I've been coming here since it opened 2021, I know or is it just me but the donuts are smaller ?? Went there today 7-9-22 ordered 1/2 dozen. Opened the box and I could visibly see there was more box showing then before. I always order 6 donuts 3 raspberry glaze, 2 chocolate glaze, 1 chocolate frosted. It seem like we pay more & get less. Weekend staff is very disappointing! We buy a dozen then upgrade to a few more expensive, like apple fritters. The last three boxes all purchased Saturday or Sunday morning before 7:30am have had errors. Then when we go to correct it, the staff are rude or in a rush. Doughnuts are good but not worth it over the staff and their errors every time. I've gone a few times during the week and no errors so it is definitely the weekend staff before 7:30am. read more

First off I know this is COVID time and I would like to state this has nothing to do with difficult circumstances... and before you ask yourself, if I'm a fat ass B**** the answer is YES. If you've never visited a Krispie Kreme donut shop, one of the delights of KK, is the light flashing "hot and fresh" sign. This indicates fresh hot melty donuts being made. This happens usually three times a day, first thing in the morning, the early evening and late night. I have visited this location off W. Vista way multiple times, each time I ask when the "hot fresh" donut sign will come on....each time I get a different answer... Some have told me 5pm, I've been told 6pm, I've been told sorry it's "not happening today." I understand it's annoying, but JUST be consistent. I know this a brand new shop, but I guess when you employ the entire staff from Handel's (aka the entire Carlsbad H20 team.) to work at your business I guess you're basically guaranteeing a bad time. I don't need another jock, potential broc turner, spoiled rotten, zit faced loser handling my food. I'm OVER IT. I KNOW YOUR DADDY IS TRYING TO TEACH YOU A LESSON AND MAKE YOU WORK A JOB, but I'm not the b**** to mess with. ESPECIALLY IN FOOD SERVICE. Who owns this place? Who did the hiring? Do you realize there's no supervision? It seems as though these 16 year olds just make the rules around there. Last time I was there, my friend was charged for 12 individual donuts instead of a dozen. Bless their hearts. Today I arrived at the drive through at 5:25pm, my fat ass started quivering with delight, like a hog in slop. SURELY I CANT BE TOO FAR OFF from the "hot and fresh" bake time. However... I MENTALLY PREPARED MYSELF, that the 17 year old douche lord baker would PROBABLY let me down again. (I'm pretty sure they don't even bake in store, I wouldn't be shocked if they imported the ones from Stater Bro's or something.) Even knowing my chances were slim to none (even though I'm not slim) I already made up my mind I would STILL PURCHASE the same amount of donuts, even if they weren't hot like I hoped, because I didn't want to be annoying...how nice of me, I should've been mean.... I said "hello" and kindly asked when the hot and fresh donuts would be ready. "Uh...sorry that's not happening until 6:30, yeahhhhhhh UHHHHhhhh soRry" I politely said, "no problem I'll take a half dozen glazed." As I pull up to the second window... the smell of Axe body spray, Tik toks and undeserving BMWs hit me like a ton of bricks. A group of four-five, young, annoying ass teenage boys glared at me, as if they were owls in a dark spooky forest and I was their plump rodent meal on wheels. First off, why TF are there so many young white males? It's like there are clones, do you have any diversity in your staff or is there a certain look/level of annoyance this place is going for? AND WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS STANDING AROUND MAKING TIK TOK DANCES AND GOOFING OFF? I WAS AT YOUR GRAND OPENING THE LACK OF A SENSE OF URGENCY IS VERY CONCERNING. The boys behind the counter were giggling and hopping around like diseased rabbits. One of the boys handed me my box of donuts and said "BECAREFUL! theyre really warm." I instantly knew he was messing with me, and I was sarcastic back. I took the box and drove off..the sound of cracked puberty voices, and the smell of axe will haunt me forever. And to no surprise.....they were old stale and ice cold. Normally I would not want to live up to my fat b**** reputation, and cry about donuts on here. But the snot nosed little asshat who gave me attitude and an old box of donuts, really set me off. How does this happen? Who the hell runs this place? A school principle? A day care teacher? Someone's "cool" mom who hires all the friends. Hire competent staff that is old enough to work a fryer and be decent to customers or DON'T open a business. I was so excited for this location to open, and it's been a disappointment 9 times out of 10. If I want a Krispie Kreme it looks like I'll have to drive to Mission Viejo still...at least legitimate adults work there. If I could fight children and not go to jail, I would've today. read more

I would like to give them a zero but Yelp doesn't offer that as an option. Tried to order online from this new location at 8:45pm and even though they were open until 10:00, they wouldn't take the order. Irritating. So we drove to the store only to find out that they stopped allowing people into the drive thru or to walk into the store. An hour before they close!! When I asked the KK employee who was preventing people from getting into the drive thru why we couldn't get in line, he just responded that they were "done." No idea what that means. If you are open you should sell people some donuts. If you are so overwhelmed that you have to close early, indicate that on your own website so people don't waste their time driving to your store. Ordered 2 dozen doughnut holes ($3.99/doz). We quickly realized that both cups were short 3 doughnut holes. Ok, I understand being short 1 doughnut hole, but not 3 doughnut holes AND certainly, not BOTH cups! It seemed obvious to us that the young lady who helped us was either ignorant or intentionally shortchanged us. So, I went back into the store and approached the young lady who served us and asked her, "How many doughnut holes are in a dozen?" Her response, "It's 12." So, she wasnt ignorant (she was the one who filled the cups). So I asked for the manager. At first, the manager was defensive and tried to make excuses... "Oh! we just opened up on the 30th..." I told her, "Stop. I understand one doughnut missing from one cup, but to have 3 missing from BOTH cups, is either ignorance or intentional." The manager was apologetic at that point and quickly sought to resolve the problem. She gave me a refund on one of the cups and refilled the other and assured me she would talk to the servers, .... again. Fast forward a month later. Hoping for improvement.... same scenario, purchased 2 doz. doughnut holes. Same result and response from management. For sure now, its obvious THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY STEALING. FYI: THIS LOCATION IS NOT OBSERVING SOCIAL DISTANCING OR MASK HEALTH SAFETY ADVISORIES. Beware if this is important to you. Have tried to go here thru the drive thru TWICE this week including this morning. Both times, it was VERY disorganized & the staff outside seemed very rude & stressed. They were dismissive/ignored us when we asked questions multiple times--especially the staff directing traffic. They have a confusing procedure for overflow traffic & it's not really clear where to drive with cones & chains randomly placed just east of their store. They just told us "turn right over there!" which if you do so, you have the choice of ramming into a bunch of white chains or a bunch of weirdly placed cones. :/ Also, the staff we observed outside were not wearing masks consistently, specifically when they come up to your car. One lady had her mask off when she came right up to our window & asked us to lower the window to tell us we had to order from an employee coming outside. We wanted to go thru the drive thru to avoid going inside (where we observed people crowded together chaotically--DEFINITELY not 6 feet apart, more like 6 inches)---BUT, it appears they can't take orders via the speaker & have an employee come outside to take your order at your car. So, the employee came up right next to the car to take our order & we asked if we could just order via the drive thru speaker & he said, "NO, you cannot". We haven't memorized the menu or anything, so we weren't prepared to have a lengthy discussion or handle a menu when we could just as easily read it at the drive thru. What's the point of the drive thru anyways? All said, we just left. If they are this disorganized & not observing safety protocols in plain sight of customers just days after opening, it's concerning what they have been trained to do in the kitchen, preparation, etc. It's probably because it just opened that it's so busy & disorganized, but they are not observing health protocols safely either outside or in-store from what we experienced. read more

Definitely not like the east coast. I'm a huge donut fan and it just tastes like there's something missing. But overall, it's not bad, just not the best. I definitely wouldn't recommend it only because there are so many more other local donut shops that deserve business and they're amazingly good but if you need something quick, then this is the place to go. Whoever they had in the drive thru the day I ordered wasn't the most pleasant person to talk to because she seemed very annoyed and I just felt rushed. Their menu is huge so I had to take a few seconds to see what I wanted for my dozen box and that's why I think she got annoyed. However, I do applaud them for how they handle the traffic coming in and out of the drive thru when it gets super busy. Would I go here again? Most likely not because again, there are other donut shops that are way better. But other than that, it's really only good for its convenience. read more

I love Krispy Kreme. I tried leaving feedback through the app but there's no spot for it so here I am at yelp. Im a believer in "slowing the spread" and I'm ok with masks being required by customers. I'd love if that extended to the staff as well. Most of the staff had them on except for the guy at the window dealing With people in the drive through. Pretty sure nose and mouth need to be covered and he was doing the full on nose out mask over mouth and chin thing. My family is immune compromised and I don't feel like I'll be back. I have issues with confrontation so I didn't say anything. I like the donuts I don't like having to worry about the staff keeping me safe. read more

I've had them literally try to tell me they don't let you get a bottle of juice with a number one combo, despite the fact I was literally looking at the menu that says any sized drink or bottled beverage. Went around 8:30 to grab some late night donuts, the donuts were just blah. The dough was chewy and neither of them seemed fresh. The drive through is odd and there should be a wall/bushes between the ordering speaker and the freeway! Was kind hard having a convo with a Harley cruising by... staff seemed nice but they were all standing close to one another at the drive through window... don't know if I'll go back since I can buy the same donuts at the grocery store. My kids love the hot donuts so I take them as a special treat. In my opinion these donuts cold are not great especially for the price. I have now driven through the drive through twice while the hot donut sign is on only to be given cold donuts and for them to tell me they 'just stopped' making the hot ones. Each time they have made it seem like it was my issue that I did not arrive earlier even though the sign was illuminated. In the future I will go inside to make sure the donuts are actually hot but what a pain in the A to get two kids out of car seats just to cross check them. read more

These donuts are fantastic! Microwaving them for 8 seconds gives you the "hot donuts" experience at home. Love the original glazed, chocolate iced custard filled, old fashioned chocolate, and chocolate glazed on Fridays (also awesome microwaved). Get the app for great deals. Not great overall. Usually get the order wrong-I've had it happen 3 different times with totally wrong orders and quantities. Today, I went in to redeem a $5 gift card I received for purchasing a $30 one in November of 2020. When trying to redeem it, they pointed out it expired in January 2021 and had no intention on accommodating me. Just felt a little bit robbed since I didn't really notice that it did expire in that timeframe AND it was never pointed out to me previously. I put the card in my wallet and forgot. Honestly disappointing on several fronts. Donuts were fair, not overly fresh and certainly not warm. Frosting didn't even cover the edges. For $1,60 for a small donut, I expected a little bit more. It wasn't very busy, so there three employees all standing talking at the drive thru window. That's fine, but the male with the beard had his mask down around his neck while chatting with the two females that did have their masks on. Come on people. I'm not so naive to believe employees don't occasionally pull down their mask--I wish they wouldn't. But to do it in front of customers and around food just show you don't care. Long story short, I paid twice only to receive a wrong order that I made online. The customer service is what earned this review though! I easily got my refund (credited back right away) and also received a follow up call from the GM Edith, who was super friendly and offered me a free reward on my next visit. The Donuts at 09:30 are old and mushy. I pulled in to the drive thru and the machine was barely audible and the lady on the other end was short and rude and was constantly away from the mic. She ended up missing 2 items and forgetting parts of a third. Staff either needs a change or the place should just close down because that was embarrassing for a chained establishment. read more

Come here all the time and it's usually great but today was different. Donuts didn't feel, look, or taste fresh. They were cold and stale. Ordered filled donuts and it had incorrect filling. Normally once you get to the window it takes about 5 minutes to get food and get going, today it took 10+ minutes to get a pre-assorted 12-pack box of donuts. The staff there is GREAT!!! They are all pretty much high school kids and this being their first job. Marquet is polite and very helpful. I have my favorites and he's one of them. What I don't like is how the manager Edith Mar hires these kids while they are still in school and expects them to be available during school hours. She is rude and has NO respect for the staffs time or school priorities. She crosses boundaries when she constantly calls while the kids are in school and tries to make them work every weekend. when a child expresses their concerns about the position, Edith disregards their concerns and proceeds with her wants and needs.
