Breakfast bagel to start the day.

"In baseball, my theory is to strive for consistency, not worry about the numbers. If you dwell on statistics you get short sighted, if you aim for consistency, the numbers will be there at the end."-Tom Seaver Do I favor sports? No. And if I were to voluntary sit down and watch (on television or in-person), baseball would not be a first choice. That's just me. So why the sports quote? Because it is spot on as a definition of excellence. Too often businesses (and we, as individuals) get caught up in the next achievement or accoculade or mishap or failure. And in doing so, potential is limited to the immediate future. There is no ability for consistency with such a mindset. But the businesses who impress you over the years and keep you coming back, even when every experience may not be perfect, are those who strive for excellence day after day after day. Of such is Broad Porch Coffee.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's an adorable shop however it's usually crowded so finding a table can be difficult.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I like the teas. I got an earl grey matcha before and it was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the ambiance in general and would definitely recommend to relax or work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My husband had a London fog tea and breakfast steak burrito while I had a lavender latte with cranberry orange scone

I'm a big fan of lavender lattes and cranberry orange scones, theirs are both absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Baristas are super friendly even when super busy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place to read and get some work done too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a modern coffee shop in downtown Harrisonburg. Bright, airy with modern touches in a backdrop historic building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With pastries and other minimal Food items this place is good for early morning or mid day bite as well having many coffees and teas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Indoor and outdoor seating are a plus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Less than a mile from the JMU campus I am sure they get a lot of collegiate food traffic. I stopped by 2 days for their matcha which was quite tasty. It can be made sweet or unsweetened which is a plus. Customer service is also welcoming.

I have eaten at Broad Porch Coffee Company twice now. The first time I had the chai latte with a Biscuit Sammy and both were very delicious! The second time was at their Porchlight Plates, private dinner service which was managed by Brandon Tapley, whom I must say did an impeccable job! The food creations, by Maria Cooper, during this event was incredibly scrumptious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They provided a very memorable dining experience with beautiful ambience and decor![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service by Abby was impeccable and the live music by Tjax_21 was fantastic![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I really can't say enough good things about Broad Porch or recommend it enough! You simply have to try this place out.

Amazing food and coffee. This place is worth visiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's so cute inside and perfect for doing work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food and drinks taste high quality. Everything is so fresh.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went here for brunch on a Monday morning and it was pretty crowded![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Took me a while to find parking but it was a short walk. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is nice and open, also pretty big.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is very small and limited with a majority of the options having pork products. They unfortunately do not have any substitutions like Turkey bacon or Turkey sausage instead of pork. I think the cafe should take this into consideration especially with the large Muslim population in Harrisonburg. I got the biscuit sammy with no bacon & it was pretty good. I also got a side of tots which were so crunchy and delicious. For my drink, I got an iced coffee with brown sugar & cinnamon. It was good. My friends were satisfied with their meals & drinks as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice place to meet up with friends or to get some work done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I just noted a mistake in my review. It should read "The carrot cake was delicious but, I'm sorry to say, the espresso was awful".

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Minimalist vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Order in the front. Pick up food from the window counter and return pager. Delicious and tasty food items. Scroll through the main photos, consistent plating. Different counter for the drinks. Courteous servers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mostly self service but place is tidy and organize.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!

Tots were delicious. They give you a lot of food, split between myself and my girlfriend. I would definitely get it again.

Simply put, the bodega breakfast sandwich might be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten. I took it to eat on the road and was startled about how delicious it was. The freshly baked (you can tell) brioche bun with everything bagel seasoning on top added a great salty taste to go along with the tasty stuff inside. I think it was because they enjoyed working there. Or, at least it give them a chance to eat some really tasty food. I had their Cubano Tartine. That's kind of like an omelet with the ingredients of a Cubano sandwich, except for the roll, mixed in. (And yes, I get that the cooking process is a bit different.) ' Anyway, this Cubano Tartine shows up on a plate in front of me. I dig in and keep digging. The ingredients, ham, cheese, pickles, etc, were plentiful and delicious. They were sitting on an ample slice of their sourdough bread. That was the first issue. It was IMPOSSIBLE to cut. I guess I could have asked for a steak knife or maybe a power tool. But, there was so much other stuff that I was able to have a very filling meal without it. The other issue was that the lightly dressed side salad was doused in dressing. Again, didn't complain because, for me, it wasn't a problem during this visit. Issues aside, if I come back to Hagerstown, I'll look for an excuse to come back.

I ordered the El Diablo Latte, and it was phenomenal. The cayenne and ancho brought a gentle warmth, the cinnamon and vanilla rounded it out, and the chocolate and espresso tied it all together beautifully. Spiced, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I also had a V60 pour-over of their seasonal Costa Rican single origin, and it was incredibly clean and expressive. I genuinely tasted the pomegranate and hibiscus notes, with a subtle cocoa finish. Bright without being sharp -- just a really well-executed cup. The triple ginger scone was the perfect pairing with the latte -- tender inside, lightly crisp outside, and warmly spiced without overpowering. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, the space was welcoming, and the quality across the board was top-tier. My only suggestion? Stickers. I'd absolutely put one on my laptop. Highly recommend.

I asked for the bagel to be sliced, which they did and then I was not given a knife so I had to ask again for a knife to spread the cream cheese. The barista gave my drink away so I asked if my drink would be ready soon and she told me that someone must have taken it, she then promptly made the latte. The bagel was cold and dry, even with the cream cheese. The latte however was moderately enjoyable. Overall, I will not be returning.

To paraphrase the Beatles, there's nothing I can say that can't be said, but man do I love, love, love this place. Excellent whole bean offerings, roasted to perfection by expert roasters. Delicious hot and iced coffee and espresso drinks that simply can't be replicated anywhere nearby--including, sadly, in my home town of Staunton (hey, Trager Brothers! There's a huge opportunity for expansion in the Queen City!). And top all that off with sublime, informed, and incredibly friendly front of house staff. And of course more shops equate to more locations while walking around to discover (then continuously support) all things caffeinated. And such it was when I first visited the 'Burg over a year ago. I wondered streets and alleyways in search of a pour over, Americano, and of course a bag (or three) of beans to take home. And in doing so I stumbled upon Chestnut. At that time they were next door to Magpie (which was where I was headed) so I popped in. Chemex in use, beans being stirred in the back (part of the roasting process), and an aroma that feels like a warm blanket to my soul. Since that first visit they have moved over to Liberty Mercantile (across the street and in the basement) and expanded their space. But their quality remains top notch.
