I've been bugging my husband to take me here for a couple of weeks and last night we finally went. First the good. The food was really tasty. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. The presentation was also nice. My husband had some kind of pork taco that was also very good. I know this is an authentic Mexican place but the salsa was very very watery. I like a thicker consistency personally. The margarita I got was really good as well. As far as the place itself, the seating is definitely from the last restaurant that was there, it's very worn. The music was really loud, too loud, and the lighting was extremely bright for dinner time. Not nearly the aesthetic of some of the Mexican places in Appleton. The place was dead. Two people at the bar and another table of people eating, not what you'd expect at dinner time. This is surprising as the food was really good. Not sure we will be back any time soon due to the atmosphere not being very relaxing. Maybe they will upgrade the place over time. And lastly we've never been to a restaurant with 'combo" meals where you can't pick more than one option for your tacos. We could only get on choice for all 3. :( read more

I've been to Mexico many times in many parts of Mexico including Tijuana. La Baja is authentic. They have a Golden margarita made from scratch with fresh squeezed orange and lime; it's absolutely amazing It's family owned and operated. Great friendly service. The ambience reminds me of being in Mexico. BTW, I never stay at an all inclusive place in Mexico so I always eat in local restaurants. This is the best place without the 1000 mile flight for Mexican food. read more

Their golden margarita is the best margarita north of Mexico its made with 100% fresh squeezed juice; no mixes or high fructose corn syrup. The Aguachili shrimp is one of my favorites. Thought we'd try this place as it has good reviews. The taste of the food was good. The service and friendly atmosphere was excellent. The chips and salsa were delivered immediately. That's my only positive things to say. My wife and I each had a margarita, I ordered shrimp tacos, she had chicken quesadillas. It took 30 minutes to get our food. The salsa dish had maybe a quarter cup in it, we ran out and waited a while to get a refill. The restaurant was 50% full. The men's bathroom had graffiti carved in the door. The bill was $55 after a 15% tip. I thought that was high for what we got. I will never return, and would not recommend this place to anyone. We will stick to Cozumel for our Mexican food. read more

I ordered a chicken taco and a shrimp taco (but received a fish taco). Both were delicious and the salsa was excellent; both the salsa that came with the chips and the green salsa that came with my plate. We ended up buying some of the green salsa to take home with us. read more
