My wife and I swung by the Harrisonburg Krispy Kreme while on a road trip, and we're glad we did. The place is very clean, bright, and inviting. The two staff members working (a young guy and a young lady) were incredibly friendly, upbeat, and made the whole visit feel easy and enjoyable. Our dozen donuts came out fresh and tasted amazing. The display, counters, and floors were all well taken care of -- you can tell the team takes pride in keeping the store tidy. Krispy Kreme is a nice place for a quick sweet bite and chug of milk. They have indoor/outdoor seating and a drive thru as well. I recommend getting your donuts from here and not the grocery store, fresher and last longer. The service is friendly and quick. It is in a convenient location so we always go to get gas maybe a sub from Jimmy John's etc so ofcourse that justifies my stop to Krispy Kreme (when that's really the only reason I get off that exit). The staff is friendly enough and they have a variety of donut options. The donuts here are very soft and yummy! No comparison to Dunkin donuts- so much better! Look for the hot sign when you drive by and you can get the hot and fresh off the conveyor belt ! Even if not they are made fresh daily and probably within the hour. Usually a have a pretty good experience when picking up donuts here (drive thru and inside). However, the past 3 times that I have gone their hot machine is "broken" so they can't make hot drinks.... Including lattes and hot chocolate, which is pretty disappointing. Besides that, their donuts are almost always fantastic. Earlier this week, I picked up a dozen to bring home (2+ hours away) for my family. Krispy Kreme Store's have a red light outside that when turned on means they have fresh warm donuts available. I decided I was going to stop by while the light was on and get true Krispy Kreme experience! On the way back from dinner, the light was on and I knew it was my chance. I went to the drive thru and ordered just one fresh glazed donut. The kind lady working the drive thru gave me the donut for FREE! I was so excited and told her it was my first time trying them! The donut tasted amazing! Way better than in the boxes, and the service was just as awesome! They also have other flavors of donuts and coffee available! Some seasonal items were available too! I placed a pre-order on 6/6/2024 for pickup at the 35 Burgess Road, Harrisonburg, VA location. The website stated that pre-orders were available to begin on 6/6 for pickup on 6/7 for the BOGO2 deal. I went to the location to pickup my 3 orders since the website only allowed orders placed online the option of 1 BOGO2 compared to Instore option of max limit of 2 -BOGO2 deals. I have approximately 110 employees I was purchasing donuts for. I got to the location to pickup my orders and they weren't ready. The employees didn't know which bags were mine as they weren't labeled. Then I was told I didn't get the discount because the deal didn't start until today (however my receipt clearly showed I'd received it). I was also told I couldn't get the Dolly dozen with the deal. I was even told by an employee my orders (which they say were incorrectly packaged by the night crew) should have been cancelled since I had more than 1 order. The employee said that it didn't matter what Corporate said since they don't allow more than 1 transaction online per customer. I asked if they had it written somewhere and she said no - corporate was just wrong. I spent almost 30 minutes waiting, going through box after box sorting out my order. The employee seemed annoyed with having to throw out 9 boxes of glazed donuts that were in the bag they said were for me but were missing the 2 boxes of classic assorted and 2 dolly's. The manager, Emily, I'm told doesn't have a business card available and is running route so she's not available for me to speak to. The employee doesn't know who the district manager is since they change so often. Overall this was the most inconvenient experience that should've been convenient due to the pre-order. I'm not a fan (I know it sounds crazy) but my WV family loves them so I grab a few dozen of original glazed for them. I stopped here during the Christmas break via the drive thru. Out of every time I have been there, I have never had a problem. It is disappointing to hear their espresso machine has been broken for months and never seems to get fixed. Big disappointment! While we love KK donuts this experience was awful! We arrived two hours before closing. We were never greeted by anyone and the clerk walked away as we were about to order. We ordered decaf coffee, but was told they didn't have anymore tonight. ( They had just poured coffee down the sink although it is nearly 2 hours before the stated closing time on the door. Really delicious original glazed donut but best eaten same day it's bought!! If not they usually get stale and hard quickly just sitting on the kitchen counter. I think there should be a set price on half dozens like dozens. First let me say I live Krispy Kreme donuts. My favorite of all donuts. Never had a bad one even when I buy the boxed ones in the grocery store UNTIL today. Traveling through Virginia on our way home to Georgia and was so excited to see find Krispy Kreme store. My husband went in and bought a dozen donuts. It supposed to be 4 Angel cream donuts, 4 cream filled donuts, and 4 glazed donuts. Not only was the order wrong but these were stale donuts. 8:00 a.m and stale donuts? Too late to take them back as we are on the road. Sure glad that I know this was not a true representation of Krispy Kreme. You can see by the picture how stale looking the glazed donut are. I've grown up in KK as my father worked for the founder, Vernon Rudolph, back in the 1960s & 70s. Hot Glazed are like crack in that you cannot get enough. While this is a new store, the product is great as expected but the service could be a little better (faster). read more

Cold donuts, terrible staff and customer service. Would rate zero stars if possible. This is a bit of a long review, but please bear with me. We stopped in at this location, wanting to get some donuts. They took our order, then told us the donuts would be ready in 15 minutes. Half an hour goes by, and no donuts. My mom gets up to ask where the donuts were. She was rudely ignored while other customers were being served. Mom then asked for a refund, (it was only $20) and the staff member played dumb and said that she didn't know how to give refunds from the cash register (while said staff member was taking orders and giving change to other customers just moments before.) It gets even better: the staff member, and the people she was serving were of the same race, and my mom, who was being ignored, was of a different race. After wasting another 20 minutes arguing with the manager, and even phone calls to corporate, they finally decided to give us "free donuts", as compensation. (They were cold, and it wasn't even what we ordered) SUMMARY: Racist and incompetent staff. Would give zero stars if possible. This whole experience was strange, because my family has been to several other Krispy Kreme locations, all of which were well run and great places to go.
