I stopped in on my way home one evening to try Chicken Feasting located in Schenectady NY on Union Street. I never had heard of this restaurant which I found out is new to this upstate area- they have various locations downstate in Manhattan. My understanding is the owner is looking at expanding into other locations in the Capitol Region. The decor was inviting, clean and peaceful. The woman at the register was helpful and friendly. I order off the Greek specialty menu, a large Lamb Gyro meal. The meal came with a Greek salad - choice of French Fries or Rice with a large Lamb Gyro on fresh pita bread with Tzatziki sauce. I chose the french fries and balsamic dressing for the Salad. The salad was fresh, a nice variety of tomato, cucumber, olives, carrots with a nice sized wedge of Feta Cheese. The balsamic dressing is house made and to be honest, the best I have ever had. The French fries were crisp - not greasy with minimal salt. Very good. The Gyro was filled with a healthy portion of lamb, shredded lettuce, tomato and Tzatziki sauce. The meal came with additional Balsamic dressing and Tzatziki sauce. The total cost of the meal was under $20 USD - and worth every penny. I will be returning to try out some other goodies from the extensive menu which includes chicken, steak and beef ribs. read more

Chicken Feastin is my go-to when I order delivery! The cats salivate and jump on me whenever I order this! Their charcoal grilled chicken is absolutely fantastic. The chicken is always juicy and flavorful, and they have an incredible marinade for their chicken. The ribs are also absolutely fantastic. Called in my order for pick up and right of the bat the customer service was a little bit poor in my option. The guy who took my order didn't even ask me if I wanted anything else just told me the price and that it would take about 10 minutes then just hung up the phone. Once I came to pick up my order the place was empty and my order was ready for pickup. This platter cost me $17 which I think is a bit much. The food it self was good just the chicken was a bit salty. Everything tasted fresh so I couldn't complaint. I was looking to order something semi healthy for dinner and came across this place & spoiler alert: it's surprisingly great! I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter which came with a great portion of protein, Greek salad, yellow rice, & pita. The chicken was seasoned and grilled to perfection which made up for the underwhelming and relatively bland sides. I was looking forward to trying their tzatziki, but they didn't include it. Sometimes a hit, sometimes a massive miss. We've been getting food from here over the past year and we love the gyro. Always a hit! It's not gamey like the gyro carts are. However, the grilled chicken is consistently a miss. Any dish that has grilled chicken is over dried. It doesn't matter if it's thighs or breast, they equally dry them out. As someone else said, when it's good it's GOOD, but when it's a miss, whew, it's a MISSSSS. I usually go for the grilled wings and greek salad combo or the gyro and greek salad combo. I've also had the lamb chops. The last time I went, I got my wing/salad combo with a single lamb chop on the side. The lamb chop was seasoned and grilled to perfection. The combo, was not so great. The chicken was thrown on top of the salad which already had dressing on it, so by the time I got home with my food (about a 10 minute walk) my salad was super soggy, wilted. The wings were just not good. They weren't cooked thoroughly and had what looked like fake char marks. It was as if they were parbaked and then thrown on the grill for a few mins to char before packaging them. Visit before this, the wings were on point, and my salad wasn't wilted. So idk. When I ordered over the phone, the person taking my order seemed annoyed. But when I arrived, there were no issues. Order was ready, they took my payment, and were friendly. My fav is the chicken kebab meal which general comes with roasted veggies (zucchini, yellow squash, and res pepper), yellow rice, char grilled chicken chunks, pita, and tzatziki. I assumed that my taste buds were magically transported overseas, to where rustic and brilliant cooking methods never disappeared. It's light and succulent and really tastes like the countryside in Greece, I assume. If you had to describe a perfect bite of chicken, this would be it- the natural flavors are allowed to shine as if a Master Chef cooked it. Even the pita that accompanied the plate was a revelation. The ribs are also a delight. They're cooked with great seasonings, then the sweet sauce is added and then they're grilled even more. The result is EXACTLY what I think of when I dig into my childhood memories at cousins' homes. They are listed under "Delights" alongside mozzarella sticks, onion rings, etc. and served naked with sauce on the side. The chicken is fantastic, the sauce is "meh". In the attached pic of my delicious fried wings, I made a special request to have them tossed in sauce rather than served on side. I really think that if they better promote the wings, toss them correctly, and expand to include a variety of interesting sauces (range of spiciness, lemon pepper, teriyaki, jerk, etc.) they will have a line out the door. Here's my 3x3 review: 1) Any salad with grilled chicken: Yes; I'm starting this review with a salad, but the key words here are "with grilled chicken". The extra few bucks gets you delicious chunks of chicken like they were grilled and seasoned at home; nothing about it feels dry, tasteless, or artificial. It's a delicious option if you need to pick up lunch but still want to stay on that healthy track in this new year. 2) Chicken Souvlaki Platter This is the upgrade you need from the plain chicken, rice, and steamed vegetables that you eat at home. The same aforementioned delicious chunks of grilled chicken is served on top of a bed of rice with a side of Greek salad. If I had to pick one dish that represents this restaurant, it's this dish. 3) Lamb Gyro If you want to mix it up, you can't go wrong with the lamb gyro: flavorful strips of lamb mixed with lettuce, tomatoes, tzatziki sauce in a warm Greek pita. So sorry and disappointed to have to give this review, especially as I live in the neighborhood and had planned on frequenting this place, but this business doesn't have integrity. I ordered mozzarella sticks for pickup and it was only after I had gotten back home in the rain, unpacked my order, and bitten into them that I realized they were potato. And not just potato. Potato fried to look exactly like mozzarella sticks. I called them and the guy at the phone did apologize, though it seemed and clearly was disingenuous because he never told me when I was picking up my order and was perfectly happy taking my money regardless, and to add icing on the cake told me that he could only give me a refund if I physically went back to the shop. Mind you, I had paid with a credit card. So, in short, Chicken Feastin' tried to pass off a cheaper ingredient than what I paid for, and would only give me back my money if I physically walked blocks back in the rain after having gotten home and unfortunately for them realized the deception.
