Famous for their noodles! I enjoyed the beef galbi as well. The kimchi pancake was a bit underwhelming but not as spicy as i thought. This place only seats people after everyone arrives, no reso, do not accept cash, but the biggest shocker was they don't have bowls so you cannot share the soup broth, only had a little dish to use. Find it strange since noodle portion was pretty generous. Will be back though as I still enjoyed the food.

A small korean noodles house at the courtyard of crystal mall. We were lucky we didnt have to wait too long. Service was great but the tables are very close and packed. So a little crowded while eating We ordered the double decker noodles and the fire baby octopus noodles. We also ordered one of the noodles to be a combo with kimchi pancakes Both noodles were delicious and the portions were generous as well. There were 2 big pork bones and a lot of baby octopus with the noodles. the flavor of the sauce were great but i am unsure if they toned down the spiciness because both noodles were not as spicy as other korean noodles. But i love the chewiness of the noodles. I wish they could allow customers to choose the spicy level. The kimchi pancakes were flavorful tooand chewy. The menu isnt big but they have a number of popular items. I would love to visit again for their raw crabs side dish

Finally got to check out Korean Noodle House, a contemporary take on traditional kalguksu or knife cut noodles. When we arrived at 4:25, there was already a line beginning to form. The restaurant is quite small and the tables are placed close together to allow room in the middle for servers to walk around. Luckily, we were sat in the first seating. The wooden chairs were a bit uncomfortable, but it was nice that there was a hidden cubby underneath for people to put coats and bags. We ordered the top 2 most popular dishes and the kimchi pancake. The menu is quite simple with limited options, which works well for my decision paralysis. Everything arrived quite quickly. We were served side dishes as well - the fresh kimchi was spicy and crunchy! We started with the kimchi pancake. It was chewy with a hint of spice. I really liked the sauce that came with it - it was sweet and sour and loaded with garlic and chives. When the double decker arrived, I instantly knew why it was called the double decker. 2 large pieces of pork bone stacked on top of each other and ready to be devoured. I opted for the chicken ginseng soup, which looked a lot more ordinary. However, the soup was hearty and packed with flavour. The chicken was a bit dry, but after soaking in the soup for a while, it started tasting better. Value is quite good as each bowl of soup is around $20-$22 but is guaranteed to make you full. I couldn't finish my soup and had to bring it to go. However, I would only come if I didn't have to line up.

Food was good and portion was huge. I had the pork bone broth noodle and it was delicious. It came with a huge pork bone and they give you a horseradish sauce to dip the meat in. Also ordered the kimchi pancake and it was really good.

Waiting time: 3.5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 ‍Service: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Pricing: 3/5 Overall: Came here with a friend with no expectations. We're big fans of Kang's Kitchen in Coquitlam but had heard mixed reviews about this spot. Luckily, the line wasn't long and we got seated right when they opened. The tables are pretty tight, and they don't provide sharing bowls, so we made do with the small plates they gave us. The broths were okay - a bit bland and nothing too special. We were most excited for the noodles, but they were unfortunately overcooked. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience considering the hype. I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for a table here.

There was a lineup on a Monday night, but thank goodness we only had to wait for 15 minutes or so. Their menu is pretty small, price is fair. My husband ordered the ginseng chicken noodle (one of the few non-spicy noodle dish) and I ordered the double decker, and add galbi to make a combo. Galbi tasted well marinated, my double decker noodle is huge. Lots of pork meat & bone, and had to ask my husband to finish some for me. The chicken noodle tastes great, my hubs liked it. I just wish the noodle in my double decker is a tad chewier. Tables are super close together, so you don't sit very comfortably, but I do appreciate they have a cubby hole underneath chair for you to put jacket and bag. I'd come back for the food again, if lineup remains short.

We went at 5pm on Sunday and were lucky to be seated right away. The food came pretty quickly. Service is good. Staff were attentive. Kimichi and marinated radish were refilled. Beef short ribs were super tender. The noodles are great. Both ginseng chicken and the double decker were good!

Kalguksu (Korean hand pulled noodles) is one of my favorite Korean dishes, so when I heard that a celebrity Korean chef had opened a Kalguksu restaurant here, I had to try it out. I tried to get a seat right at opening during the beginning of their soft launch for dinner but the tables were all sold out. Now a month later, they've got rid of their ticketing system and it's first come first served. We arrived at 5:30pm and waited in line for about an hour on a Friday. The interior is very small and the spacing is very tight. We ordered the combo that includes two noodle bowls and a plate of galbi. We chose the gamjatang (pork-bone soup) and ginseng chicken noodles. The broth for the gamjatang was Korean level spicy, which is equivalent to a medium-hot spice level here. The flavor for the chicken soup was very light and tasty. We also ordered the potato pancake with fire grilled cheese on top which was really delicious and crispy. The galbi was also thick and had good flavor as well. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was that the noodles were pretty soft and felt pretty soggy compared to other kalguksu places I've been to which had chewy and bouncier noodles. Not sure if it's customizable for next time but I'll be sure to try it again sometime!

So much food! The double-decker comes with so much meat, definitely worth a price. The noodles are good, and the broth is not very rich, it is very clean and mild. It does come with a mustard dipping sauce for the meat. Highly recommend making it a combo and adding the kimchi jeon. The jeon is made with some sort of tapioca flour, which makes it a little more chewy but the crisp is there. The service was pretty quick for helpful and busy it is. Highly recommend getting there AT LEAST 30 minutes before they open in order to get seating. There's only like seven tables. Very cute cozy spot. Located in Crystal Mall, and parking was free in the garage. It is located in the inner circle near the fountain if you have a hard time finding it!

Heard there was a new Korean noodle house in Burnaby a while back and been wanting to try it for a while. In hopes that the line up died down I made an attempt to try then out for a later Saturday lunch. Upon arriving I was wrong, the line up was surprisingly still going stong after a few months of opening! I arrived around 1:15 pm and waited for about 20-30 mins with about 6-7 groups before me.The restaurant takes people in up to the last closing hour. The restaurant is relatively small with tight fit tables. I would not recommend for larger groups. We just had two people for our table and we sate closely right beside next to a table of two as well. For food we ordered the combo 2 that includes 2 noodles of your choice and galbi. For the bodies we ordered the Double Decker (pork bone broth noodles) and the Very Shroomy Creamy (creamy perilla and mushroom soup. The Double Decker had a very generous portion of pork bone in the noodle and flavor was bold kimchi flavors with a good kick. The Very Shroomy Creamy was an interesting take on noodle soup. It wasn't something I had before where it included some fun chewy pieces of dough in the noodle too. I did find broth of the Very Shroomy Creamy very thick though maybe a bit too thick for a noodle soup and coup have had a bit more flavor to it. The noodles wasn't any thing extra special and I would have thought it could or a bit better -could be more bouncer like other Korean restaurants I have tried. The Galbi was great -tender with good flavour and think that was my favorite dish out of them all. The rest also offers two sides along with your meal - yellow pickled radish and kimchi cabbage. Over a niceoption to try but probably won't be revisiting.

I visited a month after they soft opened and it was a wild ride. I knew there would be a line so we went right when they opened at 11:30am and got a waitlist number. There were very limited waitlist numbers they are giving out as they only have 10 tables. I waited for 2 hours to be seated Numbers are given out first come first served once they're all distributed they're done. Time they started to give out numbers lunch - 11:15am dinner - 4:15pm Chicky Chicky Ginseng Lowkey thought it would be bland but it's not. It's super hearty and packed with chicken, also love how they handmade their own noodles which are very chewy and thick. Double Decker The portion of pork is insane, there are two whole racks of pork on top and it's a good level of spice that i'm not dying on it. It would be good to have it on a cold rainy day. Verdict: The portion and seasoning is perfect but I would not wait for another two hours for that. I'll go when the hype dies down. Also I heard they changed the waitlist system so you'd have to physically wait in line instead of getting a number so you can't even walk around while you wait.

They're having a soft launch and had to try this noodle restaurant after seeing it on instagram. Noting the popularity, we showed up early and were given a number to come back an hour later. When we finally entered the 40+ seat restaurant, the place was buzzing with activity. The menu wasn't big but it had what we came for. We chose the Combo for 2 which came with 2 noodles and Calbi ribs. Since their signature noodle is the Double Decker (spicy pork bone noodle) ... we had to get that. The noodles and ribs were delicious. It's been a few days since we were there and I can't wait to return.

Delicious broth! Pork double decker was lovely and hearty. I'm glad I ordered mine mild spicy because it does have a kick of spice. Such a cute restaurant in Crystal Mall - Burnaby. Great service!

I was…read morepleasantly surprised to discover that Soju is quite spacious inside and that it actually has a cozy ambiance for happy hour drinks. Service was pretty quick when I visited, wasn't too busy with about three other tables of diners. Food-wise: their prices and portions are quite reasonable but I have yet to discover my favorite menu item or their best dishes as taste for bulgogi was just okay. Overall, their weekday lunch special is good value. Though their food on my first visit wasn't especially memorable, their spacious interior + modern ambience + efficient service + good value and free parking brings them up from 3.5 stars to a 4 stars rating since this is a place I would definitely consider visiting again to try other dishes. And I am hopeful about finding items to my liking because they offer a fairly diverse food and drinks menu.

It's simply decorated with Soju bottles or posters of Korean pop stars or actors. Love the casual and laid back vibe! There is a bell on the table if you need attention from the servers, and they are usually pretty efficient and fast when it is rung. We saw that there was a $9.99 combo deal and everyone at our table was shocked. We all ordered that. The combo comes with your choice of a noodle dish (Jajangmyeon or Black Bean noodles, Korean udon, or Spicy Cold noodles) and a Beef Bulgogi on the side. I ordered the Jajangmyeon with the Beef Bulgogi and it was great! I enjoyed the nice chew from the noodles and the Black Bean sauce was flavoured well. I was pleased to find chunks of pork in the noodles also. The Beef Bulgogi was a little watery, but tasted sweet and tender. All that food for $9.99. That's unheard of in this economy and in these times! Amazing. We'll definitely return as we saw other great deals on the menu also!

I dont really like jambong, so I'm super glad 88 noodle house lets you choose 2 jjajangmyeon! Perfect combo. For the meat dish, you can get tangsuyuk or gganpunggi. We chose the gganpunggi (sweet chili chicken). Jjajangmyeon was ok. Nothing too special about it. Good portions. The gganpunggi was also a good portion! However, I found that it was mostly batter, and since they use a mix of tapioca starch and other as breading, it gets jello-y when not completely cooked. The flavor was really good, but I was disappointed with the batter to chicken ratio. I will continue my search for this type of combo!

We always get the black bean noodles. Flavour is consistent, tasty, and it comes out quick and hot from the kitchen. We rotate between the sweet chili chicken and the sweet and sour pork. This time we got the sweet chili chicken. Flavour is good and comes piping hot and crispy. However, I did find the breading a bit heavy and there is a lot of fat in the layers. Same goes for the sweet and sour pork. I love their coating and the flavour is great, but sometimes I just get a coated piece of fat which is a bit off-putting. We also like the japchae, but find it has a bit too much onion for us. Ok cold nights we like to get the 88 noodle soup. Hot, peppery, slightly spicy. Goes well with the pickles they give you. Service is always quick and polite. No issues there. And the seating is spacious with lots of booth seating.
