Searching Yelp for breakfast is one of my favorite activities while I'm out of town. I saw this place and decided it looked pretty good. The place was pretty empty at 7:30am on a Saturday morning, but I'm not complaining at all. Service was really good. I got the avocado bagel with everything seasoning on top and a vanilla latte. Both were made well. I was expecting an avocado spread, but was nicely surprised when I saw that it was actual slices of avocado. It was delicious and kept me full for a good amount of time! Tucked away in an industrial building, Drifters Cafe is a hidden gem with plenty of seating, making it a great spot for local students looking for a quiet place to study or meet for group projects. The ambiance is calm and welcoming, also making it a nice place to catch up with a friend over coffee. We tried the Dirty Chai Latte with a shot of espresso and the Harvest Green Smoothie--both were delicious and well-balanced in flavor. They also offer a solid selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, which we'll have to try next time. The only reason for the four stars instead of five is that it can be a little tricky to find at first, given its industrial location, but once inside, it's a cozy and inviting space. First time coming here in town visiting family. I love looking for little small places to eat and drink coffee. I had the salad my husband had a sandwich. Coffee and tea were really good. It had to be great my husband kept saying it was. And he doesn't give compliments very often. Quiet little place would definitely come back next time . read more

The family & I are in Massanutten for a fun weekend away, but just couldn't handle the resort prices anymore. We decided on Drifters Cafe for breakfast because I saw coffee flights (thanks Yelpers!). They are real & basically 4 small coffees for $13. INCREDIBLE! My husband who doesn't like coffee, but enjoys a good chocolate mocha asked me to put the white mocha on the flight then we had caramel macchiato, dirty chai latte, and horchata latte. Hubs drank the white mocha giving me just a sip to try (). It was delicious! So was the carmel and horchata. The dirty chai latte fell short for me. It was missing that christmas in a cup feel. Maybe not enough cinnamon? Not sure, but it was missing. We also had the loaded bagel sandwich, wraps, and a bagel croissant. All were scarfed up by my hungry brood. Ambience is industrial coffee house. It's bright, well lit, and I love that the tables aren't super close together. It's a bit tricky to find. It's behind the building that has a kitchen place attached. The team brings your coffee and food to your table. Very nice! read more

My first time dining at Drifters cafe was made a horrid experience due to the lack of knowledge and concern from the manager; and also risk of internal bleeding/death. My friend was eating her bowl she had ordered and found a RAZOR BLADE in her food. When we brought this issue and the blade in hand to the manager, he showed lack of concern: explaining that just a week ago another customer had found a SCREW in his/her wrap. He did not hesitate to refund her, however he showed a bizarre lack of concern and seemed incredibly comfortable telling us about the screw that other customer found. Does this happen often? As someone in a managerial position in the food service industry, there should have been way more hospitality than a lousy refund and horror story of another bad incident happening at this place. If someone would have ingested this garbage, serious internal damage would have occurred, let alone the fact of how dirty razor blades are. This incident alone shows that this establishment for 1. Does not check their produce before serving them to the public, 2. Does not even WASH their vegetables either, and 3. Has an inexperienced and unprofessional manager. What if a child had mistakenly and unknowingly swallowed this blade instead of an adult who had some discernment that this was indeed a razor blade? This is terrible and no one should risk eating at this establishment. If you want to swallow and ingest a sharp razor blade, be Drifter's cafe's guest! read more

I LOVE this place! Stopped in to grab a coffee. Ended up getting a wrap and going 3 days in a row. I live out of state and come to Harrisonburg to visit family. Tried the honey lavender oat milk iced latte the first day (a menu item) and in addition to my addiction got my sister hooked as well. We tried Drifters for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Cozy spot and great service. We had a few different smoothies and they were all delicious. The bagel breakfast sandwiches were great and filling. My only complaint was with the breakfast burritos. The sauce was flavorful but it needed more eggs. It was pretty much filled with lettuce and some egg. Overall, good spot and would return. read more
