This is the best place to get halal on Long Island. Period…read more I've been getting halal for around 15 years all over NY and Long Island, and Hamza has maintained its status as the most consistent in quality over the years. The original cart off Little Neck Parkway was always a go to, and we would be back and forth between Hamza and Mecca (the cart next to it) for best in town. I always felt that Mecca had the highest ceiling (when it was on, it was ON best ever). Hamza was always a steady second, but in recent years Mecca has fallen off a bit yet Hamza has remained steady. It's good to say they have additional locations too now throughout the island making them a better option then Shahs which many default to. Between the portions, the mix, the sauces, and the quality, this is the closest you can get to the top NYC street meat halal on Long Island. Consistency is key, and Hamza and Marina have maintained their high quality even through expansion. As always... extra white!

Very busy take out restaurant. I walked in one Friday night and placed my order at the counter…read more The young lady who took my order was very polite and professional. Nice! Not what I'm typically used to. I waited around a bunch of customers and Doordash folk picking up their orders and 25 minutes later got my food. The dishes weren't what I was accustomed to from other Chinese takeout restaurants, but they were pretty good. The general tso's chicken was very meaty but had a different kind of sauce than I've gotten in other places; it was more barbecue-like than the thick, sweet, spicy, orange glaze I'm accustomed to. The chicken in garlic sauce was good. The chicken, as well as the vegetables, were shredded, which is different than I'm accustomed to. The chicken lo mein was perfect with a tasty smoky flavor. I'm taking one star off for the egg rolls which are always my favorite part of a Chinese dinner. They weren't piping hot, right out of the fryer. While tasty, they were only a bit warm and soggy. I'm thinking they have a ton sitting ready to go on a busy night, but aren't dropped in the frying vat when ordered. But all in all, this place was great - good service and good food - and I'll definitely visit again.

THIS IS A REVIEW FROM AN UBEREATS ORDER…read more This was my boyfriend and I's first time trying Yoyo chicken after hearing great things and we were really looking forward to it but was horribly disappointed. (TLDR - we both got sick) Placed an uber eats order for tenders & fries and it came fairly quickly so the chicken was still hot & crispy, though the waffle fries we ordered were steamed together so it was kinda soft. The tenders look like they were flattened then fried which I appreciated because that means theres more surface for the seasoning & extra cripsy. However, my bf who ordered the Original said his was bland & tasted plastic-y ( i thought it was ok, underseasoned but not necessarily plastic). My tenders were supposed to be Very Hot but it wasnt particularly spicy and had a slight acidity which makes me wonder if i got the hot lemon pepper instead? There was definitely seasoning though because it was visibly reader & coated in an oil that but it wasnt particularly flavorful. (I recently got Famous Daves and will say its not as flavorful as their Hot). The main issue came after when my bf suddenly felt unwell and said his stomach hurt, we originally figured it wasnt related to yoyo chicken and was a fluke because I felt okay and this was the only meal we shared. However, hours later both my bf and I woke up from stomach pain and were pretty violently ill. (Ill save you guys the details). Unsure what happened because we heard great things (albeit from a different location) but I honestly dont think we will risk trying yoyo chicken again

The chicken was perfectly seasoned, super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside -- not greasy at all. You can tell they actually care about consistency and quality. I ordered to go, and this is the part that impressed me most: by the time I got home and opened the bag, the food was still hot . Not "kind of warm" hot -- actually hot and fresh like it just came out of the kitchen. That alone says a lot about how they package and time their orders. Portion sizes were solid, flavors were on point, and everything tasted freshly made. This is definitely a go-to spot if you want good chicken without the wait or disappointment. I'll 100% be back and honestly might make this a regular stop. Highly recommend.
