So it was my first time trying some KBBQ and this location was selected by the group so was coming into it brand new. Inside decor definitely passed the vibe check, and it was cozy too which I think compared to other KBBQ places that are crowded I actually enjoyed. The AYCE menu was divided into 3 Categories (S,A,B) with each tier having more options. So we went B which in my opinion if you want the typical cuts and what you expect in KBBQ then that'll do. But you don't care bout the vibe, how's the food? Well I don't think the food quality was bad at all, but it wasn't omg I have to spread the good word to everyone I know to try this place. The cuts in terms of quantity was plenty but some of the quality was hit or miss for me. Some cuts was hard to distinguish between the others in terms of flavor/umami. Now I think a little responsibility falls to the grill master of our table but still. The speed once we placed our orders was fine but it felt well understaffed as it seemed like one waitress was taking care of 5 tables plus cleaning/clearing plate duties. I felt like a bother when I had to flag her down to order our next order since we were kind of waiting for like 10 mins after finishing our rounds. All in all, I think there's a lot of room for improvement for this location and would definitely come back if some of the core issues were addressed. But I think in terms of KBBQ places it really rides middle of the road.

We chose menu A $37.95 per person

I wanted to go to our go to Korea BBQ by our area but it was swamped. The wait was 35 minutes and my other half didn't want to wait. So we decided instead of waiting we would go to Korea House which the drive wasn't to far. I love the old school places but for sure reason I wasn't as happy about this place. Yes, it is all you can eat but the selection wasn't like our usual place. I was missing my oyster mushrooms and hot pot. Of course service was great but I wasn't feeling the food at the time. I think I will stick with our to go spot when craving Korea BBQ.

Given the abundant options of KBBQ throughout Houston now, it may seem inconceivable that the city wasn't well equipped for the demand even a decade ago. Korea House gets lots of pioneering credit for being among the first to adopt this format and even after all of these years is still a destination for many carnivores. I realize it's Spring Branch (#1), but I'm pleased to see that Korea House is still as Korean as ever. Most of the staff is able to converse in Korean (#2) and the old school decor is really heightened with the traditional decor pieces and antique figurines. I also really appreciate how group friendly every table is and the variety of multiple private rooms in the dining area. The format for the AYCE is divided by three separate menus: S - $42.95 for adults, $34.95 for children (4-7) A - $37.95 for adults, $29.95 for children (4-7) B - $32.95 for adults, $25.95 for children (4-7) All menus allow for different cuts of bulgogi, pork belly, grilled chicken, and a variety of non-BBQ items such as Korean fried chicken, katsu, Korean hot dogs, chicken tenders, kimchi bulgolgi fries, with a choice of kimbap or Korean fried rice, and a choice of two picks of soybean jiggae, soondubu, or ramyun. Menu A also has additional choices such as marinated beef short rib (kalbi), marinated sirloin, marinated, and beef bulgogi. The most premium menu, S, has ribeye steak, both marinated and unmarinated beef short rib, along with beef tongue, pork jowl, shrimp, spicy squid, more fried chicken like soy garlic and mozzadogs. Personally, I think A is the best of the three options. Kalbi is an essential add-on for the ideal KBBQ experience, but I do love the ribeye options for Menu S. If one goes for the latter, I'd recommend getting at least 4 rounds of ribeye alone to make up the difference. The meat cuts overall are decent and I'd give their beef belly, pork jowl, bulgogi, and shoulder steak as my go-to meats. I would have passed on the kimbap, fish katsu, and most of the seafood. I love the grills and appreciate that the ventilation was fairly solid. I do love that they utilize the call buttons at each table since the service would have been even slower if my group didn't continually press it to have them clear plates, add water, add sauces, or get napkins. I think the key to success here is to take it slow and come ready to eat. There was a moment where my group and I ordered too much too quickly and there was no room left on the table. Thankfully grills were changed out and occasionally the waitresses would help with cutting and cooking the meats. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. While I don't think it's incredible food, I do appreciate the variety of AYCE foods offered, the ambiance / feast-worthy atmosphere and the actual BBQ equipment is definitely on par. There are areas of improvement needed, but it won't stop me from making this a regular stop on my gluttonous rotation. __________ (#1) Houston's KoreaTown. (#2) Not applicable to a lot of Korean spots outside of the neighborhood.

Leftover meats that they claim we didn't finish that they have to charge us extra

Do not go here!!!!!!!!! Here's my story !!! I went there on Monday 3/2/26. I'm not saying we didn't waste any food , I know we did with few pieces of the meat but let's be honest which AYCE you go to that we don't order something we never have before in my case ( beef intestine and tripe ) we place a order of each to try it out and we find out that's not something we like and we didn't finish the rest as you can see in the picture probably like 3-4 pieces of each . Personally I think it's responsible. The server we have was have a bad day or something he's like you have to finish everything we order if not we gonna be charge extra not to say I never seen the sign like that in other ayce place but as long as the waste is reasonable, there won't be any charge like that actually being charged to any of the clients. But idk what this server of the place is thinking saying that we wasted too much that we have to pay extra money . Don't waste your money or time to go here I will definitely put 0 stars if there's a option for it

I haven't been here in a while, but I don't remember it being this good! Came here after hanging out with some friends and we were definitely starving! First impressions: there's lots of parking and I really like the look of the place and the decorations. It feels very home-y. Service: Servers were great and helped our big party very well! Food was delivered in a fast pace and waters were refilled appropriately. Food: I'm always a big pork belly person, and it was so good here! Actually, everything was good here. The beef belly, pork belly, brisket and the bulgogi are all so good. Definitely will be coming here again and will recommend to others!

Is a good AYCE Korean bbq place, they have 3 different menus and each of them has different prices, the more you pay the more meat options you get, but even if you get the cheapest menu the food taste good! Love this place from the inside We went during lunch time so it was cheaper, food was amazing service was okay; but we would still definitely be back!

I've been here many times it's some of the best food i have ever eaten very good service it's not very loud and you have a good amount of privacy

    Tania M.

So I've been debating on posting. Service here is good they are responsive and get you settled right away. The bon chon is good and the food is decent for the price. The place is decorated beautifully and makes you feel like you're in another country. The issue was we had visiting critters as we finished our food to our table. Granted with all the wood structures things can happen. But it needs some attention

I've eaten here multiple times, mostly for business lunches, and each visit has been great. Korea House offers all you can eat Korean BBQ where you grill your own food in the center of the table, and as a somewhat outsider to the whole thing, I've always found Korea House accommodating, clean, and most importantly, tasty. They offer 3 tiers of all you can eat (at least that's my lunch experience) each with a fixed price. Even if you select the cheapest option, you'll leave absolutely stuffed and happy. The portions and sides included are massive. Grab some friends and give it a try.

Came by for weekday lunch and got their spicy bulgogi lunch special. The bulgogi was flavorful and spicy. They had a good variety of sides too. There's better Korean spots in Houston, but this wasn't bad!

    Christopher C.

It's a fine establishment with consistent food for ayce. The chadol (차돌백이) is light and cooks great, the pork belly (삼겹살) is thin and cooks well! The pork bulgogi (돼지 불고기) is a bit heavier, but still holds great flavor and the tonkatsu (돈까스) is standard and filling. I love the service (very sweet) and for ~$36 you really cannot beat it. Another spot in the books for my father and I! Cheers!

I came here for the first time! I had a hot bowl of bibimpa with vegetarian style! It was good but I can say that they can put more flavors by putting mushroom seasoning or even more of soy sauce or salt. I felt a bit of seasoning less. So my suggestion is that put mushroom seasonings or soy sauce. I enjoyed the variety of side dishes as well! That's the features of Korean restaurant for sure! Toward the end, we also ordered a bowl of cold noodles (nyengmyong? Idk spelling) it was sooooo good! I love the flavors , texture and subtle tartness and all! Because of that my rating bumped up to 5 stars from 4 stars!! Keep up the good work and make vegetarian options more flourish as well! :) Cheers

Wow... just WOW. I've been here before and always had a great experience. It's been about 2-3 years since I've been back, but decided to come with my boyfriend to try it out again. We ended up getting one of the meal sets (about $35 per person) and it was SO good. I don't think there was a single side dish we didn't like -- we loved every side dish there! In addition, Giheung was so amazing! She came by very often to make sure we were doing well and even made some wraps for us; it reminded me of my mom and grandma back home feeding me, got me a little homesick. Of course, ALL of their servers were amazing as well :) On top of that, my boyfriend got their honey beer which was also SOOOO good. Overall, such an amazing experience. It's hard to find many restaurants that has both amazing food and service, but THIS definitely hits all the spots. 10/10, definitely will be back!

This was the best meal I had my entire weekend! The place had ample parking. There was a solid staff cleaning, and the place was spotless. The front desk staff was helpful and patient with newbies, recommending menu items and accompaniments from the bar nearby. I had the chorizo breakfast taco and the pulled pork hash taco - I was delighted to find out that "hash" meant a delicious hash brown inside the taco. The egg was creamy and perfect inside a taco, the cheese was good, the meat was amazing. I don't think it's possible for me to be happier with roughly $9 in breakfast food. I will make it a point, even if it's not on my way, to visit Pit Room every time I'm in the Houston area going forward. It is a destination restaurant, in my opinion!

My wife and I had had a great experience at the Pit Room previously, so brought the rest of my family here to experience. I found the food to continue to be really good, especially the fatty brisket. Stopped by around 11 am, and there was still parking in the dedicated surface lot next to the building. The smell of bbq wasn't as prevalent as last time. Once walking in, you stand in line to first order your meat...which is immediately sliced in front of you. You then move further along to ask for your sides, including as many slices of plain white bread as you want. My daughter treated us this time, so didn't record prices, but thought it was reasonable. I liked the sliced brisket a lot, along with the side of elote corn and mac n cheese. The free toppings bar had the various pickled vegetables that really cut through the fattiness of the meat. Drinks were all self serve, with a water station and soda fountain. Probably ordered a bit less than expected for 4 people, but was happy that there were no left overs, and left not completely stuffed, since we had a long day ahead of us. By the time we left a little after noon, there was both a wait for tables and parking. We had come at the right time.

I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well. The beef rib: STELLAR. This was outstanding with its flavorful bark and an impossibly tender texture that truly melts in your mouth, unlike any other beef rib I've ever had. Easily the very best beef rib, without a doubt. The brisket was delicious, as well: tender and flavorful. The sausage was nothing special... on par with sausage elsewhere, as was the pork. As for the sides, I've never been a fan of beans, but since the Michelin review specifically mentioned them, I gave them a try. I'm a fan! I would definitely order these again. Their smokiness is gently tamed by a touch of sweetness. The rest? Very average. The mac and cheese tasted like the stuff I had in my elementary school cafeteria - very un-special. The potato salad was salty and was missing any semblance of potato chunks. The texture was oddly like lumpy mashed potatoes. But the other surprise for me: the cobbler. This was simply and divinely perfect with crisp, sweet buttery crumble. A wonderful way to end a hearty meal. I'm so glad I ordered our food online for pickup. When I arrived at 1pm, the line was wrapped around the building. Pickup was very easy: I texted them when I arrived, and they replied when they were ready for me to go in and retrieve it. But even if there wasn't a line, I would never eat there: the restaurant is too divey for me: very rustic, picnic-like feel both inside and out, and it was uncomfortably warm and humid (again, inside and out.) The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Glad i tried it, and when i get a hankering for a good beef rib, this is definitely where I'll be getting it!

I ordered the ribs in the jalapeño cheddar sausage, but got the brisket with sausage.. very happy they mixed that one up because the brisket was extremely juicy tender and had a great flavor on that bark. They did it perfect! The jalapeño sausage was a little dryer that I like it to be especially for having cheese in there. Still ate it and it was great.! So good I forgot to take a picture We'll definitely be going back to this place!

We ordered sliced brisket with mac n cheese, coleslaw, chopped brisket sandwich, and a pecan pie. The sliced brisket was so juicy and tender with so much charred flavor. The meat was cooked to perfection and got me wanting more! The mac and cheese wasn't too overwhelming and actually complemented the meat. As for the brisket sandwich, I thought it was good in terms of the meat, however, I must say it reminded me of sloppy joes too much. If I had to choose, I prefer getting the brisket sliced over chopped. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh and not too overwhelming with the mayo, which I love. The ratio of cabbages and carrots were evenly distributed. Lastly, the pecan pie was not too sweet and really soft yet crunchy. Overall, I would love to come here again, it was honestly one of the best!

The brisket itself was good, but next time I'd definitely request lean meat. The jalapeño sausage was the standout for me -- really flavorful and highly recommended. The cornbread and potato salad were both solid sides and complemented the meal well. The biggest downside was the BBQ sauce selection. The sauces leaned way too sweet for my taste. I tried the coffee bourbon sauce and personally did not like it at all. Overall, some really good food items, but the sauces were a miss for me.
