You guys, I just had the coolest experience using the Amazon Return desk at the front of Kohls. I accidentally ordered a laptop case that was too small via Amazon.com I submitted my request for a return through Amazon.com and one of the options was to return my item to the Valencia Kohls and they would package and ship it back to Amazon - for me. Really? Awesome! I really wasn't looking forward to going out and finding the proper packaging to ship the item back or print out the shipping label on my always-on-the-fritz home printer. When I saw I could return the laptop case I purchased through Amazon at Kohls without hassle, I was so relieved. Amazon sent me a QR code via email to have scanned at the Amazon desk. The order of events that took place in under 5 minutes: 1. Walked In with my laptop case from Amazon. 2. Presented QR Code on phone to associate working the desk. 3. Magic Printer printed return labels. 4. Proof of return with tracking number handed to me, and boom - I'm done. That's it. PLUS - I was given a 25% off coupon to use within the next 7 days. This was the worst experience I've ever had. They did not have the item in store so they told me to order it online since customer service cannot do it themselves. They said it takes 5-7 business days. It has now been 12 days and the tracking says "pending" and the item is still in SC. I spoke with an agent and supervisor and they kept telling me to wait until tomorrow to see if it arrives, but it would be impossible. Furthermore, they would not send me the information of the shipping where it says the arrival date is tomorrow. They were not helpful at all. Very unreliable and very frustrating to have a conversation with an agent who does not understand your circumstances and is not empathetic. They provided no solutions and only made it more difficult. I'm not a regular Kohls shopper and probably bought things here twice in the last 2 years. And today is my third visit and to be honest it's mainly because I had a return for Amazon purchase and only returning it through Kohls would be free shipping. The return counter is clear marked and designated in the front, once they scan the label you get a tracking number and a 25% off coupon your purchase in store. So not a bad deal right? Other than I really don't have anything to buy from a store like this. And I just bought 2 kids books that net proceeds go to charity and at prices that rival Amazon. I am still shocked and very offended by one of the cashiers at this location. When my bf and I were waiting in a line to purchase, I saw a cashier helped a customer by scanning one of coupons on the flyers. As we walked up to the same cashier, she only greeted my bf. I didn't care much. She just scanned stuffs we got and told my bf the total amount, I just pointed out the flyer and asked if we can get some discount. She didn't say a word and scanned coupon codes with a cold face. As we paid and said bye to her, she only looked at my bf and said bye. She didn't even see me, I was right in front of her. Why do I feel offended? I am a Asian and my Bf is white. She gave me a cold look when we walked up to her at first, whole time we were there, she didn't say a word to me nor looked at me. And ignoring me when I said "Bye, have a nice day." to her face!!!! Does she hate asians?!? Or hate interracial dating?!? I just felt so offended by that freaking racist cashier. I went in today to return some shoes and everyone in the store was sick the people at the return desk were sick the guy checking me out of the front was so sick he actually coughed on my face.... Oh! What a difference a 10 minute drive can make. The Golden Valley location is much better than the Valencia store. Golden Valley is a much cleaner store with friendlier staff. No matter what time I come here, whether it's first thing in the morning, midday, or evening, the store is a MESS. Clothes on the floor or barely on a hanger. Items not in the correct location. Displays that look haphazardly put together. Empty racks taking up floor space. It doesn't seem like management or staff care about this store. The staff here is not friendly. Tonight I witnessed an employee (possibly a manager) acting very unprofessionally. (I wish I caught her name, but she had the vibe of a manager). A customer asked her if they had a particular shoe in stock. Apparently it wasn't her department or job to help this customer, so she hollers loudly "THIS LADY NEEDS HELP FINDING A SHOE AND THERE NEEDS TO BE SOMEONE IN THE SHOE DEPARTMENT AT ALL TIMES!" Talk about unprofessional and rude! The checkout lines are always long and the cashiers are robotic and grumpy. It reminds me of checking out at Walmart. Super high prices, levis are 12/15 dollars higher than Sears, appliances are way over priced, cookware is no bargain. I absolutely hate this store! First of all, everything in the store is overpriced and then marked down to make you think it is on sale. There is always a smoke detector beeping. I've complained about it and they said "it is too hard to figure out which one it is." It is not a pleasant shopping experience with the constant beeping. They always try to get you to open a kohls credit card. They will NOT take no for an answer. They will ask you seven times and treat you like it is the biggest mistake in your life if you don't do it. I've had people in line laugh at how many times I say "No Thanks" and they just keep asking. Today was the last straw. The store decided to change their hours. They now open at 9am instead of 8am. There are no signs on the doors to say when they open. There was an employee sitting outside smoking and never spoke to all the people waiting to get in the store. There were 4 people standing at the door and many more waiting in their cars. They will not get another chance to earn my business!!! read more

I was put off by all the negative reviews and considered going to Golden Valley Kohls, but not having a lot of time I stopped at this Kohl's this week. In the evenings on a weekday you have the store pretty much to yourself, though when it's time for back-to-school I'm sure that will change. Store is clean, organized, great selection. My first notice of Kohl's? Back in the 80s watching Milwaukee Bucks games since Kohl's had ads on the boards and I had no idea who they were. I thought they were some kind of supermarket. Turns out Wisconsin Senator Herb Kohl owns both the Bucks and the Department Stores. Kohl's is along the lines of Mervyn's but it's much nicer and cleaner although it can still be an unorganized mess of a store. But they try to be a little hipper (but not much) than Meryvn's is. Still don't confuse this with some place on Melrose. This ain't Fred Segal but the prices aren't Segal's either. You can get some decent stuff on a budget and I bought a lot of housewares here when I first moved to LA two years ago. They really rule here. Still, not a place I hit up all the time. Kohl's is okay. It's nice that they have a wide selection of stuff even though some is cheap quality. Everything is on sale but they jack up the prices so the sale price is really what you should be paying anyway. I worked at a retail store in the mall and we had the same exact shirt that Kohl's had. I'm really surprised to see this store has such bad reviews, I absolutely love this place. There are always coupons and deals that are really unbeatable. You NEVER pay the ticket price everything is always on sale and you can stack your coupons so I sometimes leave paying nothing. The associates are always very helpful with finding coupons and getting you the best deals..the lines can get long but I usually just walk away for ten minutes and its gone or just go to another register.. I recommend shopping here for families who like convenience and amazing deals! read more

I have to say, I prefer the Palmdale store better than this one as it is bigger and seems to have a better selection and isn't as messy at this one. I go to this one way more often since it is on the way home. But nevertheless, I still find cheap stuff here on clearance all the time. Yet, the website has more of a selection which is no surprise and usually use a free shipping & % off codes if I do buy stuff online. Downside when they have the major sales, the lines are long and barely move. I guess Kohl's cannot afford to hire more cashiers as I see so many empty lanes all the time. Why did they even build that many in the first place when there usually only have two cashiers? Like anther reviewer said, they jack the prices way up and eventually have to jack them way down. The clearance racks in front of the female dressing room are a joke. I can never find anything decent, I guess the soccer moms raid them too often by the time I get there. Returning stuff has never been a problem and the people working there are always friendly and nice. And the bathroom is okay except it is always so dark. I even found a very nice sweater for me. Total was $ 116 for 3 items that I end up paying $ 66 after rewards and discounts. Great inventory and well merchandised isles make this place a good visit but the prices are not that great. You get some break in pricing but this is not a discount store. It's slightly better than the Macy's. On the flip-side, they do have more variety than the discount stores like Marshall's and Ross. The staff are extra nice and on it! I just want to take a moment to make a review for my visit today. I went in only to accompany my mom and look at a Keurig. They had a bunch of half off prices on nearly everything! I got a soy blend candle for $5 and a pair of Sonoma boots for $39, plus got an additional 15% and $10 Kohl's cash back. The lady at the register was very friendly and patient ( my mom was looking for a coupon on her phone and was taking forever), she calmly told the others in line that she would be with them shortly and called for back up for their convenience (yes I know, she's doing her job but not everyone does). We went to Kohls last night after dinner to walk off our food. We shop here on occasion but ONLY when I have a coupon and/or they're having a serious sale. COST For the most part, items here are expensive when you tweaked quality into consideration. It's like Mervyna used to be but more expensive. The only place to get a good deal here is on the 60% and up sale racks. And even then, you really have to dig and spend time searching for stuff. LOCATION It's located in a shopping center across from the mall and has ample parking. It's easy to get to so that's a perk. The store is also pretty big and the selection is good. SHOPPING Like I said before, it's expensive for what you get but if you shop the sale racks, you can get really good deals. Tops for about $5 if you search and some pretty cool toys we bought for birthday party gifts for only $10. read more

I made a purchase last month I forgot my coupon and they old me I could come back anytime to make the adjustment. I come back today and they tell me I cannot get my discount since its been more than 14 days. The cashier never said a word about a deadline. The customer service lady just said no I can't get my discount. I had 2 argue with her to get her manager that was right next to her. She asked her and then her manager said "no " and kept on doing her thing and totally ignored me. I had to ask to speak o someone else and she finally got another manager to speak to me. I finally got my discount after spending 30 minutes at customer service. I will definitely close my account and shop elsewhere. read more

I came in to drop off a returned item at Amazon counter on Saturday morning. Inna was helpful and friendly (thank you Inna). The process was quick and easy - really. Just bring your item in and they will do the rest. On top of that you get a coupon for 25% discount to use within a week to shop in store at Kohl's. They even have a reserved parking for Amazon drop off. This location is very clean, organized and a lot of selections compare to Alhambra location. The staffs are also friendly and ready to help. However on this particular occasion I was verbally abused by someone claiming to be one of the store managers. Gabriel has no business working in customer service let alone managing the store. I went in yesterday looking for something to buy for mother's day present, and was very disappointed. I had never been at Khol's before but always drive by. From the outside it looks really nice, and all the commercials they have sound promising. So I went in and first looked at the Jewelry counter hoping to find something unique and great for a present. Everything they had on display wasn't what I was looking for. It all looked generic and it was all similar to each other. So I headed to the ladies section, thought maybe I can find something nice there, to my surprise there was nothing there either. Ended up leaving without buying anything. Unfortunately very bad experience at this store. Ordered a Nike hat for my son for xmas, paid $8 extra for shipping and the hat arrived dirty and looking used. Returned the hat with no help frm customer service. He just got a gift card and was told to order it himself at kiosk. The 2nd hat arrives and its the totally wrong style and color frm the order receipt he had. At the store customer service says it was missed marked because the tag was different from normal. I came in because I was in the store earlier and saw a bag that would be perfect for a trip unfortunately for me I didn't buy it the first time I was in the store. Terrible customer service. Lazy staff. Very disappointed after we saw an advertisement in the Sunday paper. When we went to the Valencia store, they literally just stared at my request for the item. The girl repeatedly told me they did not sell trees. I told her I have an advertisement & how can I find a tree. She shrugged her shoulders & told me to go to a larger Kohl's. I had no idea what she meant. I thought Alma Kohl's were the same. Fir minutes she procrastinated about helping me. Eventually she tried without success. This is a year in the making as it will be obvious with my review,. On my first occasion, I came into the store to find many items were not priced, others were issued in their local advertisement for people who live in the local area like me. Yet when I showed up for certain items, I was told, they were only available online! So I find another item, get it in-hand - and it did not have a price, scan it in the "in store scanner" & nothing either. After asking several employee's, no one knew the price & frankly it appeared like they were scared away from me for not knowing how to solve the problem. After 8.5 minutes of waiting for a price of the item, I gave up & left item on shelf. On another occasion, I had to return a toaster oven. First of all the "return area" is located ALLLLL the way back in the store (Walking by ""sales"", when you are trying to return a BROKEN, and I mean when I opened the box the entire handle was broken off making it an inoperable item, only makes me feel like I am at a Casino, and finding it impossible to find the Cashiers Cage to exchange my chips)! When I tried to exchange it, they told us they only re-credit your credit card, then you have to repurchase it. Yes that means I have to stand in line at check out in the front (which is another horror story in itself), not get my product back at returns. They do NOT even offer a exact exchange, item for another. I mean how stupid as a business do you have to be, to actually give me the option of just walking out with my money after I have already made a "broken" purchase? Hello?! Exchange as fast as you can, so you can KEEP the money dummies! They make a simple exchange so tough, it's just more simple to take the IMPOSED re-credit, and go elsewhere. After seeing the check out line, I decided to take my credit and get my toaster at Target. Notice all the "off the rack" merchandise near the check out counters? Items stuffed into shelves, clothing on the floors, & items left for ultimate return? ...so much stuff that has been taken off the shelves and suddenly left near the lines for check out? This is because the line to check out takes FOREVER! People lose patience, drop/hide their crap and simply leave. I only know this cause I have actually seen and done it myself. There could be 50 people in line and they would still only have 2 (maybe 3 on a GOOD day), cashiers open. Your only hope is take your stuff to the jewelry counter in hopes of skipping a VERY lone wait. They desperately try to offer %20 off coupons locally, but when you actually get inside, you find yourself so frustrated, you throw the coupon on the floor, or hand them to a stranger on the way out in the bumpy parking lot. We had a $50 Gift Card, and on 3 occasions of going into this store, we just couldn't handle the way it was set up, with no correct prices. Your little futuristic price signs do not impress me, when every single item along the walls do not have a price. Maybe they want you to be so frustrated you don't actually use it? Either way, we requested from all our friends/family to NOT get us an more gift cards for this establishment. In fact I have already traded my $50 giftcard for a $40 at TGI Fridays. Want to see a swap meet feeling? Come after Christmas, because SO many people are returning items for money or exchanges. I remember last year, it looked like a "Ross" had imploded! If you come after Christmas, expect to wait over 45 minutes to BUY something (not return something). Return's...even longer......... Corporate, THIS is the email that should make you realize how screwed up this location is. If you need help. contact me. Simple advice: 1. Price things BEFORE they go on the floor (simple) 2. I came in already in a bad mood but that all changed once I was greeted by David a front cashier. It was a slow day and he welcomed me and really went above and beyond making me feel welcome! Completely turned my day around. I shopped around and the store looked great. So clean and organized. I am typically a Golden Valley Kohls girl since the reviews for this location are horrendous but I am glad I decided to give this place a chance. I stood in line and one cashier, Vicky would not even look me in the eyes to offer me help. A cashier named Amber happily called me over and saved my experience. She was so helpful and kind.
