The pavers replaced flagstone and dead grass. The retaining wall on the right was constructed after removing a lot of junipers

We received bids from several contractors for our job, which was the removal of existing flagstone, dead grass, and junipers, and installation of approximately 1100 sf of pavers and two low retaining walls. Kodiak promptly responded to my voicemail message. David, the owner, came on time for a free estimate. He's low key, friendly, and easy going. He took measurements and notes and about a week later, he sent a quote. (The quote is just a basic overview of the proposed work - it is NOT the contract, which is a separate document). The quote was considerably less than the highest competitor's quotes. Kodiak is one of the few contractors that I've encountered that actually uses a contract form that complies with the California Business & Professions Code requirements. This is a very underrated aspect when it comes to hiring a contractor (many companies skip the requirement or even try to include backward terms like having the homeowner indemnify the contractor(!)). The work started on the day they said. His crew worked hard every day. David came a couple of times to monitor the progress. While it took a few more days than expected, the additional time was very reasonable because the area had some slope, which they were able to level quite a bit. As the photos show, the finished work looks amazing.

Very good work at a good price. David and his crew worked very hard and finished on schedule, even after encountering very hard soil and large boulders. He stayed patient with me as I asked questions and changed design during the project. I'm very happy how the retaining wall came out, and the extra effort his stone cutters took to complete the ends of the wall.

I recommend Kodiak construction, Martinez for their excellent quality of cement work. We had exposed aggregate 1/4 pami pebble entry, walkway and porch installed. David's years of experience shows and his crew was punctual, reliable, skillful and exceeded our expectations.

It's been exactly one year since Kodiak Construction repaved my small driveway which was a simple job on a flat area. They did the job in two days but the result was awful. First, they didn't measure the width properly and made it more narrow than it was. They left big gaps on the sides of the driveway so I had to call them to fix it. A worker came with some buckets of soil to sort of fill the gaps. Very shoddy. The surface of the driveway is now very blotchy because of their shoddy cement mix job. Then, the ground was not leveled correctly so it now collects water in the middle when it rains. They literally destroyed a lot of landscaping around the house with wheelbarrows, tools, and rinsing off their tools so cement was everywhere on the lawn and flowers. I had to hire someone to clean up the mess they made around the house. David did reimburse me for the cost of that. Later, I saw my Ring camera revealed the workers using my hose and water to wash their trucks on the street in front of my house. The overall result of hiring Kodiak Construction is being out thousands of dollars and having a terrible looking driveway due to their extremely poor workmanship.

We finally were ready to redo our front yard, driveway & back patio with pavers. Knowing it was a big job we wanted to make sure we found a good solid company to take on the task and we sure did! We found Kodiak on Yelp and had them come out to give us an estimate. Of the 4 companies that came out we ultimately went with Kodiak and we couldn't be happier. Dave was very responsive and made sure everything was to our liking and specifications. The workers were professional and were working hard each day they were here. The job took about 2 weeks (they didn't come everyday, weekends off) but they would stay pretty late each day they were here. They did our front walkway with stairs, driveway, back patio, artificial grass, & a bench for our fire pit with pavers. They really know what they are doing and it shows in their work. We had so many neighbors walking by complimenting our pavers too. We couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. If you need pavers done, I highly recommend Kodiak. Licensed & insured, they legit have a strong paver game!

Thank you so much to David and his team. They did incredible work with our stamped concrete. We were really impressed with the attention to detail of their team, how they made sure every corner, every curve, and every stamp was perfect in addition to their reliable demolition and drainage installation. We appreciate so appreciate their skill, expertise, and professionalism.

A few months ago Kodiak Construction completed a backyard patio for me in Benicia, California. I'm very pleased with the entire process and the results speak for themselves. I received several quotes from other concrete contractors, but I'm really glad I went with Kodiak Construction. I highly recommend them for any of your concrete needs. Christina and Dave Figueroa were supportive, helpful, and professional in helping me make decisions and keeping me appraised with the job's progress. Costs were upfront, competitive, and on budget. Thank you to everyone at Kodiak Construction! I'm including a few pictures of the finished work.

AMAZING JOB -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND!…read more We just had French drains installed by Lara's Concrete Inc. (925)246-0096, and I have to say -- they did an AMAZING job! This is a BIG project. Is it cheap? No. But neither is repairing a damaged foundation! They are very fair and reasonable for their pricing. Living in California, we all know the rain will eventually come, and when it does, you want that water moving AWAY from your home and foundation -- not toward it. I look at something like French drains as an investment in protecting your home. Spending the money now to properly control drainage can potentially save you from dealing with water intrusion, foundation issues, and thousands upon thousands of dollars in repairs down the road. The crew worked incredibly hard, the finished job looks fantastic, and I'm extremely happy with the end result. Protect your home. Protect your foundation. Do it right the first time. If you've been thinking about French drains or have drainage issues around your property, I absolutely recommend reaching out to Lara's Concrete Inc. from me! Bring on the rainy season -- this house is ready!

I absolutely can recommend Lara's Concrete. They performed a 30ft driveway extension, sidewalk…read morereplacement, and front entryway replacement for us. The entire project including permitting took just over a week. They were very professional, made very little noise (my wife and I both work from home, and we hardly noticed them), and left the job site better than they found it at the end. Absolutely professional from beginning to end.
