But the day was busy, so we weren't able to stop in and straighten it out. Until today. We were told they were running a promotion on the 4th, buy a dozen assorted, get a dozen glazed for $5. They must have missed us. When we went in to get a refund for overlooking us, we were told we had to be "members". Since when do you have to be members to get a promotion? There are plenty of yummy donut places in the valley, let alone Burbank. You don't have to be a member of anything to get them. I wish they had more locations as this one is out of the way for me but always hits the spot. Last time I came by was last year when they gave free donuts if you provided them with your vaxx card. We got our first shot a couple of weeks ago and wanted to get our free glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme. We haven't been here in a couple of years so we were gonna get a dozen. We checked their menu on line, but it differs in the store, they have less. No shocker here. There were a few people ahead, had to wait outside to respect social distancing. Once inside it's fun to see the donuts getting glazed on the conveyer belt. We got called in front and they wanted us to order fast. Since we didn't stop by in a while I asked for a minute to check and see what they get. The girl behind the counter seemed kinda annoyed. But you can't see anything till you get there. We got jelly donuts - strawberry, raspberry, lemon, NY cheesecake, fritter, Boston cream, tried a couple filled with chocolate that are new to us. I honestly felt rushed, I'm used shopping at indie donut stores lately so I felt like Krispy Kreme is too much like a factory and don't like that. Not impressed with the customer service, they couldn't give us the free donuts as part of the dozen so we got more than we should have. Lesson learnt. If it will be a next time, we will get less. We went inside of the business to order my free birthday donuts, as well as to try their new French donuts. When we went in, it took a little bit for us to get noticed, and for the employee to ask for our order. I noticed that it took an abnormally long time to pick out the donuts. The employee purposely skipped me in line when handing out free donuts, and the free donuts were not fresh and hot and clearly were not made today. When I got my donuts and looked inside of the box, the donuts were old as you can clearly see the glaze on them has started to turn an opaque white color rather than being a more clear stain as I usually have. My French donut that I was very excited to try had been messed up by the employee, digging her finger into the icing. I moved away from this place and I said I was craving it and drove four hours away to stay in town and said going to try my favorite donut. Krispy Kreme is not just a doughnut, it's a dessert unto itself. I love doughnuts, but to me they are essentially different from a Krispy Kreme. These are, airy light and drizzeld in sweet sugary frosting. You can easily eat 3 or 4 in a sitting. When they are hot out of the oven they are difficult to comprehend in their texture and flavor. It's almost mystical in its essence. This location is clean and seemingly always busy. I've been to Krispy Kreme locations in the area, and in other states. This one even when the line is around the block, seems to always be running well and is stocked with doughnuts ready to go. I don't know how they do it. Looked like lots of donuts made daily. There were lots of people in line but went pretty quickly. Social distance markers were in place so people were food about safety. The workers box your donuts of your choosing up front then ring you up. This store also sells CoffeeBean drinks but does not take the app rewards. Currently if you have gotten your COVID vaccine they do have a promotion of one free original glazed donut. I got a variety of donuts - original glazed, chocolate glazed with sprinkles and the strawberry filled but the original glazed is still my favorite.
