Döner Roasted Chicken Dürüm Wrap (Bigger than a burger) Roasted Chicken Döner Kebab

Loved this place! Unfortunately, they were out of the beef, but we had the chicken (as a regular dǒner and a wrap) and it was delicious.

Ok I was going to give this place a much lower star value because at around 1:15 they were already out of the tofu and the roasted vegetables (and I had prepaid / preordered the vegan kebab on ClassPass), but it was actually still pretty good. They gave me two premium sides instead (cauliflower and hummus) which weren't quite as satisfying as the tofu would have been but still quite good. I'll say this place is still worth a try if you're vegetarian/vegan, but they seem to have inventory issues so try to come early in the day (11-12:30pm) to make sure they're in stock and the food is fresh and available.

Döner sandwich. Good veggies in particular. Alright meat. Good portion size as the pide was quite big

Side note, I honestly would list this place as German and Turkish along with kebab as I think that's been more accurate than beer garden as the only beer here they have I believe is the alright Radeberger. Döner Kebab serves up a slightly more elevated version of a late night drunk food from the Turkish immigrants found in Berlin and a few other parts of Germany. The food here is decent being better than the Hugh location (which I'm surprised I gave a four but whatever) but is still just fine. The veggies are good quality and the highlight which is odd for this type of sandwich. The bread is an alright take on a pide and the beef which is $2 more is fine though not what I expected in terms of texture and I would go with chicken if I was to go back here. The hot sauce has a good kick reminding me a bit of harissa while the white sauce was pretty standard. This is a decent place within the Dekalb Market but there's better in the surrounding neighborhoods which has better Mediterranean and Middle Eastern options not too far away. Still a good enough option and the portion is quite nice especially for a pricey market like this one.

Roasted Chicken Over Rice Pilaf Bowl (GF)

I found this spot on ClassPass' Food & Drink section and decided to give it a try. I was initially having so much trouble finding this food stall, but Kotti Döner Kebab is located right by the escalators in the basement of Dekalb Market Hall. I ordered their Roasted Chicken Rice Pilaf Bowl and waited ~7 min. I was starving, so this bowl SLAPPED. The chicken was tender and their onion-tomato-cucumber-dill tzatziki topping was SO YUMMY with every bite. The service is a bit slower, but it's really only because there's only a few people running a pretty popular stall. Their prices are standard food hall prices, aka not cheap. Had I paid for this bowl instead of ordering through ClassPass (7 credits), this would've came out to $15.25 before tax! Overall, would come back if I'm starving, but was otherwise great to try!

First time here and it won't be my last. This wrap is so good. It was supposed to be on pita bread I believe but it had sesame seeds and I like to be cautious because of my peanut tree nut allergy.. this is so flavorful

This was my first time ordering food from here. I ordered a bowl online and decided to do a pickup order. The food wasn't ready when I arrived and I had to wait a few minutes before the person to acknowledge me. I eventually had to call out to them. They made the bowl while I stood there. They were a bit skimpy on the portion, especially the protein. The food tasted fresh and tasty. The sauces were delicious but the portions did feel small for the price.

beef doner, not on a spit, pretty average
    Lucas W.

So I saw the spits and assume the doner would be coming off the spit. But no, only the chicken doner comes off the spit, the steak is just quickly grilled on a flat top and so the steak didn't have that great doner flavor you know and love. Not well seasoned. And honestly that's the whole reaction, just far too bland overall. Negligible sauce, negligible spice, negligible seasoning. I asked for extra spicy sauce and was given a snarky "oh we typically charge extra for this." Seriously? I'm the only person ordering from you on a Saturday night and just paid for a beer and a doner wrap and you're like "oh we normally nickel and dime you for a tiny bit of hot sauce" As average as it gets. Wouldn't get again.

    Roasted Chicken Doner Kebabs $14.50

This has become my favorite spot at the food hall. I was craving some Mediterranean flavors and this spot hit all the spots. We came on a Saturday afternoon and the food came out quickly. We got 2 doner kebabs which had greens, cabbage, onions, feta cheese and a mix of sauces. The menu said they were bigger than burgers and that felt like an understatement! Our sandwich was packed to the brim and super flavorful! We absolutely loved the softness with slight chewiness of the Turkish pide bread. The chicken was juicy and paired well with all the other seasonings and toppings, all for $14.50! This spot blew my taste buds away and I will definitely be visiting again! Great spot for refreshing flavors and a good portion!

Wandered in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the space, the speed, and of course, the food. I ordered a half rice and half salad chicken bowl with all the fixings (white sauce, hot sauce, pickled veg) and waited in the store to run it back to the office. The chicken was juicy and tender, though a little sweeter than I expected. The white sauce didn't have that classic German or Turkish twang of garlic but it was creamy and smooth and cooled the mild spice from the red sauce nicely. Topped off with a cola, my entire meal was reasonable priced, delicious, and fast. The entire meal came out in less than 5 minutes. So why 5 stars to start? Well, I've been eating at kotti since they opened up a spot in dekalb market hall but I will say that this smaller delivery based location is faster and slightly more delicious. (Just slightly though, haha)

    Doner kebab sandwich

Located in the basement of the mall, it's very close to the escalator heading downstairs. The restaurant is just one of the 35 outlets in the food court, nothing much to say about the atmosphere/ambiance. The service was quick but the staff didn't seem that friendly to me. Food felt okay, the pita bread and veggies were fresh along with chicken which was flavorful but the quantity of chicken felt less and it felt a lot bready to be precise when having it. The cost is definitely a bit on the higher side compared to the quality which was offered. Overall an average experience.

I bookmarked the spot to come back to, and within the week, I came back and ordered takeout for the dish most fellow reviewers raved about -- the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao. When I got home and opened the bag, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small side salad and the dish I recognised from a visit to another nearby restaurant specialising in Uzbeki food -- the plov! The rice was really well seasoned and the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was really flavourful and well balanced, even for take-out. Unlike the other place, this plov was still sweet without being cloyingly so. I had such good impression that I'm excited to return in the future and try their other dishes, since I heard *everything* Dunya Kebab House does is impeccable.

I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. Guru Hingal (4/5) - served in a warmed bowl with a lid in a bed of soft pasta and minced lamb. The pasta reminded me of chow fun (Chinese rice flat noodles) and then some seasoned minced lamb. While overall there were flavors in there, it was still lacked flavors and required to be drowned in the Tzatziki sauces or perhaps a order of table hot sauce. Finally we got the Lamb Lulya Kebab (5/5): this was by far the best dish of the meal! The meat was so wonderfully seasoned throughout, juicy, and complemented well with the rice, onions, and tomato based dip. The wraps themselves were way too small to enjoy using hands so we definitely reconstructed on our plates and attempts with our hands.

You can also get some spicy sauce for the same price, which does not come standard with the box. I didn't try the spicy stuff, but I would next time. The rice and the crunchy, shoestring-style spiced fries were great, but of course the biggest star of the box was the ridiculously tender chicken.
