We ordered take out and found that even after reheating that burgers were just okay. I enjoyed that they weren't too greasy but was missing the wow factor from the sauce. We also ordered the chicken tenders which were crunchy but a bit dry. Wish they made their own ranch and honey mustard which would've definitely made for a more memorable experience.

This is a new halal version of a chain burger spot in Bay Ridge. I tried their standard burger, and it turned out to be a pretty solid burger. It turned to be a smash burger, but if you have never had Slap Burger before, you probably would not known from the menu just calling it a "slap burger". The sauce is great, and they even give you extra on the side, which I really appreciated, especially since I did not order any sides. It tastes a bit like Chick fil A sauce, which most people can agree is pretty hard to beat. You also have the option to add grilled onions and mushrooms, and I would definitely recommend getting them. The burger looks a little messy at first glance, but the bread is soft and buttery and actually holds everything together really well. The dine in space is also very spacious, with booths and seating along the walls only. That layout was a nice touch in my opinion since it makes the space feel much more open instead of trying to cram in as much seating as possible.

Newly opened burger spot in Bay Ridge! The burger was juicy and flavorful. The fries were great and nicely fried. The mango lemonade was refreshing and accompanied the burger really well. I would probably skip on the Cole slaw next time. But would definitely be back to try other menu items.

The burger was good, I'd get it again, maybe a double next time. The fries were good and the cheese sauce was nostalgic. Minus one star for waiting 20 minutes. The bathroom was not very clean either.

Food and service was great . Definitely will be back and best believe the burger was tasteful and seasoned well as well as the Mac and cheese

A double slap burger with jalapeños

I ordered a double slap burger with jalapeños. The first bite was delish. Meat seems fresh. Tasty. I notice on the send bite, the meat isn't seasoned but that doesn't seem to be a problem once I taste the slap sauce. The bun is perfectly soft. Although a smash style, the burgers are missing the crispy edges. Still definitely worth it tho. In the future I'd order a burger there with extra sauce. I'd give this a 8 out of 10!

The star of the show were the sides though - the mac and cheese had a bit of spice to it and was slightly tomato based, and the mashed potato salad I LITERALLY wrote home about and told my mom and my aunt immediately, some of the best I've ever had. We got the brisket, the pulled pork, mac and cheese, potato salad, and cole slaw.

I arrived & joined the line at 12:05pm on a Sunday (5 mins after opening) and waited until 1:10pm before ordering. The line is deceiving since more than half of it was inside but I didn't realize how far it extends to the register where you actually order. There was around 40 people waiting when I got there...again, 5 minutes after opening. Anyway, I committed to the line and realize it's wildly inefficient. There's only 1-2 people taking orders and 2-4 different workers standing around or doing something occasionally. They really have to figure out how to reduce these inefficiencies, at least on weekends. Now for the food, it's definitely amazing for NYC standards but not quite as good as Texas, in my opinion. The Brisket had some tender & juicy bites which I loved but most of it was on the dry/lean side. I wish the worker asked us for our preference. The Pastrami Sandwich was a good try and only available on weekends. The meat is smoky and savory, and tangy from the brown deli mustard. I actually loved their Mac & Cheese! It was so creamy, cheesy, and satisfying. Even the Hometown Slaw was just right. Not too creamy, not too vinegary, and gave us a fresh bite to cut through all the savory meat. The worker was nice enough to give me some pickled onions which I absolutely love with my BBQ. I wish they had some more local beer options but the Stiegl Goldbrau Lager Pint was great to sip on as someone who likes light & refreshing beers. Despite the atrocious wait time, I'm really glad I got to try it!

My daughter checked it out but she didn't have socks to play so she stayed at the table with us. For appetizers, we ordered the dumplings (so cute and delicious), the pancakes and the pizza. The pizza was mediocre. For our entrees I had the shrimp avocado salad and my husband got the gosht burger. Our entrees were really tasty. We also got a side of fries for our daughter which we didn't really have to order. It is a little pricey but look at their location! When we got the bill we were charged $10 for the play place. I asked for it to be removed because my daughter didn't really play there and didn't have socks so our waitress removed it. It's not a big playground area and how long can kids really ply there if they're there for the restaurant? They charge $10 on weekday and $15 on weekends.

The burger was great though alittle small. I enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and the grilled chicken cutlets were soft. Overall, a decent meal. Definitely a nice place to patronize for a nice meal.

There are plentiful tables and even a downstairs special event space. Plus, the bathrooms are very clean so you know this is a quality place. Food: 5/5. Huge portions! And the shwarma was the best we have had in Brooklyn! Ambiance: 4/5. Clean and tidy, they have alot of Yemeni decorations and clay pots that add to the authentic vibe. The doors have a slight draft so it was a tad chilly but nothing too harsh. Overall a lovely spot Value: 5/5. Huge portions of quality food, great service and extra bread. We loved it!

The staff member who took my order warned me that it would be spicy, but I thought it was quite manageable (or perhaps she made it non-spicy) but overall I thought the flavor was quite bold and the bite-sized lamb made it easy to scoop up with the bread. The restaurant space is fairly large so I'd like to return for sit-down service and to try more Yemeni specialties.
