Clothes are crappy and fall apart. Huge long lines. The final straw is when I asked the associate to look up my Kohl account with my DL and ahe LIED and said it was closed and had me apply for a new one, but she really opened a 2nd Capital One Account. They obviously get bonuses from opening credit accounts. I went to Kohls today to buy a birthday gift for a relative. I got to the checkout counter at about the same time as another customer. I was in front of her, but apparently was not in the checkout lane. Even though the other customer acknowledged me letting me in front of her while she was frantically looking at her phone for something the very rude cashier took it upon herself to scold me, telling me I needed to get in back of the line because "she was here first and has been waiting a long time." This was a complete lie as we basically both were there at the same time and we were the only customers in line. This cashier went on and on stating "she was just trying to make things right" speaking in a loud voice and repeating herself over and over again to the point that I finally had to stop her. So, now the other customer goes to the cash register area still looking at her phone apparently still trying to pull up a coupon or something before she could make her purchase. This took a very long time, all the while the cashier spoke in a nice tone to her, but never turned to me to say anything. I only had one item which I could easily have paid for and left during the amount of time it was taking for the customer to find whatever it was on her phone she was looking for. Therefore, I just left without making a purchase and I doubt I will be back to Kohls, Modesto. This is not the way a customer should be treated by a cashier and Kohls needs to do some more employee training in order to prevent future loss of business due to rude cashiers. I ended up going to another department store and buying my gift and I received great customer service too! So happy I decided to leave that Kohls store! read more

Two stars only because they have Amazon returns. The overhead lighting is annoying it's too bright and it's fluorescent lighting it's very unpleasant. Today when I walked through they had music blasting, if you're trying to have a conversation with somebody you were shopping with you wouldn't be able to hear them. The floor is white and combined with the overhead lights like you're walking through a hospital or something. I've gotten some things here before, and they do have a nice shoe section. But, I don't like the overall ambience and feeling of the story it's like they're trying to rush you out. I order makeup from Sephora for pick up thinking they would bring it out to the car which is fine if they don't I don't mind going in. I walked up to the Sephora store waited in line for a while for someone to come help me took forever. When I told the lady I was here for my makeup order she said I need to go to the customer service to pick up my makeup. The customer service is on the other side of the store which makes it pointless for me to order for pick up since I can just grab whatever I needed from Sephora instead. Anyways, I walk to the customer service waited a while again in line because they were busy. Once I go up to the lady to help me she just leaves without saying anything to me! Ordered on line for my daughters Christmas gift had ship to store, went to pick it up today, said to go to box 39, package was gone! They went to look for it and they said nope they don't have it. I really enjoy kohl's. Beautifully set up & close to my home. However, I had a poor interview experience with the Store Manager Javier & two other people(group interview.) I was looking forward to this interview & possible position but was quickly disappointed & put off by Javiers miserable demeanor. He just seemed.... really unhappy to be there. Perhaps something happened that ruined his morning but regardless he wasn't engaging at all... cracked a painful smile last minute that was so uncomfortable & forced. Seemed annoyed by a gentlemen's attempt to connect with him during interview & didnt mention once anything about himself OR what kohl's stands for. Quite odd. This location is unlike any other Kohl's I've visited anywhere in the country. The prices are similar and if you have their card and shop with their discounts, you'll save a bundle. You can often buy a $14.99 item for a little over $6.00 with a sale and 30% discount. My experiences here have been good enough. The location is not great, being so close to Walmart, sandwiched between Sisk and Prescott, a good distance from the mall but it is well hidden. Employees have been friendly, but I rarely see any of them. When I go to some of the nearby locations, I can't walk far without someone asking to help me find something. This one seems extremely quiet. Things could have been better organized, but then, it may just take some time for me to find them. read more

My wife purchased clothing that went on a flash sale within 24 hours after her purchase. She went back to get a price adjustment. Kohls refused to make the adjustment. She ended up returning everything. A store that won't allow a customer to return and repurchase items at the sale price, doesn't care about their customers. They violated their own policy: If your situation meets all these criteria, you could be eligible for a price adjustment: You bought the item on sale or at regular price. Within two weeks (14 days) of the purchase date, the price of the item was further reduced from the final price you paid. Please note: You must contact customer service and request a price adjustment while the item is still at the further reduced price. The only way they would give my wife the 20% flash sale price was by taking her Kohls bucks away. That's a great customer service plan. I went to this store to do an even exchange. In the past if I didn't have a receipt the customer service return clerk would look up my Kohl's charge. Martha, the employee working at the desk immediately told me that my shirt was on sale for $3. I was trying to make an even exchange and she would not let me. I was very upset that she was so dismissive by throwing the garment at me . I have been a customer with Kohls for years and never have I met someone so lazy as to not take the time to look up my account or tell me options for my return. I did call the manager, Michelle and I have made a formal complaint at Kohls.com. FYI, On the back of Kohl's receipt it specifically states they would look up your account transactions if you don't bring in a receipt and offer you either a refund or even exchange. I'da swore I wrote a review on this store quite some time ago. Anyway I do like this store. It kind of reminds me of the old style General Stores we used to have in some of the smaller towns. You know, a place where you could go and find whatever you needed with the exception of large appliances. Stopped in here because i was looking for some long sleeve shirts the crew neck style. I found them here and to my joy they were in different colors. Looked around the store and just checked prices on other items which were of interest to me. Discovered that their prices were no worse or better than other stores I shop in. They have good name brands of clothes, small appliances, etc. I would definitely recommend this store to my friends. read more

This is a really great store with a lot of great products. Clothes, toys, jewelry - pretty much anything you could ask for but with a huge emphasis on clothing. To be honest, the prices are kind of high, but that's because of the sales and coupons they have out. If you're going to go into Kohl's without any plan of action, you WILL be overcharged. The way to avoid this is by bringing a coupon or shopping online. 20% is ok if mixed with Kohls cash or you're picking from sale racks, but you can usually get your hands on a 30% off coupon or online code without too much effort. Having a Kohls charge card helps because most of the time just by using your Kohl's card you'll get a default discount. If you use a 30% off coupon, use your Kohl's card, and look for huge sale items (specials, 80% off clearance racks, etc...) you will totally be impressed with how much quality you get for such little cost. This ain't Wal-Mart. As far as this particular location is concerned - it's very clean, the staff is very nice, and the bathrooms are kept in good condition. Because so many people mess up the clothing displays, it might be hard to find your size on certain items, but that can't really be helped. The staff tries to keep up with it the best they can. Jewelry is very expensive here, so be forewarned. 4 star rating (instead of 5) because I feel like the way this chain is designed, you have to be a smart shopper to not get ripped off. I like this store but they have very poor customer service. Any time I go in to the store and need help or have a question, there is no one to help. The other day I went in to buy a carpet shampooer and there was no one in the department, there wasn't anyone to ask for help and no one asked me if I needed help. Beware of KOHL'S on line ordering. I made 110.02 order on cyber Monday. The KOHL'S website kept processing my order after I made the one order and it charged my credit card over 13.000 dollars. As soon as I figured out that something was wrong I called customers service threw KOHL'S where I was lied to and told that all orders would be stopped. Since then then I have spent hours returning Santa size bags of merchandise to KOHL'S. This was 6 small items ordered over and over by there faulty computer system. And I've called customers service daily trying to get this resolved and money placed back on my credit card. Each time I've got a lot of lip service and run around. I will never shop at KOHL'S again on line or in store. The worst service I've ever seen. And in returning item's to the store I found out I was not the only one that this happened to. Have been in this and many other Kohl's in the past, and for the most part, one of the best stores to shop around for almost anything and everything. However, one of my pet peeves regarding any store is their customer service. Sad to say this Kohl's suck to the lowest score allowed for customer service. We went in yesterday looking for ladies nightgowns and robes, needed help and looked and looked...and looked and looked... and there was not one single sales person on the floor. I know, I went from one end of the store to the other end, asking other shoppers if they had seen any sales person, but only to find some of these shoppers were looking for one as well. My wife finally found one lady in the jewelry department helping other customers. We asked her where we could find another sales person and was told she was it. The only other person available was attending the front cash register. That was it!!! Other customers had gathered around and all of us were truly in shock. She told us that upper management had cut down on much of the help and they were left in charge of the entire store; 1 in front to handle the sales, and 1 in the middle of the store to handle everything else; customers, phones, merchandise, security, etc, etc. None of us could truly believe that Kohl's would allow this to happen, yet there we were, witnessing this issue unfolding before us. I could tell by her voice that she was not a happy sales person, left with such a tremendous task of performing customer service to so many unhappy people. Obviously, after being told we would have to wait, I had enough and we left. Found what we wanted at Sears. We had a great experience at the Kohl's in Modesto. We did our back-to-school shopping and spent a good amount on my son's clothing (4 shirts, 4 jeans/khaki's, 2 pairs of shoes, 3 packages of socks). We got great deals...buy 2 get 1 free, 2 for $20 and Levi's that were $20 off (still $47). The associate's were very helpful, mentioned that the socks were buy 2 get 1 free and offered my son's godmother a 30% off discount even though she didn't have the coupon on her. It was a great experience and I've had great luck with Kohl's in the past. I would definitely recommend this Kohl's location. Very helpful sales associates. read more

Went to check out the Veteran's Day sales and the place was a mess! No one to help us, 15 people in line with only two cashiers. Disaster all the way around. Until we actually got up to the cashier and checked out. Jason was excellent! In all that chaos he was polite, helpful, and cool as a cucumber under all that pressure. He took his time to not rush us, bagged all our items and even helped call customer service with a question we had. Thank god for Jason! He should get 5 stars! read more
