This place has really good bagels and coffee, but it's not good enough to get treated like dirt every time you go there. My most recent experience was the woman telling me that they don't toast bagels because she must have just cleaned the toaster or something like that (I have had toasted bagels there before.) From young to old, all the employees there are horribly rude and act like you are asking them to preform an extremely difficult task even when asking for a simple thing. I was there just after they opened at 6:00 a.m. on a Friday last month. The windows were all steamed up from the just-cooked bagels. They looked and smelled great. But they turned out to be nothing special. I think they could be better if they were cooked longer. The outside was too soft. I miss Elmora Bagels so much. They spoiled me for life. My parents have lived in Springfield for the last 18 years, me having lived here for 10 of those years. These are my favorite bagels I've had anywhere ever. Whenever my brother comes home from out of town we always get bagels from here on weekends. I get the feeling that this is the kind of place you don't dis or the locals come after you, but I found it pretty underwhelming. My office just moved to Springfield, so we wanted to try and find a good bagel place. While everyone was very nice there, it's definitely nothing to write home about. Maybe I went on the wrong day. They're honest about their lack of a grill, which is appreciated but definitely a bit of a turnoff because microwaved eggs are just not the same. I get it, it's not their business, though. So, it is what it is. But I didn't find the bagels to be that great and it's not because I don't understand how bagels should taste, I just thought it was underdone and lacking a good consistency and flavor. And I know it's a hot day, but everything was just... warm. The cream cheese was oozing off an untoasted bagel and tasted a little strange, the beverages weren't that cold. Kind of grossed me out. I'm glad everyone who has been going for years enjoys it so much, but I'm going to pass. read more

Pros: Tasty bagels, friendly staff, and of course kosher Cons; Their eggs are made in a microwave and is pretty disgusting, their hours are odd - i get there at 1.45 on a sunday afternoon and they are closing. oh and they were out of bagels. but if you get there in time and not add anything besides cream cheese your in for a very yummy bagel. read more

One of the few places left that still makes old school traditional bagels. If you've been raised on the giant soft globs of dough that pass for bagels in much of the US (looking at you Noah's and Einstein) then these will be a real treat. Even better: there are almost always hot bagels on weekend mornings. That is an amazing score and hot bagels can even be eaten plain-- they are that good. NB: this is not a sit-down bagel place. Really good bagel! You always get a hot bagel here! I buy a dozen and take them home then freeze them fresh for the week. When you get home you can cut it open and when you butter it the butter just melts..... Love that! Very gooey and moist Bagel every time! Love it! read more

I grew up in Brooklyn and was really reluctant to buy bagels in New Jersey. I was sooo thrilled to find really excellent bagels in NJ(my new adoptive home for 23 years). AMAZING STAFF AND BAGELS! Love this place, they make the best bagels out there. They are very friendly!! I recently moved about half hour away from Springfeild and I take the drive still every single weekend just to get bagels. I go there weekly. I have tried other places and one being Bagel Chateu and nothing beats Bagels Supreme. Bagel Chateu was disgusting. Their bagels were gross as well as their cream cheese. Bagels Supreme is a small quick place to pick up some food and be on your way. I love it!! Lets not forget about the staff, they are amazing. They are very polite and VERY friendly. This place makes a pretty good bagel. Bagels have nice form, even and generous seeding on the top, and are consistent in size, shape and topping coverage regardless of the type of bagel ordered. Bagel size is slightly below average. The cook on the bagel is neither well done nor rare, it is consistently in the medium range. Bagels present with a firm outer crust, giving way to the soft inside. Makes for a medium level resistance on the initial bight, which is good--sufficient to remind you that your not eating a marshmallow, yet not too firm to as to chip teeth. Pricing is average. Whitefish was underwhelming. For a good, consistent, warm, down-home bagel, I'd definitely recommend Bagel Supreme. read more

Unsanitary. The women never change their gloves. They touch the money, food...everything. Today the cook was in the back blowing his nose. He then answered the phone and handed it to the woman in the front, who used her gloved hand. He then went about his work in the back without washing. Unbelievably good bagels!!!! I went there everyday while I was in town for 2 weeks and it got better everyday. I recommend just letting the natural goodness of the bagel take over and go light on the spreads. These bagels are so good they barely need anything added. They bring them out fresh constantly and you'll never get an old bagel. My personal favorite is an everything bagel with butter. Can't say enough about how awesome this place is. read more

Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. Generously sized but not disgustingly so. The whole wheat everything is so good that despite my self-commitment to eat only half, I never do. Bagels are often right out of the oven, and always enjoyed by our kiddos. The weekday staff is warm and loving.
