She was super friendly and attentive. I ordered two jumbo jalapeño sausage kolaches and had it warmed up. They were a good size and made for a delicious breakfast. I also ordered a blueberry donut (my weakness) and to my surprise when I got home, they threw in two little donut holes as well. I loved that it's family owned and that they have a good selection. Especially their kolaches as they had minis, regular, and jumbo; so all the sizes to share. The inside has table for you to enjoy at their place. They have a great selection of cake and yeast donuts to try. So something for everyone. I highly recommend checking them out.

But im going to be patient and push through the pain. This shop is basically a rubber stamp of all the other donut shops in the area. Usual suspects, in the usual display case. I think im looking for a different type of shop as much as the best donut. Although there are differences here and there they all feel similar in the offering. I chose a plain glazed from the case, paid and exited outside for "The Test". I was surprised at the first(here to fore refered to as the Bite) Bite. It jumped up to an 8 on the OBT-O-Meter. However, after a chew and swallow, I sensed a barely perceptible, unguent(oily) finish on the back of my tongue. Initially the first bite was really great and I was disappointed when I had to rate it a... 7 on the 1-10 OBT scale I think Ive got a three way tie at 7 on glazed donuts so,Im thinking when I break that 7 to a higher level that is the winner. It appears 7 is a good garden variety glazed donut served at most shops. I literally have been driving around town to find good donuts places and was always a little sad to live too far away to get their most fresh and yummy donuts early in the morning. But I'm so glad I found manna donut (the m is missing on their sign) but you can still see the faint "m". We came here at 10am and that's usually way too late to get anything at a donut place and unfortunately for us we were only able to get their glazed donuts and some of their colorful and pretty mini donuts. Since we liked them so much. I woke up early the next time we felt like eating some yummy donuts with coffee. And I'm so glad I came fairly early. At 7:30 am this place was packed with customers getting their fair share of donuts! And thankfully I was able to get their spinach pastry, kolaches, and raspberry filled donuts. Everything was delicious. Love their friendly customer service. Love this store! 5 stars all the way!!!

Family Donuts have great texture in the donuts I've tried (donut hole, glaze, chocolate bar and twist), just the right amount of sweetness, AND they are NOT hexagon shape like the other donut places around Plano. Friendly lady that seems to be the one running the place. Although Family Donuts aren't the only ones that do this, but I love how the generosity is when buying 3 dozen donuts, got free donuts and those hot dog bun sandwiches. Nice touch.

A McKinney Gem - Outstanding Donuts & Even Better Service!…read moreSonny's Donuts has become our family's favorite spot in McKinney, and for good reason. The quality of their donuts is exceptional - their cronut is an absolute standout with its perfectly buttery, crispy layers that somehow manage to be both decadent and light. You can tell they take real pride in their baking. But what really sets Sonny's apart is their incredible service. During our recent visit, my kids accidentally spilled milk, and the staff's response was beyond what anyone would expect. Not only did they immediately help us clean up without making us feel embarrassed, but they also insisted on giving us another milk on the house. It's these small acts of kindness that turn a good donut shop into a beloved community spot. The prices are more than fair, especially considering the quality you're getting. In a world where great customer service feels increasingly rare, Sonny's Donuts proves that treating people with genuine care and respect is still alive and well. We'll absolutely be back, and I can't recommend this place highly enough to anyone in the McKinney area!
