It's so nice to set your alarm, to get up early, to take a 20 minute drive to the Krispy Kreme in Allen, Tx and be there at 6am, only to find out that they are not open and the employees are just walking in at 6:05am and when they see me at the door they come out and tell me that the inside is not open yet and will be another 5 minutes. Then as 5 minutes pass by, I look inside to see what is going on and two employees are just standing around talking. They are not getting the register ready or anything. I continue to wait for another 3 minutes until the guy making the donuts comes over and unlocks the door. I place my order and ask for a decaf coffee. At first, they tell me they do not have any, then they say they don't have any made. Such a disappointment!! It seems that more and more people have no sense of responsibility anymore. This is everything you'd expect from a Krispy Kreme. You go here when the hot light is on and you get hot original glazed donuts. They're amazing. You're free to get the other flavors as well but I'm no doughnut expert and I'd personally only go when the hot light is on. They've got a drive thru and they are located where the old burger king used to be. Made the mistake of ordering doughnut holes and found out they're 2 days old. Good thing we haven't left the drive through lane when we did. Krispy Kreme used to be SO good when I was a child. Now I'm not sure if it's this Krispy Kreme's or all Krispy Kremes together, but the quality has really gone down since having them many years ago. My sister and I ordered two donuts and an ice coffee in the drive thru, and waited just under 15mins for that. There were no cars ahead of us, and no cars behind us,and maybe two cars in the parking lot. I don't think it should've taken that long for our order to come out, and we ordered simple glazed donuts, none of there "limited edition" donuts or anything like that. I could see if our donuts were fresh, but they weren't. The glaze was SUPER crumbly, which means it's kinda old, and somehow the donut was somehow stale but doughy at the same time, it was really strange. And when the girl gave my sister her iced coffee, there was coffee ALL over the cup on the outside and was super sticky, and she us gave no napkins. And soon after my tummy hurt from my donut. I don't think I'd go here again, maybe to another Krispy Kreme to see if it was just this store or not, but definitely not this location again. read more

So good. The donuts here are amazing every single time I come and always fresh. We usually pick up a few donuts for breakfast the night before. I went through the drive thru to get a dozen glazed donuts, and was offered to add another dozen for only 79 cents! It's a lot of donuts, but couldn't resist such a good offer. My experience here today makes me want to never go back, and seeing as there are so many good doughnut shops in the area I probably never will. I went in there today to get some doughnuts and coffee for the guys working on our house. An older lady with glasses walked over (the receipt said Nancy but I can't be sure that it was her name since she did not wear a name tag) and asked what I wanted so I asked for 8 iced coffee. She said she wasn't sure if she had enough coffee in the pot for 8 cups and walked over to the coffee area and started pulling out hot cups. I reminded her that I had asked for iced coffee to which she said she knows but continued to pull out hot cups (???). Luckily, she then realized herself and changed them out for cold cups. No biggie, I wasn't bothered by that. Anyway, she started filling the cups with coffee so I walked over to the doughnuts to see which ones I would get since I needed a dozen. A few minutes later, I look over to her and she had already filled all 8 cups with coffee and was putting lids on them. I saw that there was already milk or it could've been cream, but I wouldn't know because she didn't ask which one I wanted, or that I even wanted any. So I asked if she had put sugar to which she very annoyingly said "You didn't say you wanted sugar". Ummm, well usually baristas will ask when they get to that point and she didn't. Plus, she never even asked if I wanted milk or cream in the coffees and yet she put it in all of them????? She just seemed like she was in a super rush to get those coffees done. When I asked about the sugar, she was just about to put the lid on the 5th cup of coffee and after I asked, she didn't even stop to 1. ask and see if I wanted sugar in the coffees or 2. put sugar in the coffees. Then she continues to put lids on the rest, set them in 2 holders, and brought them in front of me. She pulled out a big box of sugar packets and put a large handful in each cup holder. At this point I'm pretty peeved but I'm not about to let her ruin my day so I decide to just let it go. Then she asks if I wanted anything else and I said yes I'd like a dozen of doughnuts. Now if you've been to this store, you'll know that there are 4 tiers of doughnuts in the display, with 4 different variety in each tier. Tier 1 and 2 are different, but tiers 3 and 4 are repeats of 1 and 2. So I told her I wanted 1 of each from tier 1 and 2. She puts one of each from tier 1 and then tells me that tier 2 is the same as tier 1. I told her that they were different but she continues to argue with me, saying that they're the same. At this point I'm baffled as to why this person is arguing with me on something that is obviously not true. After going back and forth a few times, she was clearly very annoyed and walked out from behind the counter, probably wanting to prove me wrong. But when she came next to me, she realized she was wrong and they were indeed different. She said nothing, no words of apology and stormed back behind the counter and threw 4 more doughnuts in the box. I pointed out a few more from the adjacent counter and asked how many I had because I had lost count. She didn't even look at me and just said "you got your dozen", closed up the box and walked over to the counter. After I paid, I took my coffees and walked over to the counter with stirrers and straws, opened up each coffee, and added 2 packets of sugar in there. I was bringing these for workers who were covered in dust, I wasn't going to expect them to take off their work gloves, clean their hands, and put the sugars in themselves. I am not a difficult customer by any means. I don't like to give people a hard time and I'm generally very understanding and easy going. But this lady clearly hates her job and it shows in everything she did. I'd sooner get my doughnuts from a supermarket than to come back here and withstand this type of torture. read more

I have been here several times and found the doughnuts just as wonderful each and every time! Nothing as wonderful as a hot warm glazed fresh Krispy Kreme!! I only came here out of desperation, after the place I really wanted a donut from had like 10 donuts left (and not the kind I wanted). I tried the maple iced glazed donut here. Yuck. Really. Yes, they have had a few technical difficulties with the lights and drive thru microphone not working, but the employee that I've always seen in the drive thru is wonderful. Her name is Roxanne. I went through this morning to get two glazed donuts. As the worker brought my donuts to the window I noticed she was wearing gloves. She pressed a few buttons (on the screen) on the register with her gloves still on and the buttons didn't do what she needed them to do so she licked her thumb and pressed the register button again. She licked her gloved thumb after not removing the gloves to use the register. When she reached for my payment I said never mind because I just saw you lick your thumb. She said she did it so the register button would work. I was excited to try these donuts after everyone told me how amazing they were. I was not let down by the taste! The donuts were delicious. But, the service was not as pleasing. The cash register was having problems, which I understand. So, it took a couple minutes for my order to be cashed out. I ordered three donuts and two drinks. I got the donuts right away and the frozen drink took a couple minutes, but they forgot my fountain drink. And there wasn't anyone in the line before or after me. So, I reminded them I got a medium drink. They got me a drink, but it was not a medium. At this point I just wanted to go back home, so I left.
