. Drinks: ok, small but a nice Mojito. Atmosphere: Open, loud and way too many Frida-like images....whoa! Would we go back....no, not for the food, it was pretty much no Bueno. read more

The atmosphere was great here! We LOVED how the restaurant was set up. Our server was so kind, aware, and yet speedy without rushing. We received multiple refills on chips and salsa which was nice especially for our 3-year old. The tacos were well portioned. I ordered 3 and was full at the end. My drink was a fun mix of citrus, spice, and a touch of smoke from the tequila - a nice as advertised special. We had a full family meal for $44 before tip and for us the price was right on. This was our first visit. We have no desire to go back. The place is cute and beautifully decorated, the food was OK, but our service was not good. Maybe if we had a different waitress it would have been different. When she first came to our table she dropped waters off and walked away and didn't come back for 1Oish minutes. In the meantime, I saw her greet and ask another table what they wanted to drink. When she finally came back, she said she was going to take our drink order and our food order at the same time, not even asking if we were ready. When we said OK she looked at my husband first and said "you, drink." So my husband gave her his drink order and then she looked at me and said "you, drink" so l gave her my drink order. Then she looked back at my husband and said "you, food." And then after he gives his order, she looks at me and says "you, food." It was a weird interaction. After we ate our food and she took our plates, she asked if we needed a box, we said yes. I was interacting with my baby, and my husband was watching us and as I'm looking down at my son, she comes back and puts the box a few inches away from my face without saying anything, then proceeded to interact with mv husband. All we could do is laugh. It was bizarre. Our tacos were fine, not worth risking such an odd interaction again for, though. Their other restaurant, Sangrias is always delicious and the service is fantastic. Hopefully this waitress stays at this location so we can keep going to Sangrias without having to interact with her again. read more

Crazy I've been here multiple times and never had a problem. Today was awful they definitely lost a great customer. When I arrived the restaurant was not as packed as it normally be no wait for a booth which I liked. First thing first my waitress was nice in the beginning everything was great until they brought out my food. I ordered a birria taco like always then wanted to try the refried black beans with a side of baked chicken enchilada dip. When the food came out my beans were cold, the taco wasn't even hot to the point that the cheese that keep the two shells together wasn't even melted then to top it all off the dip was watery and slopped together. When I told the waitress instead of her just taking it back to remake she tried to explain that that is how the taco is made (mind you I come there all the time) & get the same taco. After a back and forth she takes the taco back I told her forget the sides cause I couldn't for the life of me understand how my food was cold when the restaurant wasn't even halfway full. She brings out a 2nd birria taco that is in the pic which barely had meat in it and was filled with fat. I had had it she can tell I asked for the manager crazy he brings it out made right without me even asking. He wanted to make things right asked if I wanted anything else but honestly I only ate it because I was hungry first food of the day after working a 6am-2pm shift. I had been craving that taco for a few days I was very disappointed I won't be back. He even said they had the same cook as always but maybe he was having a bad day but the fact the waitress tried to justify it and make me feel delusional as if I don't get the same thing just rubbed me the wrong way.
