I was there today this morning, around 10 AM I got a yard of Arizona river rock. And I hand picked twenty other different boulders.Nobody was there to pick the palette up ? Weight it and charge me. .It was a mess.It was too slow.I've been here in this area before, but now customer service is very slow.Another guy was in there.And he said he was there from nine a m, and hasn't even gotten his material.This is not okay if you're gonna hire people.Hire some trained people that knows what they're doing and take care of your customer.This is not okay.!!! I left at 11.45am which one yard of rock crazy?I got things to take care of I have to take care of my own customers and get the job done correctly.Can do it with this slow people. I came to this location for patio pavers and extra material for the project. The staff here was great and I never felt rushed. The pallets that came with the pavers get a refund when returned. Any unused items cannot be returned so make sure you don't over-buy. read more

He was not pleasant, kept speaking to multiple people during my call and although I was charged (with proof) of payment for pickup to POWAY on my proof, he insisted I ordered to San Marcos and gave my contractor a hard time at pick up! Posted this on San Marcos. But, this purchase also implicates the Poway location, so posting here as well. I am so incredibly disappointed with KRC Rock - and consider the rocks I received to have been an absolute, bait and switch. Before ordering the rocks, I went to KRC Rock to check-out the rock display (in Poway) to make sure that the rocks would fit my very specific style. The Mexican Beach Pebbles (Black) on display were great, so I order 1.5 tons from (San Marcos). When the rocks arrived they were lifted in a super bag from the truck and covered in dirt, which made it impossible to inspect for quality at the time of delivery. I figured the rocks would look correct once they were hosed down/cleaned. However, after cleaning the rocks, it was very clear that they looked absolutely nothing like KRC's display. They were much, much lower quality. A substantial percent of the rocks were broken, and frankly I received very few black Mexican beach pebbles. Ultimately, I went and brought bagged Mexican beach pebbles from Home Depot to place over the trash rocks I bought at KRC. Essentially, KRC's rocks are serving as an extremely expensive base gravel for my Home Depot purchase. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. As a Developer/Builder in San Diego for 32 years, I've visited this KRC Rock location many times for my projects in Rancho Santa Fe. The staff here is consistently unfriendly and condescending. When I called the corporate office to complain, I learned that the person I had issues with is the local manager, Ashley. Attempts to contact the regional manager were futile, as I was only given a generic email address. To State the obvious, I will not be patronizing this business ever again. Their lack of customer service and accountability is unacceptable. They're just selling rocks and gravel, and there are many other places in San Diego that treat customers far better. Just wanted to thank all the great staff at KRC Rock for going out of their way to provide fantastic customer service. I came in needing a hard to find artificial turf section of about 12x12 to finish a home installation that was happening now. All I had was a small patch of remnant without a label or tag to match. Ashlee went out of way to find me the exact match and even though that turf is usually a special order that takes days or weeks to get, she made it possible for me to get what I needed within hours so the installers could finish today. I stopped into this location to pick up a few flagstones for a project I was working on. I got there right at closing I actually a few minutes before. No one would take my order it was a few minutes before 4:30 p.m. on a Tuesday. Every single person there was cold, not inviting and would not sell me a few pieces of flagstone at closing."The register has been closed was the answer I got from the teenage cashier" I get it that it was close to closing but I did arrive before they actually closed and I can't ever imagine treating a customer this way. The real bummer was it wasn't only the cashier inside but everyone outside as well tried to run me off like I was infringing on their space or something it was a horrible experience I'll never be back. If I was the owner here I would be extremely disappointed in the way the staff handled themselves. read more

What crappy service from the lady that picked up the phone! I asked her about the cost of soil to fill my raised garden beds and told her I live on the same street as their facility. She asked me what the zip code is for my address, found that to be a silly question since I told her I'm on the same street as them. Told her the zip code and she asked what I needed, so I had to tell her again that I needed soil to fill my raised bed for my garden. She quickly said all she has is too soil that has some manure in it, didn't explain ratios or anything just rushed through the call. I asked about delivery fee since I'm down the street and how much that would cost, she asked for the zip again and then told me it's 116$ up to 11 yards. Told her I didn't need 11 yards I only needed 4 and she said it didn't matter since it's 1 price up to 11 yards, I then asked her is there something cheaper since I'm literally 3 blocks away from them on the same st and she quickly said umm I don't know it's off the zip code so yeah. Terrible service, lady doesn't know how to talk to people or find any solutions. Will skip this place and find another company. read more

I can deal with rude and disinterested people behind the sales counter. Is that a requirement for hiring? I'm older than the dude behind the counter, and I know how to greet people and say thank you. Oh well...I don't have to live with him. Anyway, the rock was delivered, as scheduled, but it was saturated with mud. I mean saturated. Every bucket of rock from the three yards of delivered rock had to be washed with a hose. I think 20% of what I paid for was mud. There are other places to do business. I am truly amazed how they stay in business after reading so many negative reviews on Yelp and Google. I'm going to try RCP in Escondido. read more

The product we got was nice, but the service was a failure. The product had to be delivered in two trips because we got three products, topsoil, and two types of rocks, and they can only deliver two products at a time. That means two delivery charges. During the first delivery, they didn't follow the instructions I gave when ordering. The delivery guy said that the instructions weren't communicated from the order to the employees loading the truck. I asked for a small amount of product as compensation in the second delivery, and we'd call it good. I doubt if it was $20 of material. The delivery guy agreed to do it. When the second delivery came, he didn't have the extra material. read more

This location was close or my house, was excited to be doing business here. Really wanted to like this place. 1. Shorted materials First, I was shorted materials. Within a couple days, I made 3 purchases here. Each time I purchased 1.5 yards of rock. (3 scoops from their bulldozer scooper) This amount always fills the bed of my pickup, to the very top. On the second of the our three purchases, we got home and noticed that the truck was only 2/3 full. Which means we got two scoops not three. I immediately phoned and they said to come back for the missing scoop. . 2. Scooper guy refused to give us the shorted amount, after office guy told him too. We came back and ordered more stuff and the guy told us to tell the scooper guy to give us an extra scoop cuz our last order was shorted. Just then the driver came in the office, so desk guy told him directly, to give us an extra scoop to make up for being shorter. The scooper guy refused. He said he's been working there 14 years and never made a mistake, and that we were wrong about being shorted. Kinda felt like he was CYA-ing himself, for job security. The desk guy didn't have any authority to have scooper guy give us the shorted amount. 3. Attn Owner: I have photo proof if you need it. Owner, if you are reading this, I have photos of second order (which was shorted and filled my truck only 2/3 full. Plus photo of third order which filled my truck to the brim. 4. Office guys courtesy skills I agree with Darcy, Noemi, Andy H and the dozen other yelpers who had bad customer service experiences. Seems the two guys in the office are both trying to be "cool" for the other, and part of that act is being monotonous & laid back & a don't care attitude. I've been here a couple of times. They have a good selection of rocks and such. Their parking lot is gravel-ish and not good in the rain, but finding a spot isn't an issue. My only problem with them is the customer service. From the front end to the guys who load your truck, they're not very friendly or communicative.
