We want to fully remodel our bathroom and was referred to MSI by our contractor(s), We first met with Destiny at the front desk. She is so nice, professional and very helpful. A+ customer service and very knowledgeable. Then we met with Kevin to show us around the gallery of the available natural stone slabs. Like Destiny, he was awesome. A+ customer service and very knowledgeable. And better yet, I found they had the best prices for the type of quartzite we wanted. I highly recommend this store if you're searching for natural stone, tiles, etc for remodeling. A+ all the way. Joe and Marie read more

Our contractor sent us here to pick out a slab for our kitchen. They have a huge warehouse to walk through and view many quality items! Only comments is that we were looking for a jumbo size slab. This proved to be difficult as they don't have an easy way to search there inventory for this, the online portal only shows "total sqft" which doesn't help you know how long or wide it is. I had to look slab by slab, other companies were able to easily filter by this. I brought multiple different slab numbers to them to ask about and all of them were already reserved for other people. That was also time consuming versus them having a better way to identify products already on hold. read more

We were so fortunate to find Cece Randolph, an account manager at Pro Source Wholesale, who works with MSI (MS International) located at 7130 Miramar Road in San Diego. She set us up to visit MSI, and what a plethora of tiles, wood floorings, outdoor pool and grass materials, countertop slabs, and other materials they have in their showroom. We were warmly greeted by an exceedingly helpful customer service rep by the name of Luger and later assisted by Kira and another helpful customer service rep. We must have spent at least at hour from the time we walked in until we left, browsing through their huge selection of products and talking to the 3 reps. They were so kind and informative. They were there to answer questions and provide any assistance we wanted. We appreciated them just letting us browse throughout their entire warehouse. We took pictures of the items we liked. When we went to the counter, they gave us a couple of free samples of the items we were seriously interested in. They even wrote up the information of the materials we had selected and sent it to Cece Randolph, who is helping us in selecting our flooring, cabinet, and countertop materials. We highly recommend MS International as a resource for any home remodeling needs. Great customer service and a huge variety of quality products. read more

In 2002, we had over 2,000 sqft of porcelain pavers installed - look beautiful. Stair treads do not match - now they say they "blend".... apparently not made in sane location. Why not? Also, only buy with a contractor connection as the pricing is crazy! Looking to do the front yard. They give us a retail pricing - Gritzo Almond was quoted at $12.66 /sqft - Google search shows local store carries "MSI Gritzo Almond" at $8.34. Cannot figure out why? So going to showroom is ok but kinda a waste of time. And different contractors get different deals.... Pool guy got a way better discount than landscape contractor will if I go through MSI directly. read more

Customer service is lacking on MSI's part they do everything they can to not take responsibility for newly engineered product they sell. The contractor Alberto Pacheco construction did the same so who do I call for help ? Nobody just out thousands and have to redo floors through our house again 3 years after install. Can't fight a multi million dollar company . read more

This review is for my experience browsing but I have not yet purchased (although I am planning to buy MSI products through a local retailer who uses MSI helps with install). I really am only open to tile at the moment and MSI has the best variety and the prices were half of what other stores were charging. They have an employee check on you periodically but they aren't pushy or rush you, they offer ideas when you need it and they get you samples which is a huge bonus. Parking is tough; the spots are thin and people park super crooked to try and get more space but it just creates a mess. Other than that I'm hoping to close the deal on floors and purchase here. read more

I had wonderful experiences at MSI, going there several times shopping for countertops for my kitchen. I want to recognize Sebastian, Destiny, and Kevin for their excellent, and caring customer service. I received awesome help from all of them in different fazes of my search. Also a shoutout for Wholesale Cabinets who put me in touch with Sebastian. Sebastian listened carefully to the direction I want for my kitchen and countertops, and the type of Taj Mahal I was looking for. He gave me some good advice. Kevin was very efficient to where (location) I can see the Taj choices I was looking for, and to display the chosen bundle. Destiny helped me decide, based on my taste, the slabs from the bundle. I highly recommend MSI San Diego, and ofcourse, doing your own homework and research to achieve your desired results. read more

We had an outstanding experience at MSI. The quality of their products is excellent, and their customer service was just as impressive! They have a huge selection of countertops, flooring, backsplash, and more--plenty of options and excellent layout. What really stood out was the zero-pressure environment. Even without any sales pressure, every staff member we interacted with was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. We were able to take our time, explore, and actually enjoy the process. Honestly, this was probably the best selection experience we've ever had--it ended up being the most fun part of our home renovation. Highly recommend! read more

Big shout out to Destiny for going above and beyond while managing my order. I ran into some issues with my contractor account, and she stayed on top of everything from start to finish. She worked between multiple departments, kept communication clear, and made sure my order was expedited without delays. What stood out most was her professionalism, urgency, and willingness to take ownership instead of passing the issue along. She made a stressful situation incredibly smooth and represented the company extremely well. Employees like Destiny are the reason contractors continue coming back and trusting the service provided. She absolutely deserves recognition for her effort, customer service, and dedication. read more

We stopped into this store looking for terrazzo tile. The woman at the counter told us they don't carry it, which was fine -- it was clear this wasn't a high‑end tile retailer. Since we're considering retiling a bathroom, we figured we'd still take a look around. Before we could browse, she insisted we "sign in" for "security" so they could collect all of our information. That immediately raised red flags. Why would a tile store need personal data just to let customers walk the showroom? What exactly are they doing with it -- running checks, storing it, selling it for marketing? At that point, we turned around and left. If you visit, be cautious -- or provide minimal information when asked to "sign in." read more

All the custome service reps have been so kind and helpful. But I cannot say enough great things about Destiny. She has helped me narrow my choices based on what I'm trying to achieve, and has helped me bring my vision forward. read more

We are in the middle of a backyard upgrade. I am a little OCD plus anxiety and that's not a great combination when picking tile! I started at MSI first (rec from my contractor) but then went to 5 other tile places in search of my holy grail. I spent every day for a week with a headache. Today I decided to go back to MSI and was greeted by Carlos Lares who literally stayed with me the entire time, listened to my concerns, looked at my pictures (plus my neighbor's yard) and then proceeded to guide me through picking and coordinating literally EVERYTHING. He showed me stuff in the back (I didn't even know there was a back!!!) searched high and low for samples, made sure we exhausted every single idea, and then ordered even more samples to be delivered to my house. I left there with SUCH RELIEF! And the first day I don't have a migraine since this project started. Carlos spent an hour with me and it was the best hour ever because he helped me pick choices I hadn't even considered or known about. When I got back home and showed my contractor, he was actually so impressed with the choices and coordination. Everything was unique yet so cohesive. I now can't wait for this project to be finished and will 100% ONLY work with Carlos for future projects (next up, a bathroom renovation). So very grateful for incredible customer service and knowledge. And someone later told me that Carlos was new and I would never have guessed. Thank you Carlos for giving me peace (and sleep) again!!! read more

I highly recommend MSI and specifically Sebastian. Everything about the experience was professional from beginning to end. Sebastian was so fun to work with and also very creative with his input about tile and countertop selection. At the end of the process of selecting two different kinds of tile and countertops, Sebastian followed up to make sure I was pleased with the final results. During the selection process, he was super responsive to my inquiries and always positive and upbeat about providing me with more samples to take home and consider. And I found the pricing to be really good as well. read more

I was referred to MSI by my contractor to look at slabs for my countertop. Luger was the one who helped me there, and I received top-notch, attentive service, without pressure. It took me a while to sort through the options and I appreciated being able to take my time and also get my questions answered. We talked about my future projects. In doing so, I also discovered he had a really nice selection of flooring that I will be needing down the road. I left with a stack of samples to decide between. All so easy. I'm happy to have found this place and a salesperson that I know I can work comfortably with. I need to look no further. read more

MSI - Flooring Near Me - San Diego, California

We bought quartz for a large project in our home, including kitchen counter, hall counter and laundry room counter. We had discoloration with one of the slabs in the kitchen and we had to "fight" with them to get a new slab. The new slab had the same problem. After numerous phone calls, we finally had someone out who said they took a course in how to repair the slab. He was there hours, with at least 15 different bottles of solutions, and it was the same when he left as when he arrived. We finally gave up, and I finally used acetone to take off the top layer of finish, and then polished it. That worked! Several years later, my husband and I were sitting in the family room and heard a loud noise. When we went into the kitchen, there was a crack in the quartz. So, armed with my "Lifetime Warranty" I called MSI to get a replacement. They refused. They said it was installed incorrectly (without coming out to inspect). The warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on. We are now going to replace all the counters in the kitchen rather than deal with MSI. I called the manufacturer, and they told me MSI was the only company that sells this particular quartz design. My recommendation is to avoid MSI at all costs. read more

MSI was our fourth or fifth stop when we went shopping for stone for the master shower walls and counter top. very extensive selection. gorgeous rocks. Shadia Sanchez, who helped us navigate the extensive "slab yard," was a delight. after much teeth-gnashing, some hair-pulling, and several threats of physical violence, we "agreed" on Platinum Blue Quartzite. ridiculously expensive, but stunningly beautiful with a wave effect that's perfect for a bathroom. particularly like the arced, white inclusions that look like dolphins. can't wait until Joe Martin and the fine folks at Mastercraft finish the remodel. read more

MSI - In the showroom - Flooring Near Me - San Diego, California

Very poor business practices and customer service. I do not recommend. Sales people only get interested in you when it is time to pay or to fend off a return. And no credit cards without paying a fee to use one. Will not accept returns after 30 days and even when they do accept a return there is a restocking fee. So a totally unfriendly customer environment. And on top of this they say you must be with a contractor when you are in there. I have very strong suspicions that there is a kickback to contractors who bring customers in there. Yes a nice selection of stuff but I am not sure it is a particular bargain compared to others. If Home Depot operated like this they would go out of business. Tried to return less than $100 of products that were excess to our remodeling project that was completed in Dec-Jan. All products were in unopened boxes and completely in good shape. Just excess to our project. Would not accept a return, even though it is not realistic to complete a remodeling project over the holidays in 30 days. I returned approximately $250 dollars worth of supplies bought at Floor and Decor at the same time without them batting an eyelash. So MSI bad, Floor and Decor good. Because of this experience I would tell you don't go in there and don't let a contractor drag you in there. Very consumer unfriendly. read more

Let me tell you. My wife and I have been shopping countertops looking for quartzite slabs for our kitchen for months all over Orange County, the Inland Empire and San Diego. MSI Surfaces in San Diego IS UNQUESTIONABLY THE ONLY PLACE TO GO. The selection is unbeatable, and the quality of premium slabs of every material, color and pattern imaginable, and outstanding customer service is unequalled anywhere else. We were fortunate to have met Mr. Kevin Rinner who provided exceptional service through his knowledge, experience, and patience answering all of our questions with the highest level of professionalism, courtesy and exemplary execution. Not only did we find our perfect countertop slabs, but the entire experience was truly remarkable in its efficiency and thorough customer-centric service. We cannot recommend MSI Surfaces in San Diego enough, and cannot express our appreciation and gratitude to everyone there, but most especially to Kevin. read more

All I can say is Destiny is amazing! We went in not sure exactly which piece of our slab we wanted to use and she got right to work. Not only does she have great eye but she knew exactly how to gently nudge us in the right direction without being pushy. She also recognized our needs when we were contemplating wether or not to use backlighting. So she set up a whole lighting area so that we could see what the back light was going to look like. She moved slabs around like it was no big deal. Well we fell in love with it. She went above and beyond what was required and it made all of the difference. I'm more than happy with our purchase and very pleased with the customer service read more

Avoid. The experience was a symphony of chaos, conducted by the untrained, played on instruments of miscommunication, set to a tempo of ineptitude. You will be left waiting (4 hours, baby crying in stroller). You will make an appointment (and show up on time), but you will not be given attention (30 minutes later, who is helping me?). They will overpromise (53 slabs of your selected model waiting here for you!), but they will under deliver (actually, there's only 4 slabs of the kind, and 2 are sold). They will give you hope (we're unloading a truck now!) and they will break you quietly (sorry it's just taking longer for some reason). Then they will crush you (there's nothing on the truck that you). Your rep will take his lunch (1 hour) and be surprised that you're still there when he returns... Do not wade into this swamp of frustration. I would rather take a number at the DMV on a Monday than find myself within a 9-iron of this parking lot ever again. read more

Came here looking for kitchen counter slabs. They have a nice showroom, plus a good selection of slabs in their indoor slab yard. But, as far as working with them, it was sort of a pain: 1) you need to register your name and contact info at the front desk before they will let you in the door. 2) although they will give you retail pricing, they will not give you a clue of what their contractor pricing is; to get this one has to bring their contactor with them (I asked if my contractor could just call in and give a verbal to pass through his savings to us, and they said no: all pricing is between them and the contractor and the contractor has to pay for the slab and we would have to then reimburse the contractor). 3) we found the slab we thought we wanted to purchase (Calacatta Miraggio Gold Quartz) , but we asked them to remove the plastic covering so that we could see the whole slab in its natural form before committing to it; they're answer was "No"; they said they have too much dust in their warehouse that would work its way into the slab (it sure didn't seem very dusty to us). In the end, we drove up to Granix in San Marcos and purchased the Calacatta Miraggio Gold Quartz from them since they allowed us to see the slab with the plastic removed, and Granix displays their discounted pricing up front on all quartz products (so no need to involve our contractor or guess at a net contractor price). IMHO, I'd definitely recommend Granix to MSI. read more

MSI will not sell to you unless you're a licensed contractor. I only found this out on my second trip down there from north county, after having spoken to reps three times and after having wasted hours of travel time. I'm not sure the rationale for this, or why they are even listed on Yelp at all since effectively speaking they are not actually open to the general public. I also don't know why they aren't more clear about this on their Yelp listing. So, deduction of points for being misleading. I also think it's a silly policy... why on earth would they refuse a sale? I, like 99% of the world, am using a licensed contractor who told me I need to buy the materials myself for the project. Unfortunately, MSI refused to sell to me even after I explained this. I even offered to give them his contact information to confirm I'm working with a licensed contractor on this project. They offer a large selection of tiles and "ceramic slabs." When their rep was showing me the options (on my first visit), I was steered away from my stated preference and toward the direction of these giant slabs. I found out, after probing, that they are basically all plain ceramic with designs *printed* on them to make them look like other materials. It was presented to me as being the most popular choice right now, and that all the high end homes were putting them in. I did feel like it was a bit too pushy on the sales side. Their selection really is quite good. That's the nicest thing about MSI - and what drew me to them in the first place. Also, their show room is large, well-lit, and pretty. All of which would have been quite nice ... if they actually would have sold me any products. read more
