We purchased about 150.00 of fresh water fish about 3 months ago, when I cleaned up my tanks. Their fish are very hardy and well quarantined when they obtain them from their suppliers. We did not lose one single fish in the acclimating and currently have 100% at present. The algae eaters we purchased have grown substantially abd are active and entertaining! We are planning to return for a purchase of Albino Corey-cats soon. They also have an excellent variety of plants and supplies. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Their store was busy on a Saturday, and we still had a pleasant experience. Their prices are reasonable as well in comparison to local Pet Stores. I checked out two other Pet stores in our area, and one had all their stock on quarantine due to an ich outbreak that came with a shipment, and the other had quite a few dead fish laying or floating in their tanks. I did not purchase from either and began looking for other options. Google helped me find Kona Reef and are thankful we found them! I recommend them highly! read more

Ignore the bad reviews, they are FALSE information. I went here and it was a FREE aquarium. It was AMAZEBALLS and smelled SO GOOD. I wanted to lick the water :))))))) yeah. It super fun to watch the snails climb up the sides of the tank and fall to the bottom. They were so cool! Ya. read more

This place was amazing. When the local chain pets store didn't have the fish I was looking for in stock, they pointed me to this local gem. Walking in feels like you're in an aquarium; truly beautiful. Abby helped my daughter and I find the perfect fish. She was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. We have always had great experiences at Kona Reef. We've been to both of their locations and have never had any problems with any fish we've bought. They have freshwater and saltwater fish. All tanks and fish have always looked healthy and super well maintained. Customer service is always friendly and knowledgeable as well! Great local fish store. read more

Thank goodness the owner keeps the place stocked with nice fish if it weren't for that I wouldn't spend one dime here based off the customer service, slow and no initiative to take care of customer , they pretend to not see you and go about whatever they are doing which don't seem like much . read more

DO NOT buy your fish here, there is copious amount of dead fish in the tanks, and many more that are clearly sick and being eaten alive by parasites. No individual filtration amongst the tanks, recipe for disaster. read more

I bought 2 guppies and a betta. Added the 2 guppies to my existing tank with my original 3 guppies. In a 10 gallon tank. Betta went in his own 3.5 gallon tank. Next day 1 new guppy was dead. 1 week later the next new guppy was dead. Another week later 1 of my original guppies died, and the betta died. Another week and another of my original guppies died. I checked my water in both tanks and it was fine. Only conclusion is their fish have diseases and die. They also kill off your healthy and happy fish. They have no warranty period at all so there is no recourse. Would not recommend at all. read more
