Ordered in a HiFin and Candy Pistol Shrimp pair

Everyone is a pleasure to talk to and actually knowledgeable in the hobby which is uncommon. I'm a saltwater guy and they have a great selection of corals as well as fish. If they don't have what you need you can order something in and they will likely be able to get it. I've been here three times and everything is coming healthy and happy, will definitely keep coming back!

Today was my first visit and the store is beautiful...and I did buy a few plants that look great & so far seem healthy. But, I also got a Dwarf African Frog, having lost my 6 year old frog 2 days ago. The frog was floating on top of the water in the store, but the sales rep said they do that, and he was fine. He stayed on top of the water in the bag. He stayed on top of the water while acclimating, he stayed on top of the water in the tank...just floating, not moving. I made up a hospital tank to see if he might be a little stressed, or overwhelmed...usually they hide, but not this one. It's 12:30am & I'm watching him die. Crappy week for frogs over here.

This aquarium is so much fun and full of fish to see. I especially loved the pond of Kai fish because it was so beautiful! I gave it 4 stars because many of the items in the store are expensive.

I absolutely love this fish store, although it's much more than a fish store. There's really no place like it in the valley and I hope it sticks around forever. I've been going here since I was a kid. Fresh water selection is amazing as is the salt water selection. I'm an aquarium enthusiast and rely on this place to keep my tanks stocked with the best quality fish around.

I have nothing but great things to say about Ocean Floor. They have EVERYTHING you need regarding the aquarium hobby. You name it, they probably have it! Aside from its amazing inventory, all the staff that I've had the pleasure of interacting with have been extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate about aquatics. 5 stars hands down

This is the largest aquarium store I've ever been to. They have a lot of common fish in stock as well as some less common fish and eels. Every single betta has a mini tank with a filter which is nice to see. They have a used goods section which sells items that are used or closer to expiration date at a reduced price. One thing that disappoints me is their husbandry of axolotls. They're kept together and not separately and many of them had missing legs, arms, and or gills. That can be pretty stressful for the axolotls so I was disappointed.

This is always a fun ace to go. I am in the market for a salt rank so I went to see what's happening here. The staff love what they do and are really up to speed with the fish and water and tanks. There is a lot to owning a salt rank and this team can get you running and confident in yourself to manage your own tank.

I've been here about five times over the years and my kids never get sick of it. From exploring a giant human body and sliding down a digestive track to experiencing hurricane winds with fake water bursts, this museum is pretty awesome. They also offer various season exhibits that cost extra as well as free science demonstrations throughout the day that are interactive, educational and pretty cool. While pricy, it's totally worth it in my opinion - especially if you plan to spend the whole day here!

As most have said, half the stations didn't work and/or there was zero context about... what the point of it was? So disheartening. This would be expected in a small town but in PHOENIX?! The Pompeii exhibit was okay. Not enough to redeem the poor experience other wise. At the end there's a grand finale video, unfortunately there were technical difficulties and it would t play. I really felt for the gal who was acting as host of that section. People were pretty grumpy and couldn't hear her. The music was too loud and overpowered her mic. I'll be reaching out for a refund. I likely won't get it. But I can't believe we spent just shy of $100 and it was such a WASTE of time and money.

I am capable of caring…read morefor my tanks, I CHOSE to have someone care for them, poor decision obvioulsy... why would it be my neglience? You are correct on one comment, yes I waited too long to seek intervention... firing Don! Unfortunately I listened to him BS me in that he had no idea why my fish were dying... he lied about doing water changes! IT'S a fact... NOT "natural occurances" my tanks were over a year old... maybe your expensive fish are dying and hes feeding you that... To say "an individual who had little impact on my tank"? sooo what exactly was I paying him for?? advise? consolement when my fish were dying daily? He was the DIRECT impact on my tanks, as he was the one caring for them... not INDIRECT. Amazing with my lack of ability and interest and my fish and corals are still alive since Ive been maintaining my own tanks! Read the whole review, and dont go blaming the victim! I took my ownership in that I waited too long to intervene on poor service. None the less it was poor service FOR ME.

I have been working with Don from Crystal Coves Aquariums for 5 or 6 months now. I have probably…read morespent more time with him on the phone and texting than in person to be perfectly honest, which is great for someone like me who is just starting out in the saltwater reef aquarium hobby and needs the help and advice. I have a lot to learn and Don has been doing anything and everything related to aquariums (both freshwater and salt) for 20+ years. He really does know what he is talking about and he really does care about his clients. Don helped me plan and purchase all of my current tank inhabitants and took the time to look at multiple examples of each type of fish I wanted prior to picking one to purchase (he didn't want to get me a Hippo Tang, he wanted to get me a GREAT Hippo Tang). He even told me not to buy corals that I wanted because he knew that I would end up waisting my money purchasing various corals for a new aquarium that was not yet established. Something I now can appreciate. I lost a fish that was one of the first to go into my new tank and called Don to talk about it right away. He couldn't believe that I lost it and called his other clients who had recently purchased fish from the same store (by Don himself) to see if they were experiencing anything similar to me. They were not, and it turned out to be a error on MY part by letting my tank temperature get too high without intervention. Lesson learned, check your thermometer and check often in new aquariums especially in the summer in Phoenix. Don can help with all aspects of your aquarium. Anything from purchasing equipment and livestock, stocking suggestions, algae identification and treatment, tank maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, he also has family that does custom stands and canopies/hoods if you need one. All in all, I would recommend Don and his services to anyone in the valley looking for help with their aquarium of any type. He will give you straight forward answers that lead to good results for your system. Don't listen to the one person complaining about his service on this page. She clearly has little interest in her part in owning an aquarium, and is trying to blame natural aquarium occurrences or her own negligence on an individual who had little impact on her system. She clearly waited too long to seek intervention and is now facing the impact of such poor decisions. Try Don and you wont be disappointed!

My fiancé had a ranch about 20 years ago and used to go to Pratt's all the time to buy animals for his ranch and sell his babies to Pratt's. There was a good old time family vibe then. They educated people about the animals they purchased and were very helpful. Now, my fiancé and I have a ranch together and we were starting from scratch. We went to Pratt's to get the same camaraderie and care that he had from Pratt's in the past. But we had found out the hard way that it is absolutely nothing like it used to be! Their animals are always sick and stressed and in bad living conditions. All of the chickens we have purchased from there were sick with a very contagious virus. They have respiratory distress and very lethargic and their eyes swell up and fill with puss. We gave them antibiotics but that did not help them. Every single chicken we bought from there had died. And the worst part is it spreads to the rest of our flock. Once the flock is infected you cannot get rid of it. U literally have to start fresh with healthy chickens. My fiancé had told Oscar the manager about this issue. At first he was understanding and willing to replace the chickens. Once we sent him pictures of the birds that perished he changed his tone and said "Why are you the only ones with birds dying?" We have stopped buying chickens from there but have continued to buy feed from there. We can't help but to go and look at all the animals and unfortunately they are always in poor living conditions and clearly very sick and even dead birds in the cages. The staff they have there at this point are very unhelpful and uneducated about the product they sell and uneducated about the animals they sell! We ask them a question about an animal and they look at us like we have a third eye growing out of our heads! They walk away without answering our questions or even getting our feed for us. We are out so much money from what we have bought from there and all the loss we have had from the sick chickens infecting the rest of our flock and they died. We had bought a female goat that was supposedly pregnant and they just wanted to get rid of her before she gave birth... well she wasn't pregnant. Then We had bought another female goat from them against our better judgment because she looked miserable and we wanted a companion for our first goat but She was "Not for sale" due to being sick... We said we want her to give her a fighting chance. She coughs and sneezes and has discharge from her lady parts. Pratt's just does not care about the health and well being of their animals! We will never purchase any animals from them again!! It's such a shame that these animals have to suffer!!
