Guys. This. Is. Pizza. If you get me talking about pizza, we could be here all day. So let me tell you the criteria I judge on and I'll let you use that as your guiding principle on why I think Krause's is the Crust: the foundation of the pizza. If crust were a musical instrument it would be drums or bass. Right? It is the driving force, the pillar of the creation. This crust has middle-ground mass appeal. It has the best of both worlds; thin crust crispiness on the bottom and thick crust chewiness in the middle to satiate both appetites. And the ridge of the crust has a sturdy, dippability that everybody loves. I'm a thick crust lover by heart and this got thumbs up from me. My kids love thin crust and they also approved. Mass appeal at its best. Sauce: tomatoey, not over-seasoned, and the perfect blend of salt and spice to add that layer of "rhythm guitar" to this pizza musical medley. You know it's there and it's good enough to not distract you from the other elements. It keeps you on track. Cheese: to me, cheese is the singer. The first person you see, the one you pay the most attention to. Let. Me. Tell. You. They use this crazy provolone blend that is stretchy and flavorful. Slightly greasy, but in a good way. If your pizza is too hot, be careful because the cheese will pull right off. Show some restraint: wait a minute. Let the cheese set and realize the best things come to those who wait. Those seven minutes will be worth it. Toppings: these are the lead guitarists, the back-up singers and the cowbell to your pizza band. We got plain cheese but we also had mushroom and one sausage/pepper/onion combo. The fine crumble of the sausage had a good flavor that spread across each piece and the onions were heavy-handed (which IMO is a good thing. If you want onions, YOU ARE COMMITTED) and the peppers were fresh and flavorful. The mushrooms...obviously not fresh, but not that overly salted squeaky type of mushroom that makes you cringe. Good in my book. Bottom line: this is a hometown favorite for a reason. Give them a try and you won't be sorry. read more

If you're looking for good pizza in canton then this is the place to go. This being my wife and I's first time in the area we came here because of their rating and were not disappointed. We ordered a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza with double crust and not only was it tasty but also extremely filling. Its almost like eating a pizza sandwich with pepperoni and mushroom and cheese in the middle topped off with more pizza crust and melted cheese on top. You get much more pizza goodness this way. I can't speak for the other items on the menu but we enjoyed the pizza. This place does get busy so I would recommend calling in your order. However the wait wasn't too long and the price was decent so I would come here again read more

They have the BEST "DOUBLE CRUST PIZZA" in stark county. I have a daughter in Texas that has us send her 1/2 baked frozen pizza from there just because they don't have a place like this in Texas! Yes I do send it in a cooler with DRY ICE in a cooler with Fedx or UPS and it is still frozen when it gets there! As I grew older, I added more traditional pizza toppings-pepperoni, onions, mushrooms and "mangoes". (For some reason, Massillonians refer to green peppers as "mangoes." It wasn't until I was married and on my honeymoon in Mexico that I learned what a real mango was.) I just had Kraus' for the first time in several years. The pizza box touts Mama Kraus...I don't know who Mama Kraus is; Larry Kraus was always the face of Kraus' growing up and Amherst was the location closest to our house. My sisters and I believed that the secret ingredient in the pizza was Mr. Kraus' sweat. That's why Amherst was the best. I still get a Kraus' pizza every time I'm in Massillon. Given the choice, I'd probably pick a deep dish Chicago pizza from Giordano's over Kraus' these days, but it's still a decent pie. I love that it tastes almost exactly the same as it did 30+ years ago. My kids are fond of the double crust, but I always order the same old same old. Being new to Massillon, Kraus' was new to me, but it is now our go-to pizza source. Yes, it is that good. Get the double crust ( aka "topper") to understand how awesome their pizza can be. This place has absolutely the best fried chicken I've ever had. Sure, it is primarily a pizza place and their pizza is very good, but the chicken is what keeps us coming back. We crave it! The employees are friendly and very helpful. My biggest complaint is that it is often very difficult to get through to someone on the phone, particularly on a busy Friday or Saturday evening.
