From whisky infused syrup for waffles to decadent hollandaise over a breaky poutine this brunch was awesome. Large portions and did I mention sour dough toast option? Last, but not least, the prices are unbelievably affordable. 5 dollar mimisas and ceasars!! And we're not talking cheap ceasars either!! These perfectly made ceasars with a hint of pickle juice! Come garnished with cheese, pepperoni, olive and pepperchini. Hands down an excellent brunch experience. Will be back soon!!

Service the same, but today was on a whole new level, and not in a good way. We were sat quickly by a young man, who was friendly. Our server brought us waters with ice and lemon as asked. We ordered a couple of beverages which were dropped in a reasonable amount of time. When we asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu we got plenty of time to do that. PLENTY! I finally stood up and asked the other server if we could please place our order, who then brought us to the attention of our own server. She came over and oh have you had time to decide? No apology for the twenty minutes we had sat. Another couple came in after us, ordered and had the food delivered, by the other server, before we even placed ours. Ordered, asked for our water to be refilled. Never happened. I finally asked another gentleman if we could have more water, and he got it right away. When our food was dropped, there was no mention of our water miraculously appearing. The food was boring, bland, and not overly generous in the portions. My fish pieces were large, but mainly batter, the fries were hot but as soon as they cooled a little they were very greasy. The coleslaw tasted like nothing at all. The lovely K has the Cajun chicken Cobb salad. The presentation was nice, but it was equally underwhelming. The left 3/4's of my plate. The other server came and cleared our plates and asked if I was still working on it. My response, "definitely not!" elicited nothing. We will not return.

We were seated in a booth near the front, where it was comfortable enough to talk, and our servers were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Happy hour offered a good selection of cocktails and small plates. Nothing quite blew my socks off, but we had a good time. The garlic-chili prawns were my favorite dish. The wild boar tacos were tasty, though not especially memorable, and at $17 during happy hour, the free-range chicken wings didn't feel like a particularly good value. The Moroccan steak flatbread was good, but I preferred the calamari. The happy-hour spicy margarita was tasty, but the Slow Burn off the main menu took the prize for me. Overall, it's a nice place with a lively atmosphere, though I've had better drinks and nibbles elsewhere nearby. I'm glad we tried it, and I'd still come back. Enjoy!

Back in the area, and given a couple of choices we chose to go back to Annie's again. It was for sure the right choice. Our server Grace is absolute gold, both attentive, entertaining and engaging. We sat out in the covered outside area, which just seems newer and more inviting than the pub which is showing some wear and tear. We both ordered the fish and chips with Arctic cod the fish of choice. The lovely K had the one piece and I the two. The food came out quite quickly and was piping hot. Even the second piece of fish still steamed when cut into the first time. The fries are great and the tartar sauce average. The coleslaw was also not top notch which is why there is no five star. Grace, and the cook on the fish is the reason for the four stars, but that said we'd be happy to. Ike back and try some more of the menu!

They went above and beyond to accommodate my request to get prime rib to my senior mother who lives alone (I am in the States) and I am a total stranger over the phone that they cared to help! It was a bit of a circus for me to even find her favorite meal available today let alone, coordinate a delivery to her (she has no idea its on it way!) She doesn't have that many teeth so steak from ubereats wouldn't work. None of the prime-rib places would deliver, or they were sold out OR they didn't deliver to her area or even worse...wouldn't allow a friend to pick up on my behalf if it were my card. It was really starting to look like Chinese takeout for Christmas dinner but the sad part is this is the first year we have been without each other and she has no other family and she would be considered high risk, so no friends/guests. This meal is going to give her some normalcy as we always enjoyed awesome meals together. As soon as we can, I will be hosting a party to celebrate getting over all of this and I will most definitely pick you! I don't think you know how much impact your gesture has had. Incredibly disappointing experience today…read more When we arrived (around 1:45pm on a Monday), the restaurant was completely empty with one server working. He seated us and took our order for two beers, a pop and calamari. We received our drinks and waters, and then were not checked on again at all. About 20 minutes later, another server, Jade, arrived and two other tables came in. We continued to wait, with empty waters and an empty pop, without anyone checking on us. At around 40 minutes, I went to the washroom (after a discussion that if the food still wasn't there when I came back, we would cancel it and leave) and on my way watched Jade bring full meals to a table that had arrived about 20 minutes after us. While I was gone, Jade came over finally checked in and my family member asked about our calamari. After coming back, she then told him there had been an "error with the POS" and that she was putting the order in now. We have both worked as servers and, frankly, this felt like an excuse for an order that had simply been missed or never entered. Regardless, to have only 3 tables and 2 servers working for almost an hour - how was this not noticed beforehand? When I came back and was caught up, I told her not to bother with the food as it had already been over 40 minutes and we needed to leave. My family member had a flight to catch and this was the final stop of his trip. Her response was immediately quite rude, with some eye rolling involved, and she then called across the restaurant to the original server, "Yep, I guess we have to cancel that"(not verbatim) in front of the other tables. When she returned with the bill, I explained that I understood she wasn't the one who took our order, but regardless, we had been waiting for over 40 minutes without food, refills or anyone checking on us. Her tone became much friendlier, but she then told me that "it looks really bad for us when we void things in the system." That was a particularly frustrating comment. How a void looks internally should not be the customer's concern when the reason for the void is the service they received. It should be a bigger deal how bad it looks to have paying customers have a bad experience... She continued to emphasize that it wasn't her order and that this wasn't "her style of service," and said the other server probably would have comped the calamari if we took it. At that point we had already explained that we needed to leave and no longer had time to eat. I mentioned that offering to comp our drinks would have been appreciated, or at least making some effort to address the experience before I paid. Nothing was offered. The original server was standing about 15 feet away during this conversation and never came over to acknowledge the mistake or apologize himself, I even mentioned to Jade it would be nice if he could've apologized himself. An order being missed is an understandable mistake. What made this such a poor experience was waiting over 40 minutes without being checked on, watching tables that arrived well after us receive their meals, being given an excuse once we finally asked about our food, and then receiving attitude when we asked to cancel it. I'm especially disappointed that this was the final stop of my family member's trip. We came here specifically because it had been recommended to us, and unfortunately left with a very different impression. Oh, and the male server/bartender didn't ask for ID from my very young looking 22 year old family member, just as another thing to note.
