The official shahs packets i understand a extra charge but i used to come here regularly and get a small 5oz thing of white sauce no problem like every other location in NY. The owner doesn't realize they actually will lose money that way when they treat their customers so poorly and cant even train employees to speak correctly. When I found out that I could get Shah's halal in Long Island AND be there in 10 minutes, you know I got excited! Usually I'd have to drive all the way to Queens to get halal so this was a great find! The parking is really convenient and the shop is a good size, not too big, and there is seating inside the restaurant as well. I purchased chicken over rice and it was just like the halal carts you find in Queens, and the best part was the variety of fresh vegetables they offer at this location! I was really happy to see I didn't just get lettuce and tomatoes with my halal, instead I opted for the bell peppers and chopped cucumbers and tomatoes. The cute Salvadorean girl that helped me went out of her way to take both the chicken & lamb gyro for my platter and crisp it up a little. I wanted falafel original but the real stuff looked amazing. I've been dating someone with an equal love of food so we're always trying new places and new things. I tried Halal for the first time two weeks ago off a food cart in queens. It was delish and a great first experience for me. We passed by on our way elsewhere. We were excited to see what looked like an authentic quality Halal spot. Two weeks later I'm on my way home from Massapequa to Oceanside. Platters of food for 6.99 with a free pita on the side. Umm ok. Two platters two pitas two Snapples, $1 tip and tax was $22.49. When I took the bag of food off the counter I was amazed at the weight. Fast forward to home. Appealing look and the food is perfect. Basmati rice cooked to perfection. The chicken is to die for. It's so juicy and tender with the perfect flavoring of spices. We had just the lettuce which was all we needed in addition to ALL that meat and rice. Delicious. Authentic. Worthy of the ride every other week probably. I'm glad I saved some for a midnight snack. In addition the gentlemen who seemed like an owner or manager was so sweet and friendly.
